Chapter 767: Signing
Chapter 767: Chapter 767: Signing
"It seems we are all on the same page. If there are no changes, then we can proceed to the signing. However, please beware that this is a magic contract," Raymond finalized.
Princess Seraphina and her companions have Jacob and Emily with them so they knew that breaking a magic contract had heavy consequences that could possibly lead to death.
"Do you still wish to continue?" Arabella eyed Princess Seraphina and her companions.
"Yes, Your Majesty," they all replied in unison.
[Our chance to change Crux is finally in our hands; we will not back down now.]
’I see. They are determined to see these through,’ Arabella smiled and nodded to Ferdinand.
Ferdinand understood her wordlessly and nodded back. He gave Raymond the go signal to proceed.
"The signing of the agreement shall now begin," Raymond then explained the process of signing a magic contract with Valeria for everyone from Crux would not to be shocked.
Meanwhile, Alwin, who remained invisible, made another two copies of the contract so there were three in total and settled it all on the table.
To their guests’ eyes, it was like the magic contract simply appeared on the table. It surprised them and made them think Raymond, the Prime Minister of Valeria, might be a magician as well, but they did not dare comment as their focus was on the signing of the agreement.
[It has finally come to this!]
[Crux will be saved!]
[Our people will finally stop suffering needlessly.]
[The gods had not forsaken us.]
Princess Seraphina’s side were made to sign firsts. When all of them were done, Arabella and Ferdinand did as well and their witnesses followed.
Once everyone had signed, the magic contract glowed a golden light and the center copy which was dedicated to the Dragon God floated into the air, was consumed in flames, and vanished.
In Valeria, it was a sign that the magic contract was complete and approved even by the Dragon God of Valeria himself and thus, could continue.
A magic contract that did not get such a reaction was not approved by the Dragon God and had to be redone with revisions.
Thankfully, Raymond had explained for their guests so their eyes brightened up in what they witnessed.
"The Dragon God has approved. The deal is now complete," Ferdinand declared with finality.
"Our deepest gratitudes, Your Majesties," Princess Seraphina and her companions all bowed deeply.
Arabella smiled at the sight of them holding back tears of joy.
[We did it! We finally did it!] Princess Seraphina and Prince Sebastian hugged each other.
[I’m sure Samantha is so proud of these two.] Duke Alba thought as he smiled affectionately as he watched his grandchildren.
[They are indeed the rightful heirs of Crux. They had led us to victory in such an outlandish way. I pray the people of Crux will not disappoint them anymore and value this precious gift.] The marquess nodded in approval.
[Finally! Everyone will be free. Everyone’s efforts and hardwork was worth it! Sera and Bastian had done so much!] Jacob and Emily shared a smile at each other as they also held back their emotions.
Even their knight Harold was visibly emotional as he watched over the twins.
Each of the two remaining copies of the magic contract was then placed into a secure box. One was handed to Crux’s side while another was to Valeria’s side.
"Since this is an internal arrangement, for safety purposes, this box can only be opened by those who are present here today," Raymond explained for Princess Seraphina and her companions.
"Yes, Your Excellency. We are grateful for this safety measure. We will treasure this," Prince Sebastian replied as he accepted the box.
"Now, then as agreed, present all the information you have about the remaining Prudencians in Crux," Ferdinand went back to business after silently letting the Crux’ side celebrate their success in acquiring this deal.
This was what Arabella had been waiting for as well.
"Yes, Your Majesty," the twins replied in unison. They glanced at Jacob and Emily and the two mages brought out documents.
Prince Sebastian received a rolled scroll from Jacob first and presented it, "Your Majesty, these are the locations of Prudencians we had been able to ascertain."
As the Prince spread the scroll on the table, it revealed a map of Crux. There were areas with circles around them which indicated the locations of Prudencians being hidden.
’There are still so many!’ Arabella gulped, instantly feeling grateful and relieved that they had agreed to this deal.
If they had refused Princess Seraphina, they could have lost all these Prudencians.
There are a lot of circles in the map spread all over Crux. However, it was concentrated in the capital.
[How could this be?] Ferdinand and Raymond both frowned as they eyed the map. They both had the same thoughts.
[How were the nobles able to hide these many without getting found by the people we sent to search?] Rendell was also puzzled.
[We have searched Crux repeatedly, especially the capital, but why were we unable to find the remaining Prudencians when most that remained were hidden there? We thought they had relocated them to farther areas to conceal them.] Alwin was also taken aback.
Ferdinand glanced at Jacob and Emily who immediately tensed up nervously under his gaze, "Did you use these two mages to find these locations?"
"No, Your Majesty. We found it by observing the nobles and their other slaves’ movements these past months. We had a lot of members spread over the kingdom and we shared information with each other," Prince Sebastian clarified.
"I see. That makes sense then," Ferdinand said as his gaze was once again back to the map.
[These two mages seem capable but they are far from Alwin and everyone else’s level. That child Arabella picked up might catch up to these two in just a few years. No, he is already more capable than them in fire magic and sensitivity to mana. It could not be that they found the location using these two searching Crux when our mages cannot find them.] Ferdinand reflected.
Arabella knew he was right since there was no way Alwin and the others would have missed the location if it was something that could be found through magic.
