Arabella was already in front of them but she had asked Alwin to cast a barrier around them so they would be invisible and her footsteps would not be heard.

She didn’t give the signal to make the barrier vanish yet since she wanted to hear Ferdinand’s reply.

"Is that so? Are you sure you would be able to take me?" Ferdinand asked.

Arabella wanted to hit him with the heel of her shoes at that moment.

’He’s entertaining her advances!’

Her chest tightened.

It hurt.

She didn’t expect Ferdinand to be like this.

Arabella gripped at the hems of her dress.

It was getting hard to breathe.

"Yes, of course, Your Majesty! I will do my best."

Carmella beamed like an innocent angel despite the fact that she was seducing someone else’s husband.

She hugged Ferdinand’s arms even more and settled a hand on his chest.

If she gives birth, she might get older much more quickly and her beauty will deteriorate.

Arabella wanted to slap her and push her face to the ground to wipe that smile off of her face.

In Valeria, the Empress decides whether a concubine for the Emperor should be welcomed or not," Ferdinand said and Arabella felt a lump in her throat.

’So he’s really willing to take her but I have to approve first?’

Now, she could feel the tears threatening to fall.

Alwin didn’t know what he should do either so he silently watched.

I should take this with composure and elegance.

Arabella bit her lip. Closed her eyes. And took a deep breath.

Carmella gasped in surprise but instead of letting go of Ferdinand’s arm, she hugged it tighter.

Ferdinand didn’t do anything.

He didn’t even try to free his hand now that Arabella was here.

It was even more infuriating but Arabella maintained her composure despite her raging deep inside.

"What is the meaning of this?

Carmella, that’s my husband you are clinging to," Arabella asked Carmella first.

She was too angry and disappointed in Ferdinand to even speak with him.

She doesn’t even want to look at him anymore if possible or else she might say all sorts of things to him right here.

’I have to be calm.

I shouldn’t show my anger.

I cannot disgrace myself here and look pitiful,’ Arabella chanted in her mind.

"His Majesty is taking me as his concubine," Carmella replied with a seemingly angelic smile that rather carried so much venom to Arabella who was this man’s wife.

It was akin to a provocation for Arabella.

But she didn’t give in to her fury.

She wouldn’t let Carmella be satisfied by seeing her crumble.

Arabella glanced at Ferdinand and he was looking at the ground.

’Does he feel guilty doing this that he cannot even meet my gaze?’

If he does, then he shouldn’t have done this in the first place.

Did he like Carmella so much that even though he felt bad for Arabella he still wanted to take Carmella as his concubine?

Arabella didn’t understand what was going on anymore.

"Oh, is that so?

You are not yet content with tasting a lot of my suitors.

Now, you want to get a taste of my husband too.

It must be nice being so open-minded," Arabella smiled back at Carmella.

[She knew about those?!]

Carmella was surprised.

But she was shameless.

"Oh my, I don’t know anything about that, Your Majesty," Carmella smiled proudly instead as she denied it.

Camella was proud of what she had done, though she cannot admit it openly due to royal etiquette and all that.

And she was proud that she may have conquered Ferdinand as well.

He would probably be her greatest achievement.

’Bitch!’

Arabella couldn’t care less about her former suitors that Carmella seduced.

But this was Ferdinand.

Why does Carmella have to desire Arabella’s husband too?

"I see.

It takes several months to process.

I hope you could wait that long."

Arabella maintained her smile despite wanting to slap this young one for being so thick-skinned and annoying.
