When the explosion caused by the collision had flashed past, two terrifyingly huge figures were seen prostrating themselves on the ground.
Their attacks had been at the same location, but at this moment, neither exhibited any hint of triumph.
"Roar!"
Suddenly, one of the Three-headed Monsters let out a reproaching roar. At the same time, all three heads turned to look at the other Three-headed Monster that had followed it.
The other monster, also at the Starry Sky Venerable Level, was no less fierce and returned the gaze with equal ferocity.
In front of both creatures, a massive, seemingly bottomless pit had appeared on the ground, and the Big Mosquito that had been there before was now nowhere to be seen. It seemed to have escaped through the large hole at a critical moment!
Roar! The two Three-headed Monsters were at loggerheads, their stares filled with evident hostility. It turned out that the pair had used their Respect Level Environmental Control Abilities to try to seize the advantage of capturing the Big Mosquito first by binding each other, which slowed both of them down and allowed their prey to escape.
Of course, even if they had managed to catch up with the Big Mosquito, capturing it would not have been easy. But it was still better than the current situation where the prey had actually managed to escape.
The two monsters wanted to burrow into the ground, but the tunnel dug by the Chaos Fruit had turned into quicksand within seconds, collapsing completely.
Roar! On the surface, only two monsters remained, furiously roaring at the collapsed ground. They had a premonition that after this escape, there would be no future chance to capture the Flying Monster, which further fueled their rage.
Leaving the two angry monsters aside, it was time to mention Jia Yan, who had escaped with the Chaos Fruit at the critical moment. Even for him, it was a thrilling experience.
To Jia Yan, contending with two Supreme Monsters was a matter of life and death. Unexpectedly, it was the intact Chaos Fruit that had helped him a great deal.
Of course, even if there had been no tunnel from the other side, Jia Yan could have found another way to escape when the Supreme Monsters arrived, albeit with much greater risk. It would have been less certain than a fatal outcome, at least.
"Ga ga ga!" The Chaos Fruit that had been digging ahead, upon seeing Jia Yan and its small companion escaping, also seemed pleased, seemingly praising the Big Mosquito for its perfect timing.
"You’ve done well too, expanding the hole at just the right time," said Jia Yan softly, acknowledging the other’s merit.
However, they couldn’t communicate in each other’s language. The Chaos Fruit in front continued to widen the small tunnel it had previously arrived from, all the while eyeing its companions behind, clearly worried about whether Jia Yan might harm them.
Fortunately for the injured Chaos Fruit, Jia Yan had no intention of causing harm. It didn’t take long for the Chaos Fruit to relax slightly and begin digging the tunnel even faster.
"This Chaos Fruit’s speed is clearly much slower than when it’s at full strength, and its power is closely related to this stone it gave me. It seems this species has a high utilization rate for such stones," analyzed Jia Yan after pondering the Chaos Fruit’s power, and while burrowing forwarded, glanced at the Gray Shining Stone he controlled with his Brainwave Power.
After arriving in the deep tunnel’s depths, the stone’s glow became even more eye-catching, illuminating the surroundings.
"Where is this leading? Could it be that it understood my intention and is taking me to where these stones originate? It might well be a mineral from the Underground World, for I haven’t seen anything like it on Earth’s surface," Jia Yan wondered.
After analyzing the potential dangers, Jia Yan decided it was better to follow, since he intended for the creature to lead the way in search of possibly valuable items. Taking a bit of a risk wasn’t a big deal. Besides, considering the Chaos Fruit species’ power, it seemed unlikely to be very high, so even if he were taken to the Chaos Fruit Race’s stronghold, Jia Yan would not be afraid!
The tunnel ahead continued to plunge downward, which made Jia Yan’s doubts grow.
On a normal star, such digging would quickly reach the planet’s core, but on this vast and boundless Giant Star, thousands of kilometers only meant scratching the surface of the planet.
The creature’s speed kept increasing, and it was unclear where it was digging to.
Jia Yan analyzed the soil’s texture in the surrounding area. He could burrow through this kind of soil, just not as quickly as the Chaos Fruit, a natural burrowing species. With this knowledge, knowing that even if the Chaos Fruit planned to trap him to death underground, he was confident he could escape and thus reassured himself once more.
The Chaos Fruit, controlled by Jia Yan, was severely injured, unresponsive to its surroundings, and seemed on the verge of death. Yet, under Jia Yan’s watch, the creature was impressively tough, with only half its body remaining but still clinging to life without dying.
The Chaos Fruit ahead did not slow its rate of digging, seemingly intent on rescuing its comrade.
Finally, just as Jia Yan had grown accustomed to the downward speed and had almost stopped calculating the descent’s distance...
Boom!
The Chaos Fruit in the front suddenly broke through into a path leading to Unknown Territory, emitting a thunderous and earth-shaking loud noise.
Jia Yan looked ahead in astonishment at the space before him.
Chaos Fruit first climbed out of the passageway, and Jia Yan, too, was somewhat surprised to emerge.
For Mosquito, he couldn’t believe it, that deep beneath the surface, about ten thousand kilometers from the ground, there would be such an immensely vast space.
Yet the fact lay plainly before Mosquito’s eyes, and his disbelief finally turned into astonishment.
This was a pitch-black, colossal space.
Thanks to Jia Yan’s Mosquito physique, darkness was not a significant obstacle for him. At this moment, he used his Brainwave Power to probe the vicinity and was astonished to find that his power could not determine the size of this underground space!
"Not just a few hundred kilometers, maybe thousands of kilometers in size. Who would have thought that there could be such a vast space underground? Indeed, a Giant Star deserves its name, with even its underground spaces being so exaggerated."
"Squeak, Squeak!" The Chaos Fruit ahead of him seemed accustomed to the darkness, making noises at the front, urging Jia Yan to move forward.
Fortunately for Jia Yan, his ability to see in the dark was not half-bad. Seeing the creature ahead calling out, he followed the pace of this monster and walked on.
The space here was not even on the same scale as the ’Underground World’ on Earth, named by Jia Yan himself. If compared to Earth’s few kilometers-sized underground spaces, a single space here was akin to most of the Earth’s continental area—a world in its own right. In comparison, this place was truly deserving of the name Underground World.
A super-large Underground World!
The Chaos Fruit ahead seemed to think that Mosquito was inconvenienced by the darkness and would pause now and then to make sounds, apparently guiding the way.
Although Jia Yan could see very clearly, the glint in his compound eyes flickered briefly, and he did not reveal his ability to see the surrounding clearly, but just followed the other’s steps.
In this strange realm, even though he was confident in his own power, he trod carefully, for who knew if there exist beings with strength comparable to the Dignitaries hidden in the vastness of the underground?
"Squeak, Squeak!"
As they slowly progressed, a sound rang out when they reached the periphery of a certain area.
A flash of brilliance darted through Jia Yan’s compound eyes before it returned to normal.
In his field of vision, the source of the noise was another Chaos Fruit, but it was hidden among the rocks nearby, with strength at the peak of the Sky-level peak and apparently a combat Chaos Fruit, much more powerful than the guide.
Of course, such a force posed no threat to Jia Yan, so he felt no fear or anything of the sort.
"Squeak, Squeak, Gah Gah Squeak, Squeak!" The Chaos Fruit leading the way made the same sounds, and a conversation seemed to begin between the two.
The exchange between the two Chaos Fruits was exceptionally intense, almost like an argument. Of course, Jia Yan was well aware of the reason for the quarrel; they were undoubtedly vigilant because an outsider, namely him, had been brought into the underground.
However, the Chaos Fruit didn’t try to prevent its companion, who had led an outsider here, and after a few words of dispute, the guide turned back to Jia Yan, "Squeak," and moved forward.
With a thought, Jia Yan promptly followed.
As for the hidden Chaos Fruit, it let out a low, sharp cry before its voice quieted down. Jia Yan sensed that it was hurrying along a path, probably to report the situation.
Meanwhile, the Chaos Fruit in the lead seemed to have avoided the area where its companion had headed, taking Jia Yan on a wide detour toward another direction.
Indeed, what it tried to hide was as conspicuous as a lighthouse to Mosquito, thanks to his heat-sensing ability. There was a huge Chaos Fruit inhabitant area in the direction where the informant Chaos Fruit had gone!
Jia Yan could feel the bustling vibe from there; the breath of countless Chaos Fruits was in great abundance, probably numbering in the thousands.
What surprised him further was that among them were Star-level Chaos Fruits, even if they were only Existence in the Early Stage of Star Space. However, they had the advantage of excavating the underground, and if a conflict broke out in this subterranean region, and they all attacked at once, Jia Yan wasn’t sure he could beat them.
Nevertheless, the guide did not lead Jia Yan into the inhabitant area but slowly entered a massive valley next door.
"Hm?"
Upon entering the valley, Jia Yan no longer needed guidance to understand the situation. A wave of excitement surged in his heart!
"This place is actually a mine for Gray Shining Stone!" he exclaimed in silent amazement.
