Chapter 786: A Thoughtful Husband

Chapter 786: Chapter 786: A Thoughtful Husband

Everyone in the throne room did not want to give more time to Crux.

"Your Majesty, I believe it’s time to settle this. If they are given an extension, they might ask for another when the time is up once again," Head Minister Adelard concluded.

The ministers and household heads gathered in the throne room seconded Adelard. They also believe Crux had gone too far to be forgiven.

With everyone in unison about this, there was no issue with Ferdinand declaring the attack.

"It is good that we are all on the same page about this. We will attack Crux as planned and bring home the remaining Prudencians they have," Ferdinand declared.

Everyone was visibly delighted by this. They were not at all worried about losing because they were sure to win.

[Thank goodness! We are not yet in a state where we can win against Crux on our own. With His Majesty’s army, I’m sure we would see our people again. Everyone will be delighted with this news.] Odette’s older brother sighed in relief as Ferdinand finally pronounced those words.

"However, we have a change of plans," Ferdinand added and the room became silent again as they waited for him to continue. He then said, "We were supposed to just reclaim the Prudencians. But now, we will take Crux and make it a vassal state."

The room was silent as they processed this before they finally cheered in approval, "Long live His Majesty!"

[This is exactly what we needed!]

[I knew His Majesty would not forgive them. Aside from making Prudencians as slaves, they even attempted on Her Majesty’s life.]

[Crux had gone too far so we needed to show everyone in Eliora and beyond that there’s no forgiveness for those who go too far.]

[I’m glad I sent my sons to join the knights at the borders! This will be a good addition to their achievements.]

The nobles and ministers had various motivations but they were all delighted by Ferdinand’s declaration.

Those who sent their sons to the borders of Prudencia to join the knights there were the most delighted since helping conquer a new territory would be a great achievement for their household and serve as more proof of their allegiance and loyalty to the empire.

"Grand Knight Commander," Ferdinand said and he came forward and kneeled. "You will lead the army in my stead and take Crux kingdom."

"Yes, Your Majesty."

"Master of the Magic Tower," Ferdinand called Alwin next. "Assign magicians to focus on getting back the Prudencians."

"Yes, Your Majesty," Alwin replied.

The magicians were, in truth, actually already deployed in Crux though but they could not publicize such a thing.

They had to keep the deal with Princess Seraphina a secret first as well and only give instructions to those who would truly be in the battlefield.

"This is all for today," Ferdinand ended the session after the discussions about Crux.

Their subjects were so hyped about the sure victory that they forgot to inquire about what Ferdinand had been busy with the past week for him to be absent and what was going on in Sibruh and the neighboring territories.

Some only recalled as they were leaving the Throne Room and could not ask about it anymore since Ferdinand had already ended the session.

They had to assume it was not yet as Arabella had said last time.

"Let’s go and have lunch together. After eating, let’s meet with others to discuss the plan in detail," Ferdinand rose and offered his hand to Arabella.

"Yes, of course," Arabella was glad she was invited to their meeting once again.

"Alwin, tell everyone to gather after lunch," Ferdinand instructed.

Alwin nodded and left to inform those who would be with them in the meeting.

"Are you still alright? Or should I carry you? If it hurts anywhere, you should retire to your room," Ferdinand checked her in worry.

Arabella smiled. It was nice to be cared for like this. "I’m alright. It doesn’t hurt anywhere."

She just needed to change after eating to ensure that there won’t be any blood on her clothes later since their meeting might last long.

"I see, alright then," Ferdinand nodded and held her hand as they walked to the dining hall. He suddenly inquired out of the blue, "I heard ladies feel weak when on their period and easily get marks on their body. Is it alright to wear heels? What if you accidentally trip and hurt?"

’His worried about my shoes again?’

Arabella was wearing high heels to match her official garb and make her look more imposing.

"We do. But I have been eating well lately so I don’t feel weak at all. And my shoes today feel so light and comfortable. I don’t even feel like I’m wearing heels. Were these shoes always this light and comfortable?" Arabella wondered.

Her shoes the past few days felt light and comfortable as well and no longer made her foot ache as they used to.

[Ah, it seems the spells I added last time were effective.] Ferdinand thought.

"Oh, you did something to my shoes?" Arabella eyed her husband in surprise.

"Yes, I just used a spell to make them light and comfortable so you won’t suffer while wearing them," Ferdinand scratched the back of his head and looked away.

"You did it to all my shoes?" Arabella further inquired since all the shoes she had worn after his last visit felt comfortable.

"Yes."

"Oh my, thank you!" Arabella stopped walking and reached out. She gave me a peck on the cheeks.

[Why does it feel so special when she kisses me on the cheek? Was it because she was thanking me? Or because she looks so pretty when she smiles like this?]

Ferdinand’s ears turned red as he smiled and kissed her on the lips.

"I have such a thoughtful husband," Arabella smiled and she received another peck on the lips.

[It feels so good when she compliments me.] Ferdinand squeezed her hand.
