Chapter 285: Creation of the Oracle System

With the humans once again becoming powerful and their population booming, they have no time to wait for thousands of years to grow the population of dragons or the long-lived races as a whole.

Thus, the God of Dragons and the other gods who created the long-lived races, made a deal once again to help the primordial dragons regain their emotions and fall in love.

It was then that the Oracle system was created.

Through the Oracle system, once a prophecy was issued by the gods, one of the dragons would head to the human realm to find his mate.

Other long-lived races, especially the elves who also lost most of their original population, would go with the said dragon to also find their spouses among the human race.

Human pregnancy and growth were so much shorter. It was exactly what the long-lived races needed to raise their population.

The ten males from the younger generation of dragons could not stomach marrying humans after witnessing their kind almost get annihilated by the said race so they almost married elves. But the God of Dragons stopped them since they were already included in the oracles.

Someone from the primordials was the first to be sent to the human world.

The first dragon sent to the outside world, now referred to as the human realm was Thalia, the most welcoming of change among the primordials.

Thalia was a water dragon. Her first habitat was a small island floating in the vast ocean.

All the primordial dragons breathe fire at first but they were able to change it as they stayed for years in their habitat, they learned magic related to it until they represented it themselves.

Thalia learned magic affiliated with water until she was taught by the Goddess of Water herself.

Thalia became a water dragon. She was the first of her kind to welcome change and adapt to her surroundings more quickly so she was the one who was sent first. The gods had it all planned out.

It was called an oracle but it was simply the will of the gods. And they had no choice but to obey.

Still, only the Goddesses of Destiny had control over their fates.

The outside world had changed so much through the years so a dragon, especially a primordial can no longer go outside in their original body.

If Thalia went in her original form, her mana would cause great changes to the world such as too much rainfall, rising waters, floods, and so on.

Humans who get close to her can also die just from exposure to her excessive mana. Animals and plants may turn into monsters as well if they absorb too much of Thalia’s mana. Thus, her original body had to be left in Estrella.

This was among the reasons why, through an agreement with the creator of humans, the God of Dragons had to provide a human body for them first.

With patience and a lot of difficulty, Thalia was able to find her mate and successfully returned to Estrella with her husband and children.

Thalia grew attached and in love with her husband so she was also the first ever dragon to share her life force with a human and prolong his life.

But Thalia spent 500 years in the human realm just to find her mate.

The other primordials were sent as well but they did not succeed to find their mates. Years passed by without any newborn dragon once again.

Then, one of the younger generations, Henry, was sent to the human realm next.

Henry was the one who established Valeria because he needed the title to be able to marry his mate, a princess in one of the human kingdoms.

Valeria was the last name that all dragons used when going to the human realm. It was one of the names of the God of Dragons that he had allowed them to use.

Using the dragon god’s name as their last name allows him to give them more protection while they were in a weaker and more vulnerable state during their stay in the human realm.

Henry created an empire and it was ruled by him and his children for several generations (in human terms) before the next oracle came.

When he retired, Henry brought his wife to Estrella. Meanwhile, their children alternately ruled Valeria. They pretended as the heir of their elder sibling/s who retired to Estrella after their alternate human bodies reached old age and died.

Henry was the most successful example and encouraged his fellow dragons that it was alright to get married to humans.

The other dragons decided to open their hearts so when the oracle for them came, they went to Valeria. Through the years, the dragon found their mates as well despite a lot of difficulties. Some failed while some succeeded.

The other primordials found their mates as well despite a lot of failures at first.

The Oracle system continued to help the dragons reproduce more quickly so the safety of the long-lived races would not be threatened by humans again.

To date, there were only 96 dragons and most were still young. Ten of them were the primordials, eleven were the survivors of the Great War, and 75 were those who were born through the years.

Six thousand years had already passed since the Great War but only 75 dragons were born. It was already a lot though when compared to the normal birth rate of dragons.

Through marriage with humans, there were one or two dragons born every one hundred or two hundred years.

This was why Clarisse getting pregnant again was a such joyous celebration among the dragons and the long-lived races. It happened in less than a decade.

Add Raymond’s children including the one still to be born and there were three more, making the total number 99.

However, Raymart and Alice did not yet show signs of being able to transform into their dragon form yet. Thus, they were not yet brought to Estrella nor registered as dragons so the count remains 96 in the interim.
