Reborn As Divine Doctor to Rule the World
Chapter 444 - 446: Who Killed Him?

Chapter 444: Chapter 446: Who Killed Him?

"Don’t..."

Shao He, covering his still-bleeding wound, walked step by step, weakly raising his hand to grasp Pei Hanze’s arm.

"Teaching him a lesson is enough," Shao He said, not wanting to invite trouble.

Pei Hanze then slowly released his grip, stretched out his hand and, picking up Shao He horizontally, carried him towards the medical hall.

Shao Mingyang knelt on the ground, holding his neck, gasping in pain, desperately breathing in fresh air after narrowly escaping death.

A pair of black boots appeared before his eyes, and Shao Mingyang slowly lifted his head upward to see a man in a mask standing in front of him.

The mask covered most of the man’s face, and though the man said nothing, his deep eyes were filled with murderous intent.

Frightened by such an enigmatic and unpredictable person, Shao Mingyang instinctively shrank back.

"Who are you?" he asked.

The masked man bent slightly, examining him carefully for a moment, then curved his lips into a light smile.

"Do you want revenge, do you want Shao He to pay a painful price, do you want the Shao Family to regain its former grace?"

The masked man’s tone was languid, yet his voice was filled with chilling coldness, sending shivers down one’s spine.

Elated, Shao Mingyang looked at him and asked, "Can you help me?"

The masked man raised his eyebrows, the curve at the corner of his mouth growing deeper, "Of course, but there will be a price to pay, think it over."

"Yes!" Shao Mingyang answered without hesitation, as long as it was enough to ruin Shao He.

The masked man picked up the dagger from the ground, walked up to Shao Mingyang.

"What... ah, you... why?" Shao Mingyang asked in disbelief, clutching at the man’s wrist with the dagger in his chest, his eyes wide with incredulity.

The masked man pulled out the dagger, calmly speaking, "Didn’t I tell you there would be a price? And this price is your life. If you aren’t dead, what reason is there to falsely accuse Shao He of murder? And why would I have any reason to make your father obey me?"

In that moment, Shao Mingyang realized he had been deceived; he grabbed the scented pouch at the man’s waist, tearing it off, then collapsed to the ground and died.

The masked man frowned slightly, bent down to pick up the scented sachet, and turned to leave.

After exiting the alley, he instructed the people waiting outside, "Throw the body at the Shao Family."

"Yes."

The man in black put the body in a sack on a cart and arrived outside the walls of the Shao family compound.

He glanced around to make sure no one was there, moved the body out of the bag, carried it over his shoulder, jumped atop the wall, and threw the body over.

The servants in the mansion, hearing the noise, hurried over, and once they saw the body on the ground, they screamed shrilly.

"Ah, ah!"

The piercing screams continuously arose, disturbing Shao Zhengru and Mei Ying, who were sitting in the room drinking tea.

The couple looked at each other and hurriedly rushed out of the courtyard, just as the steward led a group of servants running towards them, their expressions frantic and their faces extremely pale.

"What’s the matter?" Madam Zhao sternly demanded.

The steward, trembling all over, stuttered, "Master, madam, the young master... the young master is dead, he’s been... he’s been murdered!"

"What!"

The two elders were terrified and hurried toward the direction of the body, with the steward following behind.

When they reached the scene, their legs nearly gave out from under them, nearly collapsing on the ground as they recognized the body, and Mei Ying’s eyes overturned as she fainted.

Shao Mingyang lay on the ground, his life utterly extinguished.

Shao Zhengru’s eyes swept around, eventually resting on the servants, and he gritted his teeth and demanded, "What is going on here?"

The servants hung their heads, too scared to make a sound.

"Mute, are you?" Shao Zhengru shouted furiously.

The servants remained silent.

Shao Zhengru then glared furiously at the steward beside him, "You speak, what is going on here?"

"Why did Mingyang end up like this? Tell me what actually happened!"

The steward, his lips trembling, faltered for a long time without speaking.

Mei Ying, slowly regaining consciousness and pushing away the maid by her side, saw her son’s lifeless body and knelt on the ground, wailing incessantly.

"How could this happen? My perfectly fine child, how could he just suddenly die!"

"Who killed you?"

"My son!"

Shao Zhengru was overwhelmed with a mixture of emotions, looking at his only son, his heart filled with immense grief.

"How could this be, is heaven determined to end my Shao family line!"

He had already been stepping back time and again, yet why were people still forcing him onto a deadly path.

And that very night, just as Shao Zhengru was about to report to the authorities, he received a dart inscribed with: If you want to know who the murderer is, come to the old temple tonight, someone will tell you.

Shao Zhengru didn’t know who the other party was, but he knew they were targeting him, so he went alone.

When it was deep and quiet at night, a carriage stopped in front of the old temple, Shao Zhengru, dressed in black, wearing a hat, jumped down from inside the carriage.

He stood at the doorway, waiting a moment to make sure no one was following before slowly pushing open the worn wooden door.

Inside was empty except for a man in a mask sitting there drinking.

Shao Zhengru glanced around once and, seeing nothing amiss, approached.

"Who are you really, and why are you looking for me?" he asked.

"We can discuss a deal!" the man said, chuckling as he looked up at Shao Zhengru.

"What kind of deal?" Shao Zhengru asked warily.

"Don’t be nervous, I’ve actually called you here to help you take revenge," the man said, setting down his wine glass and watching him with sharp glinting eyes.
