Chapter 226: More Often [Bonus Chapter]

Aletha had been informing them how Arabella was doing so they at least knew she was alright.

Arabella was relieved to be able to verify that she had, indeed, only misunderstood them in her past life.

Ferdinand put a hand on his chest and bowed his head ever so slightly for a second as a show of respect t his in-laws.

This gesture made the other royals present, flinch and conclude they indeed, needed to be on Lobelius’ good side now since they had the backing of the Empire.

The pleasantries were done before Arabella and Ferdinand were ushered to where they would be staying.

For safety purposes, Raymond had sent a letter to Medeus months ago that the accommodation for the whole Valerian party to be separate from everyone else. Thus, their accommodation was in a building where their knights could surround the entire perimeter.

The building was decorated beautifully and glamorously to be fit for an Emperor and Empress. Arabella and Ferdinand’s rooms were on the third floor. Their maids and butlers were on the second floor along with the chefs. The knights were on the first floor where it was easiest for them to go out in case of attacks.

Alwin and Riley’s rooms were somewhere they had a good view of the surroundings so they could protect them from any attacks that may come.

The group of their knights surrounded the entire building while the others take some rest. Alwin also put a protective barrier to prevent anyone from sneaking in or attacking.

And once they were in Medeus, the assassination attempts finally stopped. The assassins that were tailing them apparently stopped and did not try to enter Medeus. Magicians were sent to tail them instead to know where they would return to, or, if they would stay nearby and try to ambush them again once they leave Medeus.

Arabella wanted to meet her parents as soon as possible but she was exhausted from riding in a carriage for several days. Her whole body was aching so she decided to retire for the night.

She simply sent a letter to her parents instead, inviting them for lunch tomorrow since the Assembly won’t begin until after three days.

Ferdinand didn’t sleep in her room since he said he would discreetly scout the Medeus with Riley. Raymond had already given them a map but Ferdinand wanted to check if there were any changes.

Knowing the layout of Medeus was important in case they needed to escape or give chase of enemies.

Her husband was indeed a military man so she let him be and enjoyed her sleep. It felt a bit cold without his warmth that usually enveloped her body, but she simply added another layer of blanket instead.

Arabella slept so soundly and when she woke up at dawn, Ferdinand was lying beside her. She caught him gazing at her but he was not in the least bit embarrassed at getting caught.

"Good morning, Dear Wife," Ferdinand greeted with a smile. He was becoming sweeter and sweeter and it was dangerous for her heart.

"Good morning, Dear," Arabella smiled back and he maneuvered to kiss her.

"You are even more beautiful early in the morning. It’s tempting me so much. Did you rest well?" he asked and Arabella gulped at what he meant. He wanted to be intimate so early in the morning. But then again, they were not able to do anything after the first night of their travel.

She’d better satisfy her husband so he wouldn’t be moody later. He looked so good so early in the morning too, after all. Especially with his long, silver hair flowing freely.

"You are so pretty so early in the morning too," Arabella responded and Ferdinand hovered on top of her.

’Don’t tell me, no one has ever called him pretty?’

And she was right. She learned from his thoughts she was the only one who said such words to him.

"Arabella, can we?" Ferdinand asked with eyes full of longing.

"Yes," she wrapped her arms around his neck and kissed him. She gasped when a bit of his weight settled on her and she felt his arousal.

’Right. It’s morning. He usually had these in the mornings.’

"Sorry, did I crush you," Ferdinand sat up and carried her to his lap instead.

"No. I was just surprised."

"You said we can go all the way once we return to the Imperial Palace, right?"

Arabella wondered why her husband was asking this. Did he want to go all the way now?

"Yes. Why?" Arabella tilted her head.

"If it’s once we return after the Assembly, it would be in more than a month from now. Then, we have to prepare your body."

[She’s way too tight to accept me. I was only able to insert a finger before. I should try a second today. I have to loosen her up a bit so I can fit inside her once we do it. I read from those books it would hurt more if her body is not ready.]

Arabella blinked repeatedly at her husband’s thoughts. He was right. Last time, even just his middle finger going inside was still uncomfortable, though it still felt good.

But in her past life, her first night with Ferdinand hurt so much even though he tried to be as gentle as he could. She’d rather not be in that much pain again. It was indeed better to prepare in advance before they go all the way.

’So is he saying we should keep being intimate every night?’

"What do you mean?" she decided to ask.

"I was thinking, we should be intimate more often. Or rather, as often as we could since we only have a month of preparation now," Ferdinand’s ears turned red and he lost a bit of confidence at the end of what he was saying.

Arabella knew he was being sly too since in his thoughts, another reason was he simply wanted to be with her every night.

It wasn’t a problem though since they were husband and night. But she was not sure about it being every night since she knew there were a lot of events prepared and even their nights would be disturbed.
