He felt Arabella’s eyes on him as he walked to the door.

Ferdinand wanted to turn around and tell Alvis to undo the spell so he could look at Arabella’s face right now.

Instead, he continued walking even when his footsteps felt heavy.

’Nothing’s going on between them,’ Ferdinand assured himself.

After all, he heard Arabella had been busy with work this whole time.

She must have gone here to visit Alwin.

What Ferdinand did not understand was why she needed to hide from him.

He paused right before going out of Alwin’s room before he knew it.

Ferdinand could not stomach leaving this room without acknowledging her presence or speaking with her.

Closing his eyes for a few seconds, he took a deep breath and Arabella’s scent in the room immediately relaxed him.

Ferdinand touched his wedding ring and said to Arabella, {I’ll see you in your room tonight.}

{Y-Yes, I’ll be waiting for you...}

Arabella’s sweet voice resounded in his head.

It seems she was not angry with him as he formerly thought.

Ferdinand could not help but smile.

He could not see her nor did he glance her way; but somehow, he could tell she was blushing right now.

The way her voice sounded embarrassed, because of what his words implied, was adorable.

’Right... She said she likes me now too.’

Just with this thought, his steps felt lighter.

Instead of a frown, Ferdinand had a smile on his face as he walked out of Alwin’s room.

Recalling Arabella’s sweet words of affirmation last time, the fear, uneasiness, and pain Ferdinand felt earlier were replaced with a fluffy warmth that eased even the signs of exhaustion from more than a week without sleep.

Her repeated words of affirmation, her actions these past months, and the way she worked hard as the Empress saying it was because she wanted to help him, assured Ferdinand that Arabella was indeed into him now.

That there was no need to overthink all these and he just had to ask her later for clarification.

After all, when he returned last time, Arabella had missed him a lot too.

He could still clearly recall how her faced looked as she held back on not asking him to stay a bit longer; but her eyes said it all.

Knowing she misses him too was heartwarming.

Even just the thought of it felt so nice that Ferdinand felt like he was in Arabella’s soft and warm embrace.

Even just getting a whiff of her scent and being in the same room as her was such a treat.

He had to admit he sorely missed her more than he wanted to admit.

Ferdinand still could not understand how he ended up cherishing someone this much. He might never understand how and why but he would never let her go.

Still, sometimes he could not help but wonder if she would ever cherish him as much as he cherished her.

But in the end, he was already very much grateful for what they have now.

Wishing for so much more and getting too greedy might only make him suffer.

Ferdinand was scared to cross that line. He did not want to lose what they currently have.

So for now, he is satisfied with everything Arabella was giving him.

Still, at times, he could not help but want to tease his wife a bit just to get a bit more out of her.

Even the smallest reactions and signs of affection from Arabella, Ferdinand wanted to get them all.

Thus, he added something else to what he formerly said to Arabella.

{I want to embrace you tonight.}

{ ..... Y-Yes.....}

Ferdinand was delighted with her reply and could not help but smile.

Her voice sounded even more embarrassed and Ferdinand knew her face must be red right now.

He wished he could have seen it for himself. But he must hold back for now.

It had been a while since he last saw her; but he must do his work first, or else, Arabella’s efforts would be in vain.

She’s working so hard for his sake; so Ferdinand wanted to do the same.

Especially now that they had a lot of issues to deal with.

{You must have an adorable expression right now.

Don’t let Alvis see it.

I might kick him out if he sees your expression right now when I can’t even get a look.}

Ferdinand warned and finally hastened his pace to his study.

He must finish up what he needed to do so he could visit her later as he promised.

Raymond noticed Ferdinand’s actions and inquired, "Her Majesty was in there?"

"I didn’t feel her presence at all! Her Majesty was there?!" Zion was surprised and wanted to know the answer as well.

"Yes," Ferdinand satisfied their curiosity. "Alvis hid her with a spell."

Even with limiters, Alvis had stronger powers than Raymond and Zion since he had access to the Sacred Tree even here.

Thus, the two did not notice Arabella’s presence at all.

Further, Alwin’s room had all sorts of spells and barriers in place so it was almost a separate dimension from the entire Magic Tower.

Ready to leave, Raymond and Zion glanced at each other and said at the same time, "Then, we will continue our report later."

"No, I already told her, I’ll meet her tonight," Ferdinand corrected.

"Oh, then we should work quickly," Raymond smiled, knowingly.

"Yes," Ferdinand replied and the two men with him chuckled.

He simply scowled at them and walked to his study.

Ferdinand wanted to get work done as soon as possible so he could finally see Arabella.

After all, Alwin was safe and sound and only needed to fully recover and taught a lesson or two.

Since Elrond was the one who taught him the forbidden spell, it was likely he already knew Alwin used it and had given him special permission for whatever reason.

Ferdinand would speak with Elrond or Alwin about it later.

The matter with Alwin was resolved for now, so what’s left to discuss were the matters about the restoration of Crux, the meeting with the Pope, and the reappearance of anti-magic weapons and the poison that hurt Alwin.

As for the culprits, of course, those bastards must pay for what they did.
