"That wasn’t it. Of course, I have it! I wasn’t incapable or anything!" Ferdinand desperately tried to correct her misunderstanding.

"Then, what is it?" Arabella searched his face and wanted to laugh due to the expression he was making. She did her best to look the same as usual since Ferdinand might feel insulted if she lets out her laughter.

"I have work to do. I’ll see you later," Ferdinand reasoned again and teleported before she could reply.

’Geez. What’s wrong with him? Now that he’s this embarrassed to say it, it makes me even more curious.’

Arabella wanted to go and pester him about it, but she decided to wait until he was ready to tell her.

However, that night, Arabella had another dream and what Ferdinand was trying to hide from her was revealed in it.

One of the reincarnations before her pursued Ferdinand so much and made him fall for her to the point he was willing to try being a couple with her.

Back then, Ferdinand’s human form looked like a twenty-year-old man.

At that time, Ferdinand had already raised the second generation of ice dragons and they had already left his island to have their own territory.

And he encountered Ellie’s reincarnation again after a long while of not meeting one because he was busy with the young ice dragons. Or she was simply not reincarnated again for a while.

This time she was called Eliana. Her hair and eyes were purple. And her hair was long and wavy.

Eliana was a celestial nymph who once resided in the primordial celestial dragon’s abode.

She once served as one of the assistants of the primordial celestial dragon, Elrond.

Elrond was the first dragon ever created and thus, was the oldest among the primordial dragons. He had allowed other celestial beings to live in his abode as long as they do not bother him.

Eliana was one of those beings and she worked for him. As the eldest, Elrond was already receiving tasks from the God of Dragons back then. Among those tasks was to monitor the other primordial dragons (but never meddle unless given permission) and submit his report on significant events to their creator.

Elrond hired celestial beings to assist him in his tasks and Eliana was one of those.

She encountered Ferdinand when he visited Elrond and stayed there to learn celestial magic and in exchange, teach Elrond ice magic.

Eliana was in love with Elrond at first, but she slowly fell in love when Ferdinand during his stay in Elrond’s abode.

Curious about life on land, she spoke a lot with Ferdinand. He answered her questions and satisfied her curiosity by talking about some of his experiences.

This made the two grow close and develop feelings for each other. However, Ferdinand was once again clueless about his and thought Eliana was just a friend.

Eliana became so in love with Ferdinand that she decided to follow him once he goes back home. She pretended it was just to experience what she had only been hearing from him.

Ferdinand became her guide and as Eliana had planned, she asked to stay with Ferdinand in his abode since she had nowhere else to stay in.

And as planned, Eliana tried to seduce Ferdinand while they were living together. But Ferdinand could not be seduced.

She lived with Ferdinand for a while and with no success. But she did notice that Ferdinand seemed to like her too.

Eliana got Ferdinand to talk more about his experiences even the times he encountered ladies. From those, she learned that he always rejected love confessions or did not understand them.

Thus, Eliana decided to use another method. She became upfront and direct with it.

One day, she suddenly kissed Ferdinand on the cheek, and he froze.

"What are you doing?!" Ferdinand asked her with shock.

Eliana was taken aback by his reaction but persevered. She explained that it was a way of expressing that someone was important to her.

"Humans do it too," Ferdinand responded since he had observed humans a lot by then.

"Yes, couples do it a lot," Eliana smiled, hinting that she wanted them to be couples too.

Ferdinand then explained that he had no plans to be a couple with anyone. That he had no plans to get a mate or have children. It was upright rejection and quite a harsh slap on the face.

Eliana cried a lot in her room that day. But she couldn’t just give up on her love and decided to still try. Especially since Ferdinand tried to cheer her up when he heard her crying.

Even though he didn’t realize it, Ferdinand already liked Eliana so he didn’t like hearing or seeing her cry.

"Would you be alright to see me sad? Would you be alright to see me die unhappy?" Eliana asked with tear-stained eyes and Ferdinand clearly wavered.

"No," Ferdinand awkwardly dried Eliana’s tears with his hands.

Arabella was internally screaming as she watched this scene. She couldn’t help but feel jealous, but it was her in the past. And she had no right to say Ferdinand shouldn’t be in love with anyone else. It was his past and he had a right to be happy too or cherish whoever he loved.

Eliana then proposed to Ferdinand. She said they should try living like a couple. And after some time, if Ferdinand still thinks that he didn’t want or need a mate, then she will give up on him and leave.

"If you do not agree to this, then I will leave right now and return to the heavens," Eliana gave him an ultimatum. She realized that just staying by his side would not make Ferdinand change his mind, so she had to go this far. She needed to give him some kind of push so he would go beyond his comfort zone or decide to remain just the same.

Ferdinand was taken aback as he realized that he had gotten so used to having Eliana around.

Eliana had been living with him for three thousand years at the time, so he was already too used to her presence that he never thought she would leave one day.

He still did not realize that what he felt was love. But he realized that the thought of her leaving felt terrible.
