Rebirth to take revenge
Chapter 162: New House

Chapter 162: New House

Josh lay on the bed, tossing and turning, and all sleepiness disappeared. This night, for him, it was doomed to be sleepless.

The next morning

Josh was awakened by a knock on the door. After opening his eyes, he realized he was sleeping in the office. He tidied up his clothes, walked out of the inner room, and said,

"Who?"

A sweet female voice sounded outside the door:

"Mr. Josh, breakfast is ready, please have breakfast."

It was the Secretary. At this time, the had already come in.

Josh frowned and said,

"I have no appetite for breakfast today."

"But Mr. Josh, you didn’t have a good rest last night. If this continues, how can your body bear it?"

The little Secretary persuaded him worriedly.

Josh rubbed his eyebrows and said,

"Okay, I see. You go out first. I’ll call you again if I need something."

Seeing that Josh insisted, she couldn’t say anything more, so she nodded in agreement.

After breakfast, the first thing Josh did was to buy a house.

Since parents got married, Josh needed to move out of the Greg residence early and find a suitable property.

While driving, Josh was thinking about where to buy. Suddenly, he saw the billboard on the side of the road.

He stopped the car. On the billboard, a three-story luxury villa was being introduced.

"It seems to me that this house is quite to my liking."

Josh muttered to himself.

He thought for a while, turned on his phone, and dialed the number:

"Hey, I want to see the house. Can you check the location for me?"

More than an hour later, the call came.

"Mr. Josh, this house is newly opened, and the price is very favorable."

"I don’t care about the price. Just find out how long it will take to secure this house."

Josh said.

"This... I’ll find out for you as soon as possible."

The phone hung up. Josh put the phone in his trouser pocket and continued driving toward the nearby commercial street. He wanted to secure the house in the shortest possible time.

At six o’clock in the evening, Josh arrived at the sales office of the house.

He handed the car over to the valet and took the elevator.

When the sales lady saw Josh, she immediately greeted him with a smile.

"Mr. Josh, hello."

Josh nodded slightly:

"How long will it take to secure this house?"

The sales lady said,

"Mr. Josh, we can contact you for the decoration work, but our company is not very large, so I’m afraid it will take a few days."

"No problem, I’ll bear all the expenses, including the decoration fee."

"No, no, no... It’s not a matter of cost. Our company’s decoration designers have all studied abroad. This project is personally handled by internationally renowned architects, and they won’t be back until a week later."

"How long will that take?"

"It will take at least a month."

The sales lady thought for a moment and said.

"A month?"

Josh frowned, a little disappointed:

"It’s been so long, seems we still have to go and see the house."

The sales lady became anxious when she heard this and said quickly,

"Mr. Josh, if you don’t mind, I still have a luxury villa here, and I can arrange the transfer tomorrow."

"The location is not far from this building, and it’s still well-decorated, but the price is a bit expensive."

"Mr. Josh, I can take you there to have a look. You’re not a poor person, so you might like it."

The sales lady said.

For Josh, a big client, the sales lady...

The sales lady took back the card, then led Josh upstairs to the VIP area on the top floor, a privilege only people like Josh could enjoy. Ordinary people couldn’t set foot at all.

An hour later, Josh arrived at the villa.

He got out of the car, looked around, and was very satisfied. This villa was a detached house with a very wide area. Various trees were planted in the surrounding gardens, and the scenery was beautiful.

Josh stood in front of the villa, looking at the layout inside. He couldn’t be happier.

As expected of a house designed by a famous architect, it was truly impressive.

"May I ask which one is Mr. Josh?"

A young man stepped forward.

Hearing this, Josh raised his head and looked at the man in front of him.

He was wearing a black suit and black tie, clearly a successful elite.

"Hello."

Josh said politely.

"Hello, my name is Einstein."

"Are you here to sign the agreement?"

Josh asked.

"Yes, please follow me."

Einstein led Josh to the study.

A laptop was placed on the desk, and a document was displayed on the screen.

He pointed to the computer and said,

"Mr. Josh, please fill in your legal property certificate."

"Okay."

Josh responded, turned on the computer, logged into his account, entered his name, and handed the computer back to him after completing the form.

"Have you filled it out?"

"Yes, it’s all set."

Josh replied.

"Are you sure you haven’t missed anything?"

"No, you can take it."

Einstein looked at the check on the computer and smiled.

"Mr. Josh, then, this villa is officially yours."

"Thanks."

Josh nodded.

Einstein turned and left, while Josh picked up his cell phone and made a call.

"Hey, buy all the supplies you need for living, and send them to the new villa area in the city center, Building 151."

"Okay, I’ll do it right away."

Josh hung up the phone, a smile appearing on his face.

When he walked out of the villa, he happened to see two familiar figures.

"Why are you here?"

At the door of the villa next door, Alex and Claire hugged each other and came out, followed by their son, Leander.

Claire was stunned when she saw Josh.

Alex, on the other hand, was a little embarrassed, coughed unnaturally, then grabbed Claire and said,

"Why are you here?"

He glanced at where Josh was standing, pointed to the door behind Josh with a strange expression, and asked,

"You don’t live here, do you?"

Seeing Alex’s displeasure, Josh felt relieved for no reason.

He shook the key in his hand and said,

"That’s right, I just got the keys."

"It seems that we will be neighbors from now on."

Josh smiled.

"Ah..."

Claire gave a dry laugh, then nodded to Josh:

"Mr. Josh, we still have something to do, so let’s go first."

After she finished speaking, she took Leander’s arm and turned around to leave.

"Wait a moment."

Josh called out to stop them. Alex frowned and said,

"Josh, is there anything else you need?" His tone was full of displeasure.

Claire kept her head down.

Josh glanced at the two of them and then said,

"I have one thing I want to ask you both about my parents."

Claire and Alex paused for a moment, both of them looking puzzled, and then they looked at Josh.

Josh continued,

"Claire, I want to know more about our mother."

"Josh, you don’t have to embarrass me like this."

Claire refused coldly.

Alex pondered for a moment and then said,

"Don’t waste your efforts. When Claire was very young, she received the news of her mother’s death. After that, her grandmother raised her.

I think the Grey family definitely doesn’t want Claire to dwell on those past events."

Alex explained.

"I see."

Josh nodded. He looked at Claire and said,

"Claire, I hope the mystery of my life can be resolved as soon as possible."

"I will do my best to help you."

Claire bit her lip and remained silent.

Josh added, "Okay, I’ll go first." After speaking, Josh turned around and got into the car.

The car started and disappeared at the end of the street.

"Claire, did something happen between you and him?"

Alex asked.

"Nothing, nothing between us." Claire categorically denied it.

"Claire, you don’t have to lie to me." Alex stared at Claire and said. As he spoke, he walked towards her.

"You... what are you going to do?" Claire was forced to retreat, looking at Alex in panic.

"I want you to tell me the truth."

Alex said as he grabbed Claire’s arm and dragged her toward the stairs.

"Let me go."

Claire struggled desperately, but she was no match for Alex, and she was dragged into the room after a few seconds.

Alex leaned against the wall with one hand, pressing it on the top of Claire’s head, his eyes burning. She looked at Alex in horror and exclaimed,

"Alex, what are you going to do?"

"Claire, I’m a man, and men know men best. The way Josh looks at you, it’s clear that he’s interested in you. If there’s nothing between you, how could he act like this?"

Claire felt a little puzzled when she heard Alex’s words.

Could it be that Josh really meant something to her, as Alex said?
