Chapter 1103: Grandpa’s gift
Chapter 1103: Grandpa’s gift
After a heated back and forth debate about their destination, they finally decided on visiting a few cities in Spain followed by visiting a few cities in Italy. Both countries bordered France, which would help them to easily hop by for a visit to Jin’s grandparents in Paris. They hadn’t decided if it would be during or at the end of the trip but they wanted to be close by.
Why was deciding upon the destination a heated debate you ask?
Alix opened the curtains of the private suit they stayed at in one of the luxurious hotels at Granada. The outside view was breathtaking but her inside satisfaction was not.
She looked back. "We can still take a flight to Puerto Rico, you know?"
Jin plainly smiled. "Can you drop that desire of visiting the Bermuda Triangle?"
"Isn’t it mysterious and thrilling?"
"Yeah sure our disappearances will be very mysterious and thrilling."
"I mean, we have died once and returned to life. Shouldn’t we have some trust in our fate?" She folded her arms.
His brow twitched. "Something tells me that we shouldn’t challenge that fate again."
She clicked her tongue. "You don’t have any sense of adventure."
He smiled wryly. "You know, at times the simple dream of my life is to be able to return home and play with my nieces and nephews."
"That’s too safe."
"Yeah thank God at least one of us thinks that way."
She made a face.
It had been a long trip so they decided not to get too adventurous and excited right on their first day. They decided to take it easy and just roam around the hotel area once rested. It was a 20-day trip and they had enough time.
"You can go ahead for a shower. I will unpack the bags."
Alix was itching for a hot shower so she was happy to take that offer. Once she was finally out of view, Jin collapsed on the bed and covered his face.
Ahhhh, I have no clue what I’m supposed to do...
He was worried that things would only get more awkward between them with just the two of them together. He dropped a message to Ai, pursing his lips.
’This better be a good idea or I’m done for! I have no idea what to do!’
The reply was almost immediate.
’Oh you reached! Don’t worry. You are stressing out too much. You just have to spend time with her, not plan something fancy or elaborate. Just go with the flow~’
The flow is exactly what I’m worried about! What if it ends up in a tsunami?
Then there was a barrage of more text messages from the family, especially from a certain bothersome quadruple.
’Ooohhhh Jini-boy and Alix reached!’ The twins chirped.
’Honeymoooooooooon~~’ Jing almost broke the chat with his back to back suspicious grinning emojis.
His gaze darkened and he furiously typed back. ’It’s not a honeymoon! We have only come for some sightseeing!’
Liu Hai chimed in. ’You should be open to all experiences, dear~ What if that kind of a chance lands right on your lap?’
That’s not going to happen!
’Which is why your handsome and perceptive grandfather has put in some naughty gift for you to use~ You should check your luggage.’
’Oooooooooo’ Jing and the twins whistled.
Jin sat right up with that message as if lightning struck him.
Did he put something suspicious in the bags!?
He hastily opened the bags and rummaged through the clothes and essentials as if an earthquake had dropped him a visit. In the very corner was a zipped pocket where he felt something unfamiliar. He didn’t remember putting anything in there. He unzipped it and found a fluffy handcuff all neatly wrapped with a ribbon.
His mouth twitched incessantly. With a deadly glare in his eyes, he picked up his phone and typed back.
’Grandpaaaaa!!!! Why the hell would you put handcuffs in there!’
Everybody burst out laughing, dropping in a series of rofl emojis.
’Whaaat?’ He sounded as if he was whining. ’Isn’t it exciting? I could totally imagine Alix taking charge like that while you will be at her mercy hohoho!’
’Maybe we should advise Alix not to go too hard on our Jini-boy~’ Jian teased.
’He is very delicate~’ Nian added with a wink emoji.
The clouds over Jin’s head were only getting darker and gloomier.
Ahh...my head...it’s hurting...
Jun dropped a message amidst this chaos. ’Throw those cuffs away if you don’t want to become a divorcee.’
Jinhai reacted to Jin’s message with a thumbs up, finally participating in the chat, albeit silently.
Bro!! Dad!! He cried.
’Hey, Jun! Don’t brainwash him!’ Liu Hai lashed out. ’You are selfishly snatching his precious chance to experience heaven.’
’If he listens to your ridiculous suggestions Grandpa, then he won’t be very far from experiencing hell.’
Jinhai reacted with a thumbs up to his sensible son’s message yet again. Jin, too, nodded hard.
At that point, he heard the bathroom’s door knob click and felt his soul fly out of his body.
Fuck, I haven’t gotten rid of those cursed handcuffs yet!
Panicked, he took them out but didn’t know where to put them away. The door opened half-way and he jammed the cuffs back into the same pocket, zipping it shut.
Alix stepped out, fixing the last knot of her bathrobe when she felt something strange. She threw a glance at Jin, who had oddly positioned himself near their luggage.
"Why are you doing those weird acrobatics?"
"Acrobatics? Of course not haha," a drop of sweat trickled down by the side of his ear. "I was just searching for my shirt. Don’t know where I put it..."
"How hard can it be to search? All your clothes are stacked at the bottom," she knitted her brows.
"W-Well I just remembered I left the shirt in question at home. Sorry for the mess..."
Alix narrowed her eyes in response to which he tried very hard not to look away from her. Which was when he realized that he was staring at her bathrobe aka just-out-of-the-shower version of his wife. Which caused him to swallow a gulp.
Suddenly I realize this trip could prove to be too fatal for my heart...
