Chapter 140: Chapter 140 Where Has All the Money Gone (1)_1

"I got bitten by a mosquito," Ye An said awkwardly, quickly moving to stand behind Young Master Ye. In his heart, he cursed Shangguan You hundreds of times.

"Huh? It seemed like Young Master Ye was standing right here just now. How come he’s so far away now?" Gui Mo looked puzzled at Young Master Ye.

"It really did seem like Young Master Ye was standing here just moments ago." Gui Jun also looked strangely at Young Master Ye. How could Young Master Ye have moved so far in the blink of an eye? This question wasn’t just on their minds; many others were looking at Young Master Ye with similar curiosity.

"Hmph." Young Master Ye snorted coldly, tossing an indifferent glance at Shangguan You. His foot was still burning with pain. This damn girl! If it weren’t for the crowd, he definitely wouldn’t have let her off so easily. As for everyone else’s questions, he naturally wouldn’t bother to answer them.

"Young Master Ye, when can I expect my jade?" Shangguan You asked, casually eyeing him. Looking at his face, tight with suppressed anger, she felt an inexplicable sense of glee.

"It’ll be ready before the New Year. I’ll make sure it’s delivered into Miss Shangguan’s hands then," Ye An responded after Young Master Ye shot him a look. A chill went down his spine as he answered Shangguan You’s question.

"Well, Young Master Ye certainly has the arrogance that comes with wealth. If I find any good jade in the future, I’ll be sure to notify Young Master Ye immediately," Shangguan You said with a cold laugh.

"Brother Qing, Brother Jun, Shangguan You, let’s go get something to eat," Gui Luo’s bright voice chimed in. They had been out for half a day and hadn’t eaten anything; it was time to get some food.

"Alright, let’s go. The young lady is treating today; I’m sure she won’t be stingy."

"Miss Shangguan just made two hundred million. I trust she won’t be so stingy as to refuse to treat us to a single meal, right?" Young Master Ye said, an eyebrow arched in a half-smile as he watched Shangguan You. He just wanted to see her get angry.

"Then we’ll be relying on Miss Shangguan’s generosity for this meal," Ye An said, also smiling. Inwardly, he was sneering at Young Master Ye. Countless people vied to treat him to a meal, yet he’d always disdainfully refuse. Now that Shangguan You paid him no mind, he was eager to tag along.

"I’m sure my cousin won’t be stingy. Let’s include ourselves," Li Meisu said with a light laugh, adding, "You just made several hundred million. You wouldn’t be so cheap as to not even treat us to one meal, would you?"

"Then we’ll thank Miss Shangguan for the meal today," Yu Zijin also said with a smile, as if she hadn’t been the one targeting Shangguan You just moments before.

"If that’s the case, then naturally, I, Gu, can’t be left out!" Gu Weixiong boomed with laughter. Eating with a group of young masters and ladies was a fine opportunity indeed.

"Grandfather Shi and Uncle Shi, please join us as well," Shangguan You said, casting a cold glance at Young Master Ye before turning to the Shi Family father and son beside her.

"Miss Shangguan, with such kind intentions, even if you hadn’t asked, we would have tagged along for the meal. After all, Miss Shangguan just earned several hundred million; of course, you’re treating," Shi Jian’an said with a smile, stroking his chin.

Once more, the large group made their way in a grand procession to a private restaurant. This time, Yu Zijin, Li Meisu, and Shangguan Rou handled the ordering. Shangguan You, meanwhile, made an excuse to look for Zhuge Feng. She wondered how he was doing after last night.

After searching the entire small courtyard without finding any sign of Zhuge Feng, she was about to head back when an annoying pest blocked her path.

"Looking for that brat?" Young Master Ye leaned roguishly against the wall, blocking her way, his words laced with distinct jealousy.

"What’s it to you?" Shangguan You retorted with a cold sneer. Her affairs were none of his concern. Who she was looking for was none of his damn business!

"You like that brat, Zhuge Feng?" Young Master Ye’s voice turned cold, his frosty gaze fixed on Shangguan You. She was the one he had chosen! No one else could have her, especially not that foolish brat!

"You seem to have a lot of free time on your hands. Unlike you, I don’t have time to waste on nosy people. Please move," Shangguan You said indifferently. As her gaze swept the area, she spotted Shen Cheng and Wanqian. She took a few quick steps, bypassed Young Master Ye, and hurried after them.

"It’s only your affairs I care about. I couldn’t be bothered with anyone else’s," Young Master Ye said, raising an eyebrow as he watched Shangguan You, her face filled with loathing for him. He prided himself on his irresistible charm. So why did other women cling to him, while Shangguan You so blatantly ignored him? Had his allure truly vanished? He was baffled, a heavy, stifled feeling settling in his chest as he watched her walk away.

Shangguan You’s figure flickered, and she slipped into the Space. Following Shen Cheng and Wanqian, she entered another private room. Inside, Shen Cheng had dark circles under his eyes, his complexion pale—clear signs of insufficient sleep.

Wanqian wasn’t faring much better. Her eyes were red, framed by two large, dark circles, and her steps were unsteady. Her face was also somewhat sallow. For two consecutive nights, she hadn’t slept well. Whenever she closed her eyes, she would see Wanyou smiling at her, sweetly calling her "Sister."

If this continued, both she and Shen Cheng would break down. They’d be frightened to death! Despite being exhausted, they didn’t dare to sleep. She couldn’t go on like this. They had to find a solution. Whether it was Wanyou’s ghost or someone deliberately causing trouble, they had to find someone to resolve it.

Across from Shen Cheng and Wanqian sat an old man and a young boy. This old man wasn’t a stranger to Shangguan You; in fact, he was rather familiar. It was Old Master Qi and his grandson, Qi Zhuochen.

"Old Master Qi, our house is not at peace. An acquaintance recommended you to us, and we hope you can help," Shen Cheng said, looking pleadingly at the old man and boy. Yesterday, this grandfather-grandson pair had suddenly appeared, and Old Master Qi had said some things, but he hadn’t paid much attention. After last night’s events, however, and another visit to the outskirts with Wanqian this morning, that other old man had told him to find an Old Master Yu, someone he implicitly trusted. Whether they could get a good night’s sleep now depended on this pair before him. After all, the words of that old man from the outskirts—the one who recommended Old Master Yu—had never been wrong. So, they had followed the address given for Old Master Yu and found this grandfather and grandson. It had taken a lot of effort to persuade this old man to see them, and they desperately hoped he could help.

"Indeed, Old Master Qi, my sister has been dead for a year, but these past two days, her restless spirit has been appearing in our home. Please, you must help us," Wanqian pleaded, looking at Old Master Qi, her face a mask of fear.
