Chapter 454: Chapter 456 He Should Pay the Price

Yan Ze clenched his fist and kept pounding the stone door in front of him, but all his efforts were in vain. Even though his hands were already worn and bleeding, he didn’t stop.

Finally, when he was about to despair, a series of footsteps reached his ears, and he hurriedly raised his head, only to see Pei Hanze and Shao He coming.

"Prince, Doctor Shao."

"Where’s Huaian?" Shao He asked anxiously.

Yan Ze didn’t speak but turned his gaze towards the tightly shut stone door, his eyes filled with anger.

Seeing his injured hands, Shao He understood and commanded the jailers, "Open the door."

The two jailers were still hesitant when Shao He drew out a dagger and pressed it against their throats, coldly threatening, "Don’t make me do this."

The jailers, terrified, hurriedly pushed the stone door open.

Yan Ze rushed in and ran all the way to the torture room, where he found Pei Huaian with his clothes ripped open and blood continuously flowing, and a fearsome-looking man holding a spiked whip in his hand.

Pei Huaian raised his head and saw Yan Ze, barely managing to lift a pale smile, "I’m okay."

Unable to control his emotions anymore, Yan Ze glared furiously at Zhao Yuanjiang.

"You will pay the price for what you’ve done today."

"Is Master Yan threatening me?"

Watching Pei Huaian in his state, Shao He said with a cold voice, "He should pay the price now."

Having said that, she took out a silver needle and stabbed it into Zhao Yuanjiang, prompting a painful wail.

Shao He didn’t stop there; she took out a pouch of medicine powder and sprinkled it over the wound, causing an even more plaintive scream, and then she took out several more silver needles.

"We can’t kill him," Yan Ze shouted loudly.

"But we need to teach him a lesson," Shao He replied, and took out a few more silver needles from her robes, aiming them at his legs.

Yan Ze wanted to intervene, but it was already too late.

The man with a face full of scars, seeing Zhao Yuanjiang in such pain, raised his whip towards Shao He,

Pei Huaian, seeing this unfold, pushed Yan Ze aside and blocked in front of Shao He with all his might, only to hear a "snap" as the whip struck his back.

Pei Huaian bit his lip in pain, blood seeping from the corner of his mouth.

"Are you crazy?"

"I... I’m fine. Why are you here?" Pei Huaian asked worriedly, his eyes filled with tenderness.

Pei Hanze, wanting to charge forward, stopped in his tracks, his eyes filled with fury as he directed all his rage at the scarred man.

The scarred man, sensing a murderous aura, instinctively took several steps back, eyeing Pei Hanze warily.

"You dare attack a member of the royal family? You’re truly tired of living," Pei Hanze said with a grim face, his cold voice slowly articulated.

The scarred man, seeing the person approaching, once again raised his whip and swung it.

This time, Pei Hanze made no move until the whip was close, then he reached out with two fingers to catch it and with a forceful pull,

The scarred man was instantly thrown forward, Pei Hanze simultaneously delivering a kick to his chest, sending the man flying several meters away before crashing heavily to the ground.

The scarred man widened his eyes in horror; he couldn’t fathom the depth of Pei Hanze’s inner strength, as he managed to catch his whip with just two fingers, it was inconceivable!

"We should leave here first," Yan Ze reminded from the side.

"Alright."

Shao He and Yan Ze supported Pei Huaian as they walked out.

In agony, Zhao Yuanjiang tried to say something, just as a "crack" sounded from his wrist; pain upon pain was inflicted on the already suffering man!

"Ah... my hand!"

"Did you really think he was someone you could touch? It seems you’re not just tired of living; you’ve become too complacent," Pei Hanze said in a deep voice.

Before Zhao Yuanjiang could comprehend what that meant, he saw the scarred man’s clavicle being pierced by a torture instrument, with blood slowly dripping down it before eventually pooling on the floor.

"I advise you, don’t side with the wrong team. That would be the most tragic thing," Pei Hanze said indifferently.

"Who... who are you?" Zhao Yuanjiang asked, trembling with severe pain.

"What do you think?"

"Are you Prince Chen, the God of War?" Zhao Yuanjiang exclaimed in shock.

"Knowing my title, you should be aware of what to do next," Pei Hanze said casually, but his tone carried an overwhelming deterrent force.

"I, I understand," Zhao Yuanjiang said with difficulty.

Pei Hanze nodded slightly, "Good."

Having said that, he then reset Zhao Yuanjiang’s wrist and removed the silver needles from his body.

Zhao Yuanjiang collapsed to the ground, looking at the scarred man’s corpse, muttering to himself, "How could this happen?"

...

Back in the cell, Pei Huaian’s face was extremely pale, with sweat beading on his forehead.

Shao He untied his belt and slowly removed his clothes, some wounds already fused with the fabric, any force causing them to bleed. Carelessness could cause secondary injuries.

Seeing such a scene, Shao He felt her heart twinge in pain.

"Huaian, tell me where it hurts," she said.

"I’m not in pain anywhere," Pei Huaian forced a smile, but his cheek muscles twitched, causing Shao He distress.

"You’re lying to me. With injuries like these, how can you not be in pain anywhere?"

Pei Huaian weakly lifted his hand and patted her head, comforting her, "How can I be in pain when you’re here?"
