Chapter 66: Chapter 65: Leader Mei

Since she was reborn, the events she’s encountered have been completely different from her previous life. For one thing, she didn’t go to college before, and now opening a restaurant is a series of different experiences. She’s a bit worried that in this life, she might not end up with Han Yi.

After meeting Han Yi, Lin Wan felt down for several days. Gradually, she came to terms with it. In her previous life, she and Han Yi met through a blind date. It was during next summer vacation when Lin Wan thought maybe their fate hadn’t arrived yet, so she decided to be patient and wait until next summer vacation.

A week passed, and Lin Yinghui pushed the freshly made food cart to the front of the shop. Lin Wan saw that the style was almost exactly as she had drawn it. She was very satisfied.

Lin Wan hurried to the market to buy a few cooking iron barrels. She placed them into the grooves on top.

"With this, we don’t need to collect the food canisters in advance every day anymore; just push it directly," Zhang Shuhua laughed.

"Mm-hmm, absolutely right," Lin Yinghui was also overjoyed.

By around ten o’clock, Lin Wan and her mom started busying themselves in the kitchen, making enough food. Potatoes and chicken, inexpensive ribs, and three vegetarian dishes. Then, they put out a large pot of rice.

Lin Wan thought it through: three vegetarian and two meat dishes. What they’re doing is considered fast food; with meat, it would cost sixty cents per serving, and without meat, fifty cents per serving.

At noon, Lin Yinghui and Zhang Shuhua pushed the food cart to the hospital.

Sure enough, after more than two hours, the two of them returned happily with an empty food cart.

"Today’s dishes are all sold out, but we didn’t make enough rice; we’ll make more tomorrow," Zhang Shuhua quickly informed Lin Wan about the day’s success.

"Mm-hmm, it’s our first time, and it’s normal not to gauge it right; no rush." Seeing that several large barrels of food were all sold, Lin Wan felt happy inside.

In the evening, not just porridge was served; Lin Wan and her mom also made some egg pancakes and rolled buns with vegetables. The vegetables were already sandwiched; the food cart had limited space, so no extra dishes could be added, just various porridges filled up the cart.

Besides these, Lin Wan took the time to make a special serving of egg and tomato noodles for Leader Mei, and had her brother deliver it.

Ever since he tried sour vinegar noodles last time, Uncle Mei has been switching up the ways he eats noodles, insisting that it’s different every day.

This old man really is a handful.

Luckily, he’s getting discharged in the next couple of days.

Thinking of this, Lin Wan quickly took out the bill to calculate Mr. Mei’s meal expenses for the past half month.

After adding it up, there wasn’t much of Mei Lang Jun’s money left.

The plan was for Leader Mei to be discharged in the morning, but he lingered until the evening, personally coming to the clay pot shop and insisting on trying Lin Wan’s sour vinegar noodles.

"This old man insisted on coming; I couldn’t stop him," Aunt Liang smiled at Lin Wan, then saw Liang Hongmei, who had just come out of the kitchen, and looked at Lin Wan to ask, "Who is this?"

"Aunt Liang, this is my mom, Liang Hongmei. The sour vinegar noodles were made by my mom," Lin Wan introduced.

"Hello, Mr. Liang, turns out we share the same surname. We must be fated; my name is Liang Qian."

"Hello, Mr. Liang," Liang Hongmei greeted.

"Comrade Xiao Wan, I’m still hungry?" Leader Mei, already seated at the table, said impatiently.

On the side, Mei Lang Jun sat upright across from his dad, giving him a disdainful look. His father had become less dignified with age.

"Alright, I’ll ask my mom to make it right away," Lin Wan responded.

"Okay, okay, I’ll go prepare it for the senior leader," Liang Hongmei smiled and motioned for Liang Qian to sit down.

"Aunt Liang, why don’t you go to the kitchen and learn from my mom? That way, when Uncle Mei wants to eat, you can make it for him right at home," Lin Wan joked as she poured them tea.

"That’s a great idea, Xiao Qian, go quickly and learn," Leader Mei’s calling her "Xiao Qian" startled Lin Wan’s hand as she poured water, almost spilling it.

Eager to learn some skills, Liang Qian happily ran to the kitchen. Nowadays, not many people have their own restaurants, and with such good skills, she also wanted to learn a thing or two to show off to the people in her neighborhood.
