Chapter 67: Cheng Luiying’s Secret
Chapter 67: Chapter 67: Cheng Luiying’s Secret
"I am glad I was not the only one who felt that way; I had a great time," Yuan Renshu told her, beaming broadly.
Yuan Renshu took her into his arms and cuddled her, his eyes glinting slightly. He had made the decision to divorce Jiang Lanfen.
He did not care about the consequences anymore; he could not stay with someone who was unconcerned about what he was experiencing.
"I notice you have a ring on your finger; are you married?" Shi Bei inquired, swallowing briefly.
Yuan Renshu looked at her, observing her carefully. He could not stop himself from comparing her to Jiang Lanfen.
Shi Bei, in his opinion, had traces of Xin Yan in her, which is why he wanted to be close to her.
To put it simply, he wanted to be near her because she reminded him of Xin Yan. To put it simply, he was using her as a substitute.
As much as he did not want to admit it, they both knew the truth.
"Yes, I am married, but I am unhappy in my marriage; I intend to divorce," he explained, and she nodded.
"I will have to return home now," he explained, and she nodded in agreement.
He got ready and went home.
When he returned, Jiang Lanfen was sitting in the living room, patiently waiting for him.
"Where have you been?" She questioned him as soon as he entered.
He looked at her, did not say anything, and walked toward their room.
"Yuan Renshu, can you tell me where you spent the night?" Jiang Lanfen followed him in the hopes of receiving an answer.
Yuan Renshu paused in his tracks before turning to face her, "I thought I asked you the same question yesterday; what was your answer? Oh, it was something like, ’where I go and who I meet with is none of your concern; this is my response to you now.’
Jiang Lanfen remained rooted in her position, staring at him in shock. She could not do anything but watch him enter the room.
She wanted to scream, but she knew it would make her appear like a shrew. She needed to find out where he would gone. However, she had no idea how she would go about it.
’Yuan Renshu, it had better not be what I am thinking because I am definitely capable of hurting you,’ she reasoned to herself before storming out of the house.
*Xin Yi’s mansion*
Cheng Luiying’s eyes lit up as she watched her husband get dressed.
"Why are you staring at me so intently?" Xin Yi inquired while putting on his coat.
She smiled, got out of bed, and approached him holding a tie in her hand.
Xin Yi raised his eyebrows, curious as to what she was up to.
"I am just admiring my husband; I do not see anything wrong with that," she smirked as she stood on her toes to reach his neck.
She assisted him in putting on his tie, and Xin Yi looked at her with love the entire time.
After she was finished, he confessed, "I really love you; I know you may be aware of this, but I do."
Cheng Luiying smiled as she kissed his cheek before leaving the room.
"Hey, this is not permitted," he chased after her as they both settled into the dining room.
They finished breakfast and were ready to leave. Cheng Luiying wanted to go check on her store.
Yes, she had a shop that she secretly opened after she noticed her mother’s attitude toward her changing.
And Xin Yi, he found out by chance while stalking her.
When they finally arrived at the shop, Xin Yi parked the car and turned to face her.
"Take care of yourself, and eat when it is time to eat; do not jeopardize your health," he warned, and she nodded, fully understanding what he meant.
She was about to get out of the car when he pulled her back. She looked at him perplexedly, wondering what else he wanted to warn her about.
"No farewell kiss? That is very wrong," he said, and she let out a ’oh!’ before kissing him on the cheek and leaving the car quickly, not giving Xin Yi enough time to respond.
He shook his head helplessly, and drove away only after he was certain she had entered the shop.
When she walked in, everyone on the staff stopped what they were doing and bowed to her.
"How many times do I have to say this is not necessary? We are all around the same age, and bowing to me makes me uncomfortable," she said, sighing exasperatedly.
"Sorry boss, we are just used to greeting this way; we will try to change our habits," the one who appeared to be the manager told her, and she shook her head.
"One year is insufficient for you to adapt?" They all lowered their heads as she questioned them.
She only shook her head before entering her office.
But, before leaving, she said, "Please bring me the transaction orders; I will be taking one of them, thank you."
Cheng Luiying entered her office and smiled. She had not visited here since she married Xin Yi.
According to him, they were still on their honeymoon. She could only chuckle at his shameless but reasonable logic.
"Here, boss," her train of thought was broken when the manager entered with a tablet.
"These are the pending orders, and coincidentally, they are all to your liking," the manager excitedly handed her the tab.
Cheng Luiying scanned the list until she came across a very familiar name, Cheng Nan.
Her eyes brightened as she handed it back to her.
"I will be taking Miss Cheng’s order," she said with a mischievous glint in her eyes that made the manager frown.
"But that is the smallest order; any of us could do it; why do you want to do this?" The manager was befuddled.
"There are some things that should be left unsaid," Cheng Luiying stated, indicating that she was unwilling to reveal more information. The manager did not say anything else as she left the tablet in her office.
