Rebirth to take revenge -
Chapter 165: Smart Watch
Chapter 165: Smart Watch
He regretted ever giving her the address of their house.
Alex sighed and continued eating his breakfast.
At the Exhibition Hall
Alex, Claire, and Leander arrived together.
Luxury cars lined the front of the hall.
Staff guided Claire and Leander inside, while many socialites and wealthy women cast envious and jealous glances at them.
Claire didn’t like being stared at, so she lowered her head.
"I’ve wanted to come here for a long time, but I just never had the time," Alex whispered in her ear, gently stroking her waist.
"Leander has great talent. Maybe he’ll like some of these advanced things."
Claire nodded slightly.
"I think so too."
Hand in hand, they walked further into the hall.
The exhibition had a European-style design, decorated luxuriously.
"The products on display here are electronic innovations from all over the world. The artificial intelligence, robots, and intelligent programs showcased here are all top-tier," Alex explained, introducing them to Leander.
Claire followed Alex as he moved from display to display, feeling amazed.
She never imagined that electronic technology had developed to such an extent. Everything here could sell for an astronomical price on the market.
Claire couldn’t help but admire the founder of this exhibition—whoever they were, they were truly a commercial genius.
"This new smartwatch has already sold for three million on the market," Alex said suddenly, stopping in front of a display. "I think we should get it for Leander."
The watch was stunning, embedded with precious gems, giving it a luxurious look. More importantly, it wasn’t just beautiful—it could connect to computers, televisions, and the internet.
It was simply incredible.
When Leander saw Claire admiring the watch, he immediately spoke up.
"I like it too!"
As soon as he finished speaking, Alex took the watch and placed it in Claire’s palm.
"Do you like it? Give it to Leander. He’s smart. Maybe he can design a smartwatch like this himself one day."
After saying that, Alex even winked at Leander.
Claire:
She really felt like she had walked into a trap. She shouldn’t have gotten involved!
Claire’s gaze shifted between the smartwatch and Leander.
Was this kid really that amazing?
She was a little doubtful. She had seen Leander’s intelligence before, but he was still just a child.
Maybe she was expecting too much.
"Mom?"
Hearing no response, Leander called out to her.
Claire snapped back to reality and smiled at him.
"Yes, Mom likes it very much too."
"If Leander likes it, Mom likes it even more."
She put the watch on his fair wrist.
Leander looked at Claire and smiled brightly.
"Thank you, Mom."
Claire stared at his smiling face, stunned for a moment, then smiled as well.
As mother and son were chatting, Alex suddenly noticed someone standing nearby.
His brows furrowed.
"Josh?"
"Why is it you again?"
Alex’s voice was cold.
Josh was dressed in a sharp suit, hands in his pockets, a playful smirk on his lips.
Claire’s heart skipped a beat, and she subconsciously clenched her fists.
Josh’s gaze swept over the three of them before finally landing on Leander.
His indifferent voice reached Alex’s ears, making him frown in displeasure.
"So what if it is or isn’t mine?"
Alex challenged, lifting his chin.
There was strong bitterness in his tone.
Claire glanced at Alex, then quickly looked away.
Josh scoffed and, with a disdainful look, said,
"This watch is mine."
Alex sneered when he heard this, mocking, "Ha! President Josh, you’re quite humorous. I believe this is the gift I gave to my son."
Josh’s gaze darkened slightly as he coldly snorted, "Alex, this watch has a lot of advanced features and isn’t something an ordinary person can handle. I specifically invited an expert from overseas, and even he could only use 30% of its functions. You bought it for a five-year-old child? Don’t be ridiculous. If you want a toy, go somewhere else."
He finished speaking and ignored Alex, turning instead to Claire.
"Claire, your mother wants you to come home for dinner tonight."
Alex’s eyebrows furrowed in displeasure upon hearing this. He glared at Josh protectively and pulled Claire behind him.
Josh looked at the man, his face darkening as he let out a cold laugh.
"Alex, you’re just her husband. I, on the other hand, am her family. That means I have the right to decide who goes where."
Upon hearing the word "family," Alex was filled with rage. He glared at Josh, gritting his teeth.
"Who do you think you are? You’re just a half-brother who came out of nowhere. Do you really think you can compare to me and the years of love between Claire and me?"
Josh’s face darkened, and his eyes burned with anger.
He took a step forward and grabbed Claire’s wrist, intending to take her away.
"Claire, you better make a choice quickly! Otherwise, you’ll regret it."
Claire was frightened.
This was the first time Josh had forcibly tried to take her away in front of Alex.
And it was so straightforward.
Alex shoved Josh away and snapped, "Josh, who do you think you are? Claire is my wife, and you can’t take her away!"
Josh sneered. "Alex, do you think you’re funny? This is between me and Claire. Why do you have to interfere?"
"Besides, do you really think I want to steal your woman?"
He let out a mocking laugh.
"Claire is your wife, and I’m her brother!"
Alex’s expression darkened as he stared at him furiously.
"Enough. I don’t have time to waste here. I’m busy."
"Remember to return the watch to me."
After saying this, Josh turned around and walked away.
However, at that moment, Leander, who had been silent the whole time, suddenly spoke.
"This watch isn’t difficult to operate. It only has these functions, and I’ve already unlocked them all."
Upon hearing this, Claire and Alex were both stunned.
"What did you say? Unlocked?" Claire looked at Leander in disbelief, her face full of shock.
Alex was even more incredulous.
Leander nodded and continued, "Yes, I can now control all its functions."
His words hit them like a bomb, leaving them momentarily speechless.
They couldn’t believe their son had actually managed to control the watch.
"How is this possible?" Josh turned back and quickly walked up to Leander, snatching the watch from his hand to examine it.
When he saw the data and instructions, his face turned pale.
Leander became anxious and snatched the watch back.
"Uncle Josh, this is my watch."
Leander pouted and glared at him.
Alex saw his son’s reaction and smiled smugly.
"You heard him, Mr. Josh. My son can easily use all the functions of this watch, unlike you, who had to hire an expert from abroad just to unlock 30% of it."
"So, it’s pretty clear who this watch belongs to, right?"
As he spoke, Alex placed the watch back into Leander’s palm and looked at him tenderly.
"My dear, you agree, right?"
Leander nodded vigorously. "Yes."
Alex patted Leander’s head with satisfaction, looking every bit the doting father.
Josh watched this scene unfold and couldn’t help but feel jealous and resentful.
He gritted his teeth and glared at Alex, sneering, "Alex, don’t celebrate too soon. This watch is more powerful than you think, and it’s not something your son can handle."
"I advise you to take it away from him before it causes trouble."
He coldly snorted.
"Mr. Josh, this is my son. What right do you have to interfere?" Alex’s words made Josh sneer.
"What right do you have to meddle in my affairs?"
"I’m just reminding you not to have unrealistic dreams!"
His gaze shifted to Claire.
"Claire, do you really think it’s safe for you to stay with him?"
Claire hesitated, her expression complicated. Then she slowly spoke.
"Alex’s abilities are far greater than yours."
Upon hearing this, Alex’s expression darkened, his handsome face clouded with anger.
He gritted his teeth, looking ready for a fight.
Josh sneered.
"What? Did I hit a nerve?"
Alex clenched his fists tightly, his body trembling with rage.
Josh sighed. "I’ve said what I needed to say. As for the consequences of not returning home, you should be aware of them."
He turned to Claire, his gaze serious.
"The old lady’s condition has worsened again."
"Even if not today, you should find time to visit her as soon as possible."
After saying this, Josh cast one last glance at Alex, scoffed, and turned to leave.
Alex’s fist clenched with an audible crack, his whole body tense with frustration.
Claire watched him with concern.
After a moment of thought, she stepped forward and gently took his hand, speaking softly.
"Alex, how about you come with me to the Smith family’s home tonight? My mother suddenly called me over, and I don’t know what it’s about... Besides, I want to check on the old lady’s condition."
Her voice was soft and gentle, her demeanor docile and obedient.
Alex sighed and rubbed her head.
"Okay. Leander, why don’t you come with us?"
He turned to look at Leander, who was standing nearby.
Leander shook his head and said seriously, "I’m not going. I’m going home to accompany my grandmother."
