Chapter 435: I Won’t Be Lonely Since You Are with Me
"One example was during the human civilization more than 6000 years ago. All races fought for dominance and the dragon race won so they ruled. It was peaceful for a while as one race ruled and maintained the status quo. But it still didn’t end well due to the differences between races. Especially between the long-lived races in general and humanity which had shorter lives."
Ferdinand also believed that it was more peaceful when the two races were separated. However, that did not mean that there was no conflict between races in Estrella. He said that the long-lived races do not always get along either, but at least the conflicts were not as complicated as when they were living with humans.
"There’s not much conflict in Estrella now because most races were still recovering from the effects of the Great War."
He said most races still had a small population. But once the population grows, it was inevitable that there would be conflict once again. Thus, the King of Estrella was currently just an overseer. Once each race had enough numbers, they would once again have their own rulers like the olden times.
There were already intermarriages due to the lack of numbers so Ferdinand surmised it would be a bit more peaceful than what he had witnessed in the past.
"Does that mean Alwin, Rendell, and the others would go back to their respective races someday?" Arabella inquired.
"Yes. They would leave, eventually. They are assets to their races so once a ruler was chosen, they would likely be summoned back. Of course, they can always come and visit when they want."
"That’s kind of sad. Won’t you be lonely without them?"
"I won’t be lonely since you will be here with me. And we will have children of our own someday, right?" Ferdinand caressed her cheeks and eyed her so lovingly.
’My heart wasn’t ready for that!’ Arabella felt the heat rise to her face. Her heart was drumming in her chest.
[Why isn’t she answering?]
"Right. Of course, I will be here with you," she managed to reply so he won’t misunderstand her silence.
[Her temperature suddenly rose.]
"Do you have a fever?" Ferdinand got worried.
"No. It just suddenly felt hot," she reasoned. "What time is it?"
"Right, you have to eat. You slept soundly for hours. It’s two hours past lunch."
"Oh my, I slept that long? No wonder I had such a long dream," Arabella finally got out of bed.
Ferdinand’s face turned red, and he looked elsewhere but her as he fetched something.
"Here’s a robe for you," he said and proceeded to wear one himself once she got hers.
’Oh, I’m still naked. In my dream, I was in a white dress, so I thought he dressed me up or something.’
It was rather cute seeing Ferdinand get flushed every time he sees her naked even though they had been doing things since they were in Medeus. He had already seen her naked quite a lot but he was still not used to it.
’My body must have a lot of bruises due to last night,’ she walked to the whole-body mirror near the bed to check her body before wearing the robe.
"Eh? There are no bruises?"
She usually had bruises from his kisses even when he tried to be gentle.
"Oh, and my body doesn’t hurt or feel heavy."
It usually does after an intense activity like last night. Her back would usually hurt the most and her genitals would be sore.
"Ah, I healed you when I saw the marks I left. I don’t really like leaving that many bruises on your skin. It just happens no matter how gentle I try to be," Ferdinand explained.
"Oh my, thank you," she reached out and gave him a peck.
"Please wear the robe first. I might not be able to hold back if you stay naked," her husband pleaded.
"Oh, right. Sorry," Arabella giggled.
"By the way, about last night..." Ferdinand trailed off. His face turned a deeper shade of red and he turned his back so she wouldn’t see his flustered face.
"Hmm? What about last night?" Arabella tilted her head.
"Did you, uhm..." He trailed off again. "Nothing."
[Did she... Ah, I can’t possibly ask.]
’What is it?’
"You know what, Ferdinand, last night..." she trailed off too copying him.
"Last night?" Ferdinand finally turned to look at her. He seemed nervous.
"Last night... oh, nothing," Arabella smirked.
"What? What is it? It couldn’t possibly be nothing. What were you about to say?" Ferdinand was dying to know.
"That’s exactly why you shouldn’t begin to say something and then cut it. I was just letting you know what it was like. Now tell me what you were about to say earlier," she grinned, and Ferdinand was open-mouthed in defeat.
[She’s so sly sometimes. But she’s right. It does feel terrible to be left hanging like that.]
"I was just wondering. Was last night... Was it alright with you?"
She heard from his thoughts that what he really wanted to ask was whether she was satisfied with his performance last night.
"Hmm, who knows," Arabella teased.
[Did I not satisfy her? Or was I too much?] Ferdinand got even more nervous.
"What do you think then based on my reactions?"
[She seemed to be enjoying herself last night. But now that she’s calm and collected, I wonder what she thought about it. Enjoying it last night doesn’t mean she was satisfied. Or I may have overdone it for her taste.]
"I loved last night," Arabella finally said since Ferdinand might end up overthinking again. "I was mighty satisfied. Oh, and I liked doing it several times too. You were incredible."
"I, I see." Ferdinand was both embarrassed and elated at her praises.
"Oh, but once we are back in Riva, we can’t do it that much. My body won’t be able to take it. If we do it too much there, I would end up sleeping all day. I don’t want to be called a lazy Empress, so I must work too."
[Oh, that means we have to do it as much as we can here.] Ferdinand had a mischievous plan.
