Chapter 124: EPILOGUE: THE END!

The world did not stop when Leon Hoffman died.

The stock market did not crash. The city did not mourn. The empire he had built did not crumble overnight.

But for Diane—it felt like the ground had been pulled out from beneath her.

The funeral was private, held in the same estate where he had once ruled with quiet authority. Only those closest to him attended.

Gabriel was supporting Diane the entire time.

Leon had always been a man of control, even in death.

He had left behind no loose ends, no unfinished business—just an empire for Diane to inherit.

And she did.

She signed the documents that made her the sole heir to Hoffman companies, the name she once despised now belonging to her alone.

Leon was gone.

And it was time to move forward.

THE FALL OF ISLA FROST...

The trial had been quick.

Victor Frost never woke up from his coma. His injuries were too severe, and his body—already weakened by age—couldn’t recover.

Isla’s crime? Attempted murder.

With the security footage from her own mansion as evidence, there was no denying it.

She stood in the courtroom, wearing a perfectly tailored suit, her once-pristine reputation in tatters.

Diane attended every hearing, sitting quietly in the back, watching as Isla tried to fight the inevitable.

But the verdict was final.

"Isla Frost, you are hereby sentenced to life in prison without the possibility of parole."

The words echoed through the courtroom.

Isla was frozen, her mouth parted in shock. "This—this is ridiculous—"

The judge ignored her protests. The gavel slammed down.

It was over.

Diane watched as Isla was led away in handcuffs, her manicured nails digging into her palms. She turned, her cold eyes locking onto Diane.

"This isn’t over," she whispered.

Diane smirked. "It is for you."

Isla’s boys who had never known their mother outside of her privilege—were given to their maternal grandmother.

Diane didn’t feel pity for Isla.

But she did pity those boys.

Because they would grow up knowing that their mother had destroyed herself.

A COWARD’S END...it was Marrin’s...

Unlike his wife, Martin never fought.

He knew the moment Isla was arrested that he was next.

Diane had ensured that the authorities dug deeper into his finances.

Tax fraud. Wire fraud. Embezzlement.

And, most damning of all—his direct involvement with Evelyn Hoffman’s illegal dealings.

When the judge read his charges, Martin barely reacted.

His sentence?

25 years in federal prison.

Diane never spared him another thought after that...

With Isla and Martin out of the picture, Victor in coma, and Adrian rotting in prison, there was nothing left to fear.

Diane was in the private airstrip, watching as the jet carrying Arthur touched down.

Gabriel stood beside her, his hand on the small of her back. Riot leaned against the black SUV, watching the plane’s descent.

When the doors opened, Arthur stepped out.

He was still small, still silent, his wide blue eyes scanning the runway until he saw her.

Diane’s breath caught in her throat seeing that Arthur didn’t run...he didn’t cry.

He simply walked toward her and took her hand.

Diane knelt, pressing a kiss to his forehead. "Welcome home, sweetheart."

Arthur’s fingers curled around hers, his grip tight.

"I missed you," he whispered.

Diane swallowed hard, seeing that her mute brother was finally speaking..."I missed you too."

And this time, Diane wasn’t letting go.

-Months passed.-

The world moved on.

Riot—free from the life of crime that had once bound him—opened a café.

It was small, tucked into a quiet street, a place that served strong coffee and better whiskey.

Diane and Gabriel visited often, watching as Riot adjusted to a life where he wasn’t constantly running.

"You look disgustingly domestic," Diane teased one afternoon, sipping her espresso.

Riot smirked, leaning against the counter. "Don’t get used to it. I’ll always be more dangerous than I look."

Gabriel chuckled. "You make a decent cappuccino, though."

Riot rolled his eyes. "Shut up."

For the first time in years, they had peace...everything seemed normal, less painful and restricted...

But their drama did not end there...

Diane sat on the edge of the bathtub, staring at the pregnancy test in her hands.

The two lines were unmistakable.

Her heart pounded as she inhaled slowly, her fingers trembling slightly.

Gabriel was in the next room, reading through documents, completely unaware that their entire world was about to change.

She swallowed, setting the test down on the counter.

Diane had never thought about motherhood.

Never imagined it for herself.

She had spent so long fighting, surviving, ensuring no one could ever control her again.

And now?

Now she was bringing a child into this world.

Her child...Gabriel’s child.

She was inhaling and exhaling sharply.

Diane walked out of the bathroom, gripping the test in her hand.

Gabriel looked up as she entered, his brow furrowing. "You okay?"

Diane swallowed hard, then held up the test.

Gabriel stared at it. The room went silent...

A slow, dawning realisation spread across his face. His lips parted slightly, his eyes searching hers.

"...Diane."

She whimpered. "I’m pregnant."

Gabriel stood so still, she could see the rise and fall of his breath.

Then, before she could react, he crossed the room in two steps, cupping her face in his hands, pressing a kiss so gentle against her forehead that it nearly broke her.

His voice was hoarse. "Are you happy?"

Diane’s throat tightened.

She hadn’t been sure, not until now.

But with Gabriel looking at her like she was everything, with his hands stable and his love stronger than ever...

She realised she was.

A small smile formed on her lips. "Yeah. I am."

Gabriel laughed louder, pressing his forehead against hers.

"I love you," he murmured.

Diane shut her eyes. "I love you too."

Diane Hoffman ruled undisputed, her father’s empire now entirely hers.

Gabriel Frost was no longer just his father’s son—he was more.

Arthur was safe, growing up in a world that would never harm him again.

Riot had finally found peace, building something with his own hands instead of taking it by force.

And Isla...? She had no more place in Diane’s world.. rotting in prison was the only safe option for her..if she wanted to live, of course...

Diane placed a hand over her stomach, standing by the window, watching the white rose garden below.

She had spent her entire life fighting, begging for everyone’s mercy...

But now this war was finally over...

Now Diane was ready to live with her daughter- Rina...
