"So they belong to the North Group? Haha, the North Group hasn’t had much conflict with my faction. Since we’re both part of the Dark Realm Forces, let’s not mess with these two youngsters for now. However, send a message to the North Group later. The fact that their two Next-Level High-class Genius members are wandering outside without any escorts might mean they’re out here playing again. If one of them dies, the North Group would be devastated. Consider it a favor to them."

When a Semi-permanent Star Genius identified the identity of Jia Yan’s avatar, the attitudes of several Semi-permanent Star-level beings toward Jia Yan and his companion shifted.

"No, no, no! That’s not the right way to look at it. Although the North Group doesn’t have deep enmity with our Group of Futile Life, there has been tension between our factions for a while now. These two High-level Geniuses surely hold significant positions within the North Group’s forces. We can’t just let this slide easily. Here’s what we should do..."

However, another being surprisingly contradicted the words of the one who suggested a friendly stance.

...

Jia Yan naturally couldn’t have guessed that his appearance had caught the attention of the upper echelons of The Star of Carnival.

He was still engrossed in researching the Dark Force Star he had just arrived on.

"So, the Dark Realm Forces also have their own unique network. However, the information on it doesn’t seem too secretive."

After several inquiries and indirect probing, Jia Yan learned the special method to access the network in this Dark Realm sector. In truth, it wasn’t particularly difficult to figure out; many Outsiders simply didn’t understand it.

After entering the network in this area, Jia Yan came to understand a great deal of basic knowledge.

"The Group of Futile Life, and several other factions near it, seem to have some old grudges with them."

As Jia Yan scrolled through the information, he gained a better understanding of the space he now occupied.

"Forget it. The factions here are quite complicated. It seems this is not a place to linger for long. I’ll leave tomorrow."

After reading extensively, Jia Yan made up his mind. After all, his purpose for coming to the Dark Realm was to cultivate and reach a stronger realm. Especially given his current state of instability, he didn’t want to attract trouble.

But while he wanted to avoid trouble, trouble decided to come looking for him.

That night, as Jia Yan rested in the small hotel he was staying at, having only slumbered for half a night,

seven or eight Monsters, like ghosts lurking in the darkness, moved swiftly under the cover of shadow.

They darted through layers of space like shadows, arriving outside the small hotel where Jia Yan was staying.

"Lords, everything has been arranged. The Flying Monster and the North Group Monster are staying in the same room. We’ve already isolated it from external sounds and fluctuations. He definitely won’t know we’re coming."

A figure from the hotel came up to these shadowy beings.

If Jia Yan had seen him, he would have recognized him as the hotel owner who had enthusiastically welcomed him when he arrived the day before.

"Very good. If this succeeds, you’ll be transferred to the main headquarters and given a better position."

Among the shadowy Monsters, one of them smiled as they spoke to the owner.

"Thank you, Lord." The owner beamed with joy. After all, the headquarters the shadow was referring to was the largest chain hotel on The Star of Carnival.

"Alright, let’s get to work now. Have you cleared out everyone else inside? Oh, never mind, I’m rambling. There are only those two individuals staying here tonight anyway, which makes it convenient for us to act."

The shadowy Monsters dashed like the wind toward the top levels of the hotel.

To these Monsters, the kilometer-high hotel was no more than a mere small inn. Of course, there was nothing inaccurate about that; Jia Yan had chosen to stay at this mid-tier hotel for its unassuming nature.

The Phantom Monsters flew straight into the hotel. In less than half a second, each of them arrived at the hallway outside Jia Yan’s room.

"Open up! Charge in!"

The Phantom Monsters, familiar with coordinated operations, began executing their plan. When they reached Jia Yan’s room door, one of them took out a holographic keycard. With a single deft move, the door swung open.

Then, the group of Monsters stormed in with an aura of terrifying power!

"Ah..."

But as they entered the room, the scene before them left them all stunned.

Inside the room, instead of the two expected guests, there was a female Monster, seemingly a hotel staff member, lying unconscious on the ground.

"Damn it! They can’t have gone far. Let’s pursue them!"

The Phantom Monsters’ faces turned grim. Ignoring the unconscious staff member, they swiftly darted toward the outer areas.

Sure enough, not far from the hotel—just a few hundred kilometers away—one Monster had just stepped out of Subspace.

Behind him was a muscular and imposing Monster.

It was none other than Jia Yan and his avatar.

"Come out."

When Jia Yan reached the area, he let out a calm call.

This was one of the least populated areas on The Star of Carnival, with the nearest Monsters a hundred kilometers away.

But there were exceptions. Upon hearing Jia Yan’s command, a rustling sound came from a nearby thicket.

From the source of the sound, a petite Monster slowly emerged.

"You’re indeed impressive to have seen through my Invisibility Talent. Allow me to introduce myself again. My name is Fina."

The Monster who appeared looked at Jia Yan with surprise.

Jia Yan, however, simply scrutinized her without much expression.

It turned out she was the same female Monster Jia Yan had met in the bar upon his initial arrival on The Star of Carnival and had inquired information from.

In fact, Jia Yan had already suspected that this seemingly ordinary Dignitary-level Monster harbored a distinct form of power within her. He had considered the possibility that she might be a Secondary Level Monster.

Now that he saw her again, it was confirmed—she indeed displayed Secondary Level strength, with an exceptionally powerful Talent in concealment.

"You provided me with information and gave me this location. Even if I couldn’t detect your presence, I would have known by this." Jia Yan shook his head. "We are Mo Ke and Behalf."

She didn’t press him further on whether he had really seen through her Invisibility Talent.

"Aren’t you afraid I might betray or harm you?"

"I trust there’s no need for that. Besides, if you’ve hidden your identity so diligently on The Star of Carnival, it wouldn’t make sense to risk exposing yourself just to set up an Outsider like me."

The dialogue between Jia Yan and Fina seemed to please her.

"Alright, but let me be candid. When I saw you previously, not only did it put you under suspicion, but it also jeopardized my years-long undercover work. So I decided, before leaving, to crack into The Star of Carnival’s internal network and discovered their plan to target you. That’s why I contacted you."

"Oh? Tell me your objective. I doubt you helped me out of sheer goodwill."

Jia Yan was curious as to why this undercover Monster was helping him.

Previously, while he was in the hotel’s network on Dark Force Star, Jia Yan had received an unexpected communication from her. It turned out that during their initial encounter in the bar, when Jia Yan casually flipped through his Smart Brain, she had memorized his contact number.

A normal Monster, even with exceptional memory, wouldn’t have been able to recall such specific details. Yet this Monster had, and later used it to contact him amid her role as a bartender.

The next steps unfolded seamlessly—learning that a small force from the Group of Futile Life would soon pursue him, Jia Yan decided to leave. A hotel staff member sent to observe Jia Yan ended up getting knocked out by him during her reconnaissance.

Thanks to his Subspace Ability, Jia Yan crossed dimensions undetected by most of The Star of Carnival’s Strong Ones, finding himself at this planned rendezvous point with the undercover Monster.

"Alright, let’s cut the chatter. Now that I’ve been exposed and you two are being hunted, we must work together to leave The Star of Carnival."

The female Monster spoke with some reluctance.

She didn’t disclose which faction she was working for, but Jia Yan could imagine it must be from one of the Dark Realm Forces adjacent to the Group of Futile Life.

"Alright, let’s leave together." Jia Yan nodded.

In truth, he wasn’t particularly anxious. With his Subspace Ability, he could easily escape from even a Middle-Level Semi-permanent Star Genius, and he remained confident against a High-Level Semi-permanent Star Registry. In the worst-case scenario, he could use his avatar as a disposable shield and chess piece.

According to his research, there was only one High-Level Semi-permanent Star existence on The Star of Carnival, so naturally, he saw little to fear here.

"Alright, since we’ve agreed, let’s move. Your abilities surpass mine, but I know this planet much better than you do. Working together, we’ll surely find a way to escape."

The female Monster immediately took the lead and flew upward.

"Don’t think of escaping as simple. This planet isn’t as ordinary as it seems. They’ve modified its star significantly, installing defenses and barriers to obstruct intruders and rebels. Follow me—I’ll try to guide us through the safest route."

The female Monster suddenly accelerated!

Although her strength was only at a Middle-Level Sub-Stage Talent level, even at her maximum speed, Jia Yan and his avatar easily kept pace with her.

"Quite impressive,"

she remarked, her eyes gleaming as she glanced back at Jia Yan and his avatar.

In the Dark Realm, strength wasn’t solely judged by Talent. Across the Genius Battlefield, Talent served as merely a general guideline for measuring power. Some with exceptional Talent lacked combat power or other vital capabilities, while others with moderate Talent displayed terrifying strength.

Clearly, Jia Yan and his avatar’s speed left this female Monster deeply satisfied.
