Chapter 242: Chapter 242 Chaos

The next day, Luo Qiao put on makeup and took a trip to the Mechanical Factory Residential Compound, adding fuel to the fire. Whenever she heard discussions about Luo Jianing’s origins, she would mention the Zhao Family, and the compound became even livelier.

After making a round and feeling satisfied, Luo Qiao finished her work and prepared to attend to her own matters. She first went to the train station, bought a train ticket back to Ji City for the next morning, and then visited several black markets.

She arranged a drop-off location and released three batches of goods. It wasn’t until late into the night that she returned to the hotel. Fortunately, her train ticket for the next day was for nine in the morning. When she woke up, it was already past eight.

She hastily got up, washed up a bit, had breakfast in her space, then checked out and headed for the train station.

While she nonchalantly spread the news and left, the Luo Family was in an uproar.

Luo Haotian was already in a bad mood. He hadn’t eaten breakfast and was preparing to go to work, but unfortunately, before he could leave, Old Master Luo and the matriarch came over.

Luo Haotian asked, "Dad, Mom, what brings you here?"

Old Master Luo snorted coldly and entered the courtyard, while the matriarch said, "If we hadn’t received the message, when were you planning to inform us?"

Luo Haotian said, "Dad, Mom, this matter still needs investigation; we can’t just listen to what others say."

Old Master Luo said, "There’s no good saying about this. Let’s go to the hospital now and start with a blood type test."

It was then that Ning Xueling came out of the room, "Dad, Mom, there’s no need to go to the hospital to test."

She handed over Luo Jianing’s hospital record from her last stay which clearly stated that Luo Jianing had AB blood type.

Ning Xueling said, "I called there early this morning. I had asked a friend to investigate when I first learned of this, and now we have some leads.

However, we still need to go and confirm it ourselves. Since the issue has come up, we should go there as soon as possible to find out what mistake has been made in the middle."

The matriarch stared at Ning Xueling and asked, "Why didn’t you tell us about this beforehand when you knew?"

Ning Xueling, feeling somewhat wronged, said, "Wasn’t I just afraid of deepening the misunderstanding? But I’ve thought it through now. This isn’t something unspeakable. Since we know there was a mix-up, we should find a way to locate mine and Haotian’s daughter and try to bring her back to the Capital ASAP."

Old Master Luo then spoke up, "Why was the child swapped at that time? I remember when she was brought back, the blanket was ours, your mother made it with her own hands. From this point alone, it’s clear the child was purposely switched.

We can’t even say for sure whether our Luo family’s child is dead or alive. My suggestion is that you two take leave and go there as soon as possible. If work is truly busy and you can’t get leave, then hand it over to the police there. I want to know the outcome as soon as possible."

Luo Jianing, who was eavesdropping from her room, accidentally knocked a soap dish off the washstand next to her, startling everyone in the courtyard.

Ning Xueling, feeling heartache, went over and pushed open the door to see Luo Jianing sitting on the ground picking up the soap, tears streaming down her face.

Ning Xueling walked up and pulled up her daughter, "Jianing, since you’ve already heard, Mom doesn’t want to keep secrets. Rest assured, no matter what happens, you will always be Mom’s daughter. You were raised by Mom’s hands, and I will respect your choices."

Unable to control herself anymore, Luo Jianing burst into tears, "Mom, if they find that daughter, does that mean they won’t want Jianing anymore?"

Ning Xueling held Luo Jianing, "That won’t happen, you’ll always be Mom’s daughter."

Outside, the grandmother, Zhou Guifang, snorted coldly, "After enjoying the treatment due to my granddaughter for fifteen years, how can she still cling on and refuse to let go?"

Luo Haotian was also conflicted. Various signs indicated that the child had indeed been switched deliberately, as the clothes and blanket were theirs, which couldn’t have been a mere coincidence.

Luo Haotian said he needed to go to his workplace today to make arrangements, then he would take leave to go there in person.

No matter how chaotic the Capital was, Luo Qiao was already on the train back to Ji City. She calculated that she should arrive around twelve at night, visit Qingshan Village tomorrow, and then report to school the day after.

In Ji City, when Zhang Jianjun received Luo Haotian’s call, he was quite surprised. Luo Haotian, however, didn’t beat around the bush and simply repeated the story of the child being switched to him.
