Chapter 790: Chapter 790: What Kind of Tasks Needs to be Done?

Alwin and Rendell were not even looking at them anyway.

Thus, Arabella enjoyed being in a princess-carry until they reached the dining hall.

She noted not to refuse holding Ferdinand’s hand or avoid looking at him for too long.

They had dinner together and simply shared a kiss before Ferdinand returned to Sibruh.

Arabella listed everything she needed to do for the following day and went to sleep early.

She gets tired more easily on her periods so she did not overwork herself today. Especially since Ferdinand even reminded her to get enough sleep.

The next morning, Arabella had a bit of cramps but a warm bath and warm meal helped her feel comfortable.

She was always more sensitive to the cold during her periods. Thus, she wore warmer clothing as well before going to her office.

Winter was just around the corner and mornings and evenings had become more chilly.

"Greetings to Your Majesty," her assistants instantly greeted her when she arrived at her office.

"Good morning, everyone. Let’s have a meeting first, shall we? I have something important to say," Arabella said as her inner office was opened. She did not remove her coat and simply went to her seat instead.

"Yes, Your Majesty," they followed after her.

"I believe all of you must have heard from your households by now that we will be at war with Crux in a few days," Arabella began.

Her assistants nodded, already informed by their families indeed.

"As you already know, our main goal is to take back the Prudencians that the people of Crux refused to return. All the Prudencians we will be able to rescue will be brought to the Magic Tower for healing and recuperation before they are allowed to return to Prudencia," Arabella explained.

Odette fully knew about this since it was what they did with the Prudencians rescued before.

"In the past months, mages of the Mages of the Magic Tower took care of them all on their own.

However, due to the circumstances, the mages have key roles in the war this time and are also occupied with a lot of matters so only a few will remain in the Magic Tower.

The Prudencians we have rescued from Crux in the past usually had some sort of injury and suffered from trauma from their experiences as slaves in Crux," Arabella continued.

Odetted gritted her teeth since she had seen exactly what her people had looked like when they were just rescued from Crux.

"The situation might be even worse now since they had been in Crux for long and had been hidden very well for us not to find them.

Thus, once they are brought to the Magic Tower, we need a lot of hands to take care of them. The chefs and all kitchen staff will be busy preparing meals for them.

All maids and butlers in the palace are obligated to take care of them.

His Majesty and His Excellency’s assistants will also join us and help take care of the Prudencians.

And now, you, my dear assistants, also need to help since we still lack in numbers.

We need as many hands as we can.

Are you willing to help?" Arabella asked as she watched their reactions.

"Yes, of course, Your Majesty," they replied in unison.

Arabella was delighted by their response.

"However, there’s a catch.

If you decide to help, you have to help everyone regardless of their appearance and status.

They are people who have suffered so much so you are not allowed to refuse to help someone and choose the other because they look more neat or more decent.

And they are commoners.

If you cannot take care of commoners because you are from the noblest households of Valeria, then you better say it now.

I will not take it against you.

I understand you may have certain rules in your household you must abide by to maintain the honor and pride of your family.

If you cannot join there, you will remain here in the office and do your work as usual."

Arabella had to say this so they knew what she was expecting of them.

It would be horrible if they went to help but act all high and mighty there instead of helping or acting all disgusted because of seeing or smelling some filth.

Her assistants glanced at each other as they hesitated.

"I will go. They are my people," Odette immediately said.

Even when not asked to go, Odette had been going to help everytime she received reports that Prudencians were rescued and were in the Magic Tower for recuperation.

"I will go as well, Your Majesty. I’m just a commoner too anyway," Nadia said, humble as usual.

Nadia never looked at herself as a princess or noble lady even if she was the daughter of the former Safiro Chieftain and now the brother of the Chief.

"I will go as well. I know how I can help but will do my best," Oscar, who was raised in a family of knights, was quick to help when asked.

"I will go as well, Your Majesty," Ronald also agreed to help since he still felt guilty for not being able to help Ivan when he was getting bullied by Narcissa

"I will go as well," Egbert was also from a family of knights and had been raised to help people regardless of status.

Now, only four people have not responded yet.

Arabella eyed Narcissa, Norbert, Felix, and Denzel.

Norbert raised his hand and Arabella nodded so he spoke, "Your Majesty, I have a question."

"Yes, what is it?"

"What kind of work are we going to do there? I, for one, grew up just reading books and learning about the sword. I’m not sure I will be of any help if I go there. I am not educated in taking care of sick or injured people," Norbert explained.

"Good point," Arabella smiled.

Norbert just raised a question everyone wanted to ask but hesitated to do so in fear of being judged they did not want to go due to personal reasons.
