Chapter 90: Chapter 90 Francesca Willis’s Gentleness

Bella Green felt so disgusted that she lost interest in continuing the game, and with a dark expression, she threw her phone away.

Just as she was wondering whether to go out for some fresh air, there was a knock on her room door.

Bella Green was slightly startled. In this house, there were few people who would come to her room; most of the time, it was the servants calling her for meals...

She got up to open the door, and the person outside surprised her once again.

"Mom?" Her voice carried a hint of surprise.

It wasn’t her fault for reacting so strongly; Francesca Willis had never come to her room before, let alone...

smile so gently and lovingly!?

"Bella, mom just made some snacks you love and brought some over to you," Francesca Willis said as she walked into the room.

Bella Green, originally softened by the woman’s concern, felt her heart turn cold at the sight of those snacks.

The exquisitely styled almond pastries were Francesca Willis’s specialty, but they weren’t Bella’s favorites; they were Anna Green’s favorite.

She had been allergic to almonds since childhood, yet her biological mother didn’t know at all.

She watched in silence as the woman casually placed the pastries on her bedside table and then sat down.

"Bella, come here; mom has something to talk to you about."

Bella Green walked over with an indifferent expression and sat on the dressing chair by the bed.

"Bella, you’ve been back for quite some time, and mom hasn’t had a good chat with you." Francesca Willis sighed.

"What does mom want to talk about?" Bella Green’s lips curled, but the smile didn’t reach her eyes.

Francesca Willis’s eyes flicked, then she chuckled: "You didn’t come home yesterday, and mom was quite worried, so I wanted to ask where did you go yesterday?"

Listening to the woman’s words, Bella Green’s face grew colder, and the little warmth in her heart was completely extinguished.

"Didn’t sister tell you? Yesterday, I had an appointment with an elder, and it was too late, so I didn’t come back."

"Oh, I see." Francesca Willis awkwardly smiled, then continued with a gentle and caring tone: "What kind of elder? Why haven’t I heard you mention them before?"

"Just met by chance."

"Then perhaps we can invite them over for a meal sometime?"

Bella Green looked coldly at Francesca Willis. After so much talking, did she finally get to the point?

She had thought Anna would bring up her absence last night to create drama, but she didn’t expect Anna would target Mrs. Jiang.

"No need."

Not expecting Bella Green to refuse so bluntly, Francesca Willis’s face stiffened, but recalling Anna’s words, she kept up her smile and spoke warmly.

"I heard that the old lady took good care of you, and both your father and I should properly thank her, perhaps even book a banquet at the Brocade City Grand Hotel."

The more Francesca Willis talked, the more enthusiastic she became, while Bella Green’s expression turned increasingly cold.

In both this life and the last combined, it was the first time she’d heard Francesca use such a gentle and calm voice with her, yet behind this warmth was full of calculation.

Her own biological mother, full of nothing but disgust and schemes against her, how laughable, how pitiful?

"Was this Anna’s idea?" she suddenly asked.

Francesca Willis was stunned, seemingly not expecting her to guess and reveal it, her face looking a bit unsightly, yet she still smiled and explained.

"How could that be, it’s just me wanting to thank them. You child, how come you’re so suspicious?"

At the end, Francesca couldn’t keep up the act and couldn’t help but lower her face and complain.
