Reborn as a Mind-Reading Empress
Chapter 846: Who Got Hurt?

Chapter 846: Chapter 846: Who Got Hurt?

The knights were elated by the news and it helped increase their morale after today’s hard work.

Crux had a small land area compared to others they had fought before, so it was not at all a surprise that it took only a short amount of time.

Ferdinand had already estimated it would only last a day.

No, he had wanted it that way.

In most territories he had conquered for Valeria, it never took months or years to take a territory once they attacked.

He did not want it taking too long since it would only exhaust their resources for no reason.

Crux was only spared to have had months of chance before the attack was finally held because of the Prudencians they had.

But Crux became too full of themselves and wasted too much of their time.

Now, that the war with them was over, they could finally focus here once the clean up in Crux was over.

Ferdinand let the Grand Commander take care of those matters.

For the following days, Ferdinand kept going around the afflicted territories to quell the people’s anger and stop them from harassing the knights and magicians both in their words and actions.

A lot of people were imprisoned in Sibruh and the smaller territories because they were violent and unruly despite Ferdinand’s warning.

He was so busy that he did not even have the time to ask for the complete report about Crux.

Aside from the report the day the war ended, no one came to give him a full report either so he let it be. He figured there were still a lot of things that were in process.

On the third day, Zion finally visited Ferdinand for a full report.

Ferdinand frowned when Zion reported that Crux hired necromancers. It was why they thought they had a chance to win since Valeria’s number would have bit them back.

’It had been a while since there were necromancers around. But it’s not like they are impossible to defeat.’

Ferdinand had been faced with such countless times and they were not at all difficult to eradicate, especially when he’s in dragon form.

However, for the current human realm and the younger generation of the long-lived races, it had been a while since they were faced with necromancers. Thus, they might seem impossible to defeat at first.

There were ways to deal with the undead soldiers, but it might be hard for those who had no experience with them.

"These weapons have also resurfaced. They used it against our magicians," Zion showed an arrow placed in a glass container.

Ferdinand picked it up and frowned as the arrow burned his fingers and he felt a familiar pain as its poison seeped through the burn wound.

"Weapons like these were banned after the Great War. Why would they have this? Did we get any casualties?!"

Ferdinand was alarmed when he realized someone among the long-lived races who came here with him as magicians could have died from this since no one was expecting this weapon to reappear again.

It would simply pass through magic barriers, or rather it would cancel out the spells so it was most dangerous to their magicians.

"None, Your Majesty," Zion assured him. "However..."

Ferdinand tensed when Zion hesitated to tell him something. Something told him he wouldn’t like what Zion would say next.

"Are there a lot who were injured? Send them back to Estrella at once so they can recover immediately," Ferdinand speculated this must be why.

Unlike the Great War when they were taken by surprise, even if there were those who were poisoned, they could be treated now as long as there’s enough mana.

However, that’s only if they did not get a strong amount of the said poison. And if they had enough mana or strength to counter the poison while help was not there yet.

It was fast acting so a deep wound from this arrow would be lethal to anyone who did not build resistance from this poison.

But the concentration of the poison in this weapon was high. They could die immediately from this.

Thankfully, Ferdinand had only brought those who had built a certain resistance to poisons.

None of them would die immediately from this even if someone got hit. They would be able to treat them.

However, the extent of their recovery depends on how badly they were wounded and how much of the poison their resistance could manage.

Hopefully, none suffered too much from it.

Too many of the long-lived races had died in the Great War so even a single person dying was too much of a loss for them. Especially with their population not even close to recovering.

"There was only one person who got hurt and poisoned from it since they only used it in the Alba and Heron Estate," Zion explained.

Ferdinand was relieved that not many were hurt.

"Then, why did you hesitate to say it. Who got hurt?" Ferdinand inquired.

There was a long pause once again before Zion replied, "It’s Alwin."

"What?!" Ferdinand froze at the news.

Of all people that could be hurt from that arrow, he thought it would not be Alwin.

Even if Alwin preferred magic, he still studied under him and Ferdinand was proud Alwin learned it all well.

"How did he get hurt? Is it deep? No, bring me back to Riva. I’ll see it for myself."

Now he knew why he had a bad feeling about Zion’s news.

Ferdinand rose and quickly gave orders to his knights who would remain here and continue the work as usual.

"Yes, Your Majesty," Zion smiled weirdly at his reaction.

Ferdinand frowned, "What is it?"

"Nothing. I just thought Alwin would be delighted if he saw your face right now," Zion chuckled.

Ferdinand just raised a brow not understanding what Zion meant.

More importantly, he was relieved when he figured Alwin’s injury might not be that bad if Zion could smile and laugh like this.

After giving instructions to the knights, Ferdinand returned to Riva.

He gulped as he stood outside Alwin’s door.

When was the last time Alwin got hurt? The thought of Alwin being injured and bloody did not suit him at all.

Ferdinand suddenly hesitated to enter.
