One more thing that Arabella understood was that Ferdinand came to Valeria to find his mate and have children. The ultimate goal was to have children to increase the number of dragons.

But what would Ferdinand do after he fulfills his role? From his tale, primordial dragons like himself wanted to die.

He did say that he wanted to live with her for a long time. But is that what he planned?

Does it mean he would bring her and their children to Estrella in the future and they will live here for good? He would not hibernate to death?

"Ferdinand, are you still bored with life? Do you still wish to die? Do you still plan on hibernating to death? Or would you take me here someday, prolong my life, and live here with our children until both of us die a natural death?" Arabella asked. She needed to hear his exact plans.

Ferdinand smiled and caressed her cheek.

"I have found my reason to live. I want to be with you, so I won’t hibernate any more. And I do plan on living with you here someday, with our children once the time comes to leave Valeria. Please allow me to extend your lifespan so we can watch our children grow together," he asked with sincere eyes.

"How will you do that?"

"Once we consummate, I can mark you as my mate and I can begin giving you some of my life force. The more I give you some of my life force, the healthier you become. Your body would begin to build resistance to poison, diseases, and the like. After some time, you would be immune to poison and diseases. You will never get sick again and no one would be able to hurt you with poison. It would affect your overall health and you will age slowly just as the long-lived races do," Ferdinand explained.

’Right. Alwin did say in the dream I had that no poison should have ever worked on Ferdinand. The poison used on him that Marcus gave Renee was something that should have ceased to exist.’

Arabella wondered if Ferdinand marked her in her previous life after their first night.

"I see. It’s quite something. You are really going to share your life with me just like that?"

"Of course! I finally found a good use for my uselessly long lifespan. It had probably decreased due to the destructive hibernation but I still have a long life ahead of me. I’d rather live it with you than endure it all alone again. I have no interest in living for several thousands of years again if it’s not with you," Ferdinand kissed her forehead.

’Geez. This person! How could he say things like this as if it’s nothing?’ Arabella looked away, her cheeks flushed. She was the one getting embarrassed because her husband wasn’t in the least bit.

He doesn’t realize how cheesy and affectionate his words were. These were usually words humans say to each other as a figure of speech. But for Ferdinand, it was literal.

Ferdinand had been enduring a life too long for his liking so he didn’t mind sharing it with her at all. But to a human, this would be quite a difficult decision to make.

But if you love someone, it is indeed a choice she would also make.

However, with the memories of a person who was once a villainess, isn’t this too dangerous?

It was a bit too convenient. If others knew about this, what if they used dragons and other long-lived races to prolong their lives? There are people who want to seem immortal by living as long as the long-lived races do.

What if greedy people heard of this and get into relationships with the long-lived races just to extend their lives? They could pretend to be in love even if they were not.

"Ferdinand, are all of the long-lived races able to share their life force like this?"

"Yes, if they really wanted to. But you need to have enough mana to be able to pull it off. And you should have a long enough life to share or else you would be risking your life."

Ferdinand also explained that they can only share their life force with their mate so they can’t just give it to anyone either.

He also said that the God of Death would not allow all beings who were supposed to die to get their lives extended unnecessarily. Death was necessary for rebirth after all. It was part of the natural cycle of life.

Thus, only those who were destined to have their lives prolonged should have their lives extended.

"Uhm, Ferdinand, how old are you exactly?"
