Chapter 602: Chapter 602: It’s Snowing, Thoughtful

Chiang Dapeng, after expressing his profound gratitude, said, "I will definitely work hard and take good care of my two younger brothers."

Chiang Dapeng knew that he could no longer rely on his mother and that he probably wouldn’t have the face to return to the family residential area. Besides, his grandmother had made it clear that she no longer recognized her as the Chiang family’s daughter-in-law. So, he had to rely on himself."

What he didn’t know was that Luo Qiao had asked Xu Shiqing to go to the school and pay the final year of miscellaneous fees for both Chiang Erpeng and Chiang Sanpeng, giving them a transition period.

When she left her master’s house, it was still a light snowfall. By the time she boarded the bus, the snow had started to come down heavily, and soon the road was a blanket of white. Looking out of the window, she thought this must be what books describe as ’feather-like heavy snow.’ In her previous life, global warming had meant that the city where she lived rarely experienced such heavy snowfalls.

Luo Qiao watched intently and suddenly remembered that her master and his wife didn’t bring an umbrella when they went out. If the snow kept up, they would likely be covered in snow walking back from school.

Knowing that there was a department store not far ahead, Luo Qiao got off the bus at the next stop, intending to see if they sold rain boots and umbrellas. Rain boots would let them cover their shoes, keeping them dry while walking.

She went straight to the shoe counter. Perhaps because of the snow, there were not many customers. After looking for a while and not finding what she wanted, Luo Qiao asked, "Excuse me, do you sell rain boots?"

Perhaps the salesperson was surprised someone was looking for rain boots in the dead of winter and said with some astonishment, "Are you talking about the rain boots worn in summer?"

Luo Qiao nodded, "Do you have any?"

The salesperson looked at someone not far away from her, and that person said, "We should have some in the storage room. What size do you need? I’ll go check for you. I’m not sure we have all the sizes, as they are leftovers from summer sales."

Luo Qiao replied, "A pair of size forty-three and a pair of thirty-nine, one for a man and one for a woman, please."

The salesperson asked her to wait a moment and left the counter; it took over twenty minutes to come back with four pairs of rain boots – a pair of tall size forty-three and a pair of short ones, two pairs of size thirty-nine rain boots, one black and one off-white.

The salesperson said, "These are produced by the Shanghai Dazhonghua Rubber Second Factory. Which style do you prefer?"

Luo Qiao chose two pairs of the short rain boots, picking the off-white ones for the size thirty-nine. She then went to the umbrella counter and bought three umbrellas. After paying, she left the department store and crossed the street to take the bus to Capital University."

When Feng Shumin saw her, she asked in surprise, "Why are you back again? Did something happen?"

Luo Qiao quickly said, "No problem, I just noticed that the snow is particularly heavy today, and who knows when it will stop. By the time your classes end, the snow could be over your shoes.

I’ve brought you rain boots. I bought them a size bigger so you can just slip them on. They’re waterproof, warm, and slip-resistant. I’ve also brought two umbrellas for you to use when you go back, or you’ll turn into snowmen."

Luo Qiao was genuinely worried about her master and his wife; they wouldn’t just skip school because it was snowing, but as they were old and had no one to look after them, she felt she had to be extra attentive.

Feng Shumin had been chuckling about her husband at noon, but now she felt a warmth in her eyes. She felt that this life had indeed been worthwhile.

Feng Shumin introduced Luo Qiao to the people in her office, "This is Luo Qiao, the last disciple of Old Yang and me."

Luo Qiao greeted the other teachers in the office with confidence, "Hello everyone, I’m Luo Qiao."

The teachers in the office also greeted Luo Qiao with smiles. One of them said, "Professor Feng, your little apprentice is not only good-looking, but also very considerate."

Feng Shumin walked Luo Qiao to her own spot, "This child is indeed thoughtful; she’s been taking care of us ever since we returned to the Capital."

The smile and pride on her face were simply undeniable.

Luo Qiao placed the items next to her mistress’s desk, stood up, took out a bag of candy from her crossbody bag, and placed a few candies on each of the teachers’ desks, saying with a smile, "Please look after my mistress more in the days to come."
