Chapter 161: Vacation Place in Estrella

Arabella looked around. They were somewhere at the foot of a mountain. Beyond the flower fields and the creek were trees.

She could tell they were in a remote place. All she could hear was the sound of the creek, the chirping birds, and the wind blowing.

It was indeed an appropriate place to rest after a whole day confined at the office buried with work.

There was a mansion nearby with a design that went well with the flower fields.

There were no other buildings aside from the gazebo at the center of the flower garden. Alfredo was there setting up the meal for them.

Ferdinand thought of lunch while enjoying the scenery around them. It was rather sweet.

"I picked some flowers for you earlier," she heard Ferdinand say and Arabella couldn’t help but smile when he handed her a bouquet.

[She likes it, right?] Ferdinand wasn’t used to giving flowers yet so he was nervous if he picked the right ones.

"Thank you! These flowers are pretty." Arabella gave him a kiss on the cheek.

She learned from his thoughts that he took the time choosing which among the flowers there to give her. In the end, he chose to give her a mix of all kinds of flowers there.

"I’m glad you like them," Ferdinand’s ears turned red.

"This place is wonderful. Thank you for bringing me here," Arabella beamed. Her husband had been so thoughtful and it made her happy.

[She looks especially pretty when she’s smiling like this. Her eyes are bright and shining. I want to keep making her smile like this.]

Arabella gave him another peck on the cheek at such a nice thought.

[She just praised me, right?]

Raymond apparently told Ferdinand a kiss on the cheek was usually a praise or a thank you.

’He didn’t even know about that? He really never had a relationship before, didn’t he? But what about his family? Did his mother never kiss him when he was young?’

Arabella couldn’t help but wonder what Ferdinand had been up to all his life. She wanted to get to know him better too.

[My heart is racing wild. Getting a kiss like this makes me feel all warm. What’s this feeling? I want to embrace her and give her a kiss. What should I do to get more kisses like this from her? It feels nice to be thanked or praised like this.]

Ferdinand leaned in to kiss her but all of a sudden, Arabella’s stomach growled.

"I’m sorry! It’s because I only had light refreshments after waking up," Arabella said in embarrassment. She could feel the heat rising to her face.

[She looks even more adorable when she’s embarrassed. Her flushed face looks so charming.]

Arabella felt even more embarrassed by his thoughts.

"Don’t tease me," she glared at Ferdinand and he chuckled lightly.

[I don’t mind this kind of glare from her once in a while.] Ferdinand thought since he knew she wasn’t really angry.

Arabella tried to look serious but she earned a peck on the lips instead because he thought her pouting lips were lovely.

"I’m sorry. You just looked so adorable. Shall we go and eat?" he finally offered his hand to escort her to the gazebo where their meal was waiting.

They enjoyed their meal together in comfortable silence.

’All of these are delicious. The chefs must have put so much effort into making these.’

Alfredo and the other chefs were getting better and better at preparing dishes she loved.

Arabella enjoyed eating here much better than at the dining hall. The view was indeed a great help.

Just eating like this with such a relaxing scenery was enough to make her exhaustion from an all-nighter go away.

Ferdinand was getting better and better at pleasing her.

’What should I do for him? He had been trying to please me this whole time. Should I give him a gift?’

But what would Ferdinand want? He owned everything in the Empire. Is there something she could give him that wouldn’t be boring to him?

[She’s lost in thought. What is she thinking about? Is she dissatisfied with anything?]

"Is the food not to your liking?" Ferdinand asked and Alfredo froze.

"Eh? No. I liked everything," Arabella quickly responded and Alfredo sighed in relief.

"Thank you for the food, Alfredo. I enjoyed all of it," she praised and the chef was elated that she had no other side comments.

She usually gives comments about the food to help them improve. But this time, the food was perfect so there was nothing more to say than thank and praise them.

She enjoyed the view some more as the dishes were cleared.

Once they were rested enough, they walked around the flower garden to get a closer look at the flowers.

For a while, Arabella enjoyed checking out one flower to another. A lot of the flowers here were new to her so she enjoyed scrutinizing them. Flowers were such a relaxing sight too aside from its aesthetic value.

Ferdinand promised to have a garden built for her in Imperial Palace and have some of these flowers brought there.

Arabella gratefully agreed. A single building wouldn’t leave a dent in Ferdinand’s fortune.

Once she was done with the flowers, they walked to the creek.

"Wow, it’s truly clear and shallow," Arabella knelt down and touched the water. "Eh? It’s warm."

She glanced at her husband and he smiled.

"Yes. The water here is not cold since it’s from a hot spring. The water upstream is hotter. It gets colder the farther it is from spring. Would you like to see the source?"

"Yes, of course," she eagerly responded.

It had been a while since she last went to a hot spring. It was when she was fourteen. And to her who was reborn, it was more than two decades ago.

Bath waters in the palace were always warm but a dip in a natural spring was different. It was apparently another reason Ferdinand brought her here. He thought she might want to enjoy the hot spring.

"Alright, close your eyes then."

’We are in Estrella again?’ Arabella gulped.

She knew because it was Ferdinand himself who teleported them which was why he made her close her eyes so she wouldn’t see Alwin, Riley, or any of the other magicians were not around.
