His gaze became increasingly sharp, and his hold around her tightened, as if he wanted to merge her into himself.

Pei Huaian did not let go, instead he held her even tighter.

When he said this, his tone was tinged with traces of worry.

Shao He pressed her lips together, unsure of how to respond, and after a moment of thought, she said, "I will not share a husband with other women. If you have thoughts of taking a concubine or a mistress, we can still call off the engagement now, while there’s still time."

At these words, Pei Huaian’s expression lightened slightly, "Say that again?"
