Chapter 262: Chapter 261: Culinary Institute’s Exchange Meeting (Part 2)

In the corridor.

Two exchange teams from different academies stood in two distinct lines.

On the left side, led by Smith, were about seven or eight instructors from Orlando Academy, among whom two blond-haired, blue-eyed female instructors particularly drew attention.

On the right side, led by Roland Chapeau.

Both exchange teams were led by professors and, aside from instructors, included a large group of elite sophomores and juniors selected to participate in the exchange topics.

"Boom"

As Roland Chapeau opened the door to the public lecture hall, he turned his head to Smith and said, "Please come in—"

Smith stepped aside, allowing the instructors and students behind him to enter.

"Professor Chapeau, I heard that your Instructor Auson accidentally broke her hand..."

With a faint smile, Smith’s gaze settled on a member of the Far Moon Team, a woman in her early thirties with a bandaged right hand and a grim face.

The other instructors from the Far Moon Team didn’t look too pleased.

Behind them, students whispered privately.

"It’s terrible that Instructor Auson has injured her hand!"

"This was already an unpopular public class, only available to sophomores, and it only lasts half a semester... I heard that this course at Far Moon has only ever had Instructor Auson available, she always presided over it with no issues!"

"This exchange meeting, like previous ones, comprises 10 topics. So far, eight have been conducted, and Far Moon and Orlando each have four wins—a tie!"

"This is the ninth topic, it’s very important!"

Similar exchange meetings occurred every three years.

Starting from this spring semester, not only Orlando Academy, but by the end of May, Europe’s strongest culinary school would also send an exchange group sequentially to Far Moon and then Orlando for exchanges.

Consequently, Far Moon would follow suit.

However, Far Moon’s schedule was set from the end of June to July, right before the summer vacation.

This year, Orlando Academy was the first to make a move, with Smith arriving in Japan almost a week earlier and only joining the Orlando exchange group two days ago.

Though termed exchanges and research to foster mutual understanding, it was essentially a prelude to the triennial Academy Supremacy Tournament scheduled for the last week of December, just before the new year.

A prelude was a polite way of putting it, in plain terms, it was a probe into each other’s depths.

The student body changed every term it went without saying, and the instructor lineup inevitably had slight adjustments over three years.

Therefore, such "exchanges" were deemed necessary by all three academies.

"Let’s do this then, halt this topic’s exchange right here."

Seeing that Roland Chapeau did not respond, Smith unilaterally made the suggestion.

"Is it halted, not canceled or changed?"

Roland Chapeau gave a wry smile as he immediately saw through Smith’s hidden trap.

If he agreed, Orlando Academy would effortlessly score a win, making a total of 5 points and reaching the match point first.

Although each academy officially claimed the exchanges fostered a friendly atmosphere, every exchange meeting was fraught with intense rivalry, almost as if they wanted to deploy their strongest lineup and grind the opponent into the ground.

Hmph!

With a cold snort in his heart and a way given to step down, Far Moon Team unexpectedly refused to back down. With an expressionless face, Smith said, "As guests, we will respect your Far Moon’s wish and continue with this topic!"

Turning his back to the Far Moon faculty and students, Smith entered the lecture hall and sat in the front row.

With no outsiders present, the Far Moon students discussed even more loudly.

Far Moon had not dispatched any of their top ten elites for this exchange, but to the Far Moon students, there were plenty of familiar faces in the exchange group—all club leaders or well-known figures in the school with top grades, truly the elite of the elite.

"Instructor Auson, have you decided to compete?"

A strong male student, resembling a sumo wrestler, asked in a muffled voice.

This sophomore, Goda Haya Seiji, had faced defeat against Tiqie Helinai in a Food Duel during the first week of the spring semester, losing the ’Sumo Hotpot Research Association.’ But a month had passed, and Goda Haya managed to adjust well, undeniably becoming one of the key players in the Far Moon Exchange Group.

"No!"

Roland Chapeau shook his head, "I have already found a substitute."

"Substitute?"

The students and instructors exchanged looks.

Instructor Auson, in his thirties, furrowed his delicate brows, "Professor Chapeau, is the person you brought in dependable? This time it’s Smith himself in action. If I hadn’t been injured, I would have only a fifty percent chance of defeating him and taking this score!"

He forced a slight smile.

Roland Chapeau slowly uttered a name known to every soul in Far Moon.

Afterward, at the large classroom door, there was utter silence.

...

Simultaneously,

In an office in the teaching area,

Dojima Yin put down the remote and sat on a single-seater sofa.

Beside him sat the silent Tiqie Xianzuowen, and further on, a middle-aged man brimming with energy.

Beep.

A large screen displayed live footage of the large classroom.

"The ninth topic is about to start," Dojima Yin said, a dark line forming on his forehead, "Speaking of which, Auson is really careless, having a bath and accidentally falling in the bathroom, even breaking his arm, what are the odds!"

He laughed as he focused on the screen, where a woman sitting in the second row, her right hand bandaged, sported a gloomy face.

"Has Instructor Xia arrived?"

Tiqie Xianzuowen suddenly asked.

"He has, Ichise Hui just called me back. Instructor Xia is currently in the lounge," said Dojima Yin.

Upon hearing Xia Yu’s name, the third person in the office, the distinguished middle-aged man, said with interest, "I never thought I’d see him appear during my visit to Far Moon!"

"Yes!"

Dojima Yin replied respectably, "Lord Qiushan, I heard that you returned from the IGO headquarters, and it’s because..."

"Shh!"

The middle-aged man, Qiushan Hong, raised a finger, a hint of a smile in his eyes.

"Just watch!"

Dojima Yin was helpless.

He actually wanted to dig out some information from Qiushan Hong and then pass it to Xia Yu.

After all, he had also heard from Aoki Motota that this special envoy from the IGO headquarters had quietly returned to Neon three days ago, and yet had not summoned Xia Yu for an inspection. Instead, he seemed to be just traveling and sightseeing.

"Eriina says he’s skilled in fine carving, is that credible?"

Tiqie Xianzuowen asked.

"Absolutely reliable!"

Dojima Yin’s spirits lifted, "That guy, since the ’Nine Feathered Phoenix’ recipe, has intentionally made food more delicate, more beautiful. At the reward dinner of his residency, he introduced a dish with carving skills, ’Rising Dragon Dumplings.’ I knew then that he possesses exceptional decor and carving skills!"

Hearing this, the Far Moon Commander hummed softly, his gaze then locking onto the screen.

...

In the lounge on-site.

"Instructor Xia, you should go out now!"

Ichise Hui, hearing the noisy sounds from the large classroom through the wall, turned back and woke Xia Yu, who was feigning sleep with his eyes closed.

Xia Yu stood up and slipped the sheathed Wenqu Saber into his trousers pocket.

"Good luck!"

Ichise Hui couldn’t help saying.

With a slight pause at the sliding door, Xia Yu turned his head and chuckled softly, "Just wait for my good news!"
