Chapter 1713: Chapter 1707: Finding Yu Ze

X looked at Qing Zhu’s anxious face. Thinking she was worried that he might do something to Silver Wolf, his heart felt a bit bitter. Since when did he become so unwelcome? And he wasn’t even that cruel, was he?

But why did this woman pay him no attention at all? He was starting to doubt if he had disguised himself too unattractively, which might be why she wouldn’t spare him even a glance.

However, when he thought about what Silver Wolf had just said about a daughter, and how that woman hadn’t refuted it, he realized the woman he had found amusing just moments ago was now off the table.

If Qing Zhu knew what X was thinking, she might cry to death. It wasn’t that she didn’t want to refute; it was that she hadn’t even had the chance to process what was said. Silver Wolf’s words had terrified her and left her stunned. By the time she figured out what Silver Wolf had meant, they had all left, leaving her no opportunity to argue back.

Meanwhile, the group of people had their own thoughts, and Qin Xue and Chu Molin, along with their crew, arrived at the place Qing Zhu had mentioned. To their surprise, they found their son chatting and laughing with a large man.

The couple exchanged a glance. What was happening? Why was it so different from what they had anticipated? The scene was bizarre to them.

"Dad, Mom, you’re here!" Yu Ze turned toward the source of the sound and spotted his parents. Thrilled, he called out to them.

"Hmm, you’ve been living quite comfortably here, haven’t you?" Chu Molin’s tone was cold as ice. The entire family had been worried sick about him at home, yet here he was having a fun time with a stranger.

"Dad, they didn’t make things difficult for me." Yu Ze attempted a weak smile, silently sighing to himself. It was clear his father was angry, and the consequences were looking grim.

"Oh, really?" Chu Molin gave his son a faint glance. This inconsiderate brat—does he even understand the situation they’re in? He had the nerve to be so carefree. Should he call it optimism or heartlessness?

"I..."

"Who are you people?" A tall man returned and, upon seeing Chu Molin and his group standing there, immediately fell into a defensive posture.

"That’s an excellent question. You dragged my son here and yet have the audacity to ask us who we are? Don’t you think that question is laughable?" Qin Xue had just calmed down upon noticing her child unharmed, but the tall man’s appearance stirred up her earlier worries.

These were the people responsible for taking her son and causing their entire family a day and night of torment and heartache. And now, they dared to ask her this? How could anyone tolerate it?

"You’re the boy’s parents? How did you manage to find this place?" The tall man hadn’t expected the child’s family to show up. But Silver Wolf wasn’t here yet, and now he had no idea how he was going to explain this to the higher-ups. The boss had ordered him to deal with Silver Wolf discreetly.

Yet the current situation wasn’t shaping up as planned, leaving the tall man feeling anxious. Meanwhile, the three people sent out to gather intel hadn’t returned, making him increasingly uneasy. Could something have gone wrong? Were they taken down by this group?

With these thoughts swirling in his mind, the tall man approached, intending to restrain Yu Ze. But Yu Ze noticed his plan and, just as the man was about to reach him, dodged aside and ran toward his parents. Even the man referred to as "Big Head" was caught off guard by Yu Ze’s reaction.

Big Head hadn’t realized this child could move so quickly. Was this kid really just over a year old? This was absurdly extraordinary.

"Have you been playing so much that you’ve forgotten who you are?" Qin Xue gave her eldest child a reproachful look.

"Of course not. Not only do I remember I’m surnamed Chu, but I also know I’m the son of the Cold King. It’s just that the man called Big Head seemed useful, so I thought I’d win him over to my side by buddying up to him." Yu Ze explained, looking at Qin Xue before lifting his gaze to his father. It was clear he was trying to flatter his father.

At the very least, he could see his father’s expression softening a bit. It wasn’t as icy as before. If he could reduce the anger, that’d be a relief. He had heard that when his father became truly enraged, it was terrifying.
