Once inside, she spoke directly, "Dad, I’m heading south in three days. Do you have any messages or things you’d like me to take to Uncle Wang?"

Luo Haotian asked, "You really got in touch with him?"

Luo Qiao nodded, "I asked him to collect some tea for me and to check the quality of those teas. I didn’t ask for his help for nothing; I paid him according to their local rates. He’s your comrade-in-arms; I trust he won’t cheat me."

Luo Haotian asked, "What time is the train the day after tomorrow?"

Luo Qiao picked up her cup and took a big gulp of water, "The train at two in the afternoon the day after tomorrow."

Luo Haotian said, "Alright, I’ll see you off the day after tomorrow and have you take some things to him."

Since both of them had to work that afternoon, they left when it was time. Luo Qiao told them to go ahead and planned to shovel the snow in the yard before leaving.

He had heard about the chemical plant issue as well. Although he wasn’t too clear on the details, he knew that there’s no smoke without fire. The rumors couldn’t be completely unfounded; Zhao Jianing must have done something to make the chemical plant unwilling to keep her.

Luo Qiao didn’t come home empty-handed today either; with so many items in her space, she certainly had to take the opportunity to share more with her family. Besides, she couldn’t keep the secret of owning a fruit and vegetable base in the suburbs forever, nor did she want to.

Luo Qiao turned to their grandparents, "Grandpa and Grandma, did you hear that? My Big Brother is getting married!"

Zhou Guifang, with teary eyes yet smiling, said, "Heard it, heard it. We finally reached this day. Grandma’s Siyan is getting married."

Luo Qiao asked, "Big Brother, tell me, are there any requests from your fiancée’s side?"

Luo Xuyan looked at their grandparents, "Just follow our local customs here; my teacher didn’t make any requests."

Luo Qiao said, "List whatever you need, and I’ll take care of it when I go down south this time. It’s convenient since you don’t need tickets for big items there. I’ll handle the freight when I come back."

Zhou Guifang thought for a moment and said, "Wouldn’t that be too much trouble? You’re a girl traveling alone, and you have to deal with freight."

Luo Qiao smiled, "It’s fine, not troublesome at all. There are tricycles nearby that help deliver goods."

Luo Daoren looked at Luo Xuyan and said, "Go call your dad and ask him to come back from work tomorrow."

The next day, Luo Qiao told her grandmother that she was going to visit Siyan’s military base and might not be able to return that evening as she also planned to see her godfather and godmother.

Zhou Guifang gave Luo Qiao quite a lot of pickles and salted vegetables to take to Luo Siyan. Luo Qiao accepted them and then left home with the items.

She went and ordered ten roast ducks, arranging to pick them up the next morning, then bought three more to take away immediately. Finding a hidden spot, she stored them in her space.
