Jia Yan stepped out of the partition, his towering figure making the whole space feel cramped.

Before him, personnel and equipment were lined up neatly. After a night of busy preparations, not only did the gravitational wave device look somewhat complete, but his set of equipment also had additional small parts installed.

Daphne stood imperiously at the front of all the creatures, with increasingly nervous beings behind her.

Each one of these creatures was personally selected by Daphne: some were powerful fighters, others were scientific geniuses, and some were strategists. In total, ten individuals were presented for Jia Yan’s selection.

The members of Earth City didn’t know about the upcoming mission. Daphne didn’t plan on revealing that Jia Yan would be leaving. Even if word about the construction of the gravitational wave device got out from the technicians, without official confirmation, nothing substantial could happen.

Jia Yan glanced at the personnel, then shifted his gaze to the refurbished gravitational wave device. In just one night, it had become much more refined, which somehow boosted his confidence.

"How is it? Is the machine ready?" he asked.

"It’s ready. We tested it last night and the signal is generally directed towards Earth. However, if you can’t handle the force of the gravitational waves, there’s a chance you could die in there!" Daphne responded with a nod.

"Okay. Is there anything else I need to be careful of? If not, let’s start preparing immediately," Jia Yan, hearing her reassurance, was somewhat relieved and began to sound a bit eager.

Daphne sighed helplessly before continuing, "The first issue is the equipment. We’ve tested it; the material can resist gravitational waves for about ten minutes. But the flow of time inside the gravitational wave could be different from the outside world, so it’d be better for you to carry the equipment in and only put it on once you’ve arrived on Earth."

Jia Yan nonchalantly nodded.

Equipment issues were a minor problem, one Jia Yan could understand. After all, gravitational waves required more than just strong metal to resist. Even Jia Yan suspected if a powerful being like Otto could endure a gravitational wave. The primary destructive power of such waves stemmed from their dissolving force. "Also, there’s the issue of personnel that I mentioned earlier. I’ve selected ten individuals, all of whom excel in their respective fields. If you can manage it, I recommend you bring them all. However, if you can’t protect them in the gravitational wave, it’s okay to leave one or two behind."

Daphne introduced the members to Jia Yan, explaining their strengths and abilities.

"Ten people..." Jia Yan muttered, deep in thought.

Daphne’s idea was quite good. The ten creatures were proficient in many areas, with some having multiple areas of expertise. Losing anyone would undoubtedly be a loss. After all, the Earth that Jia Yan was going to return to was likely in a complex state. In the future, they might even have to confront exploration ships from two civilizations directly!
