Xin Yan looked at the person who had come in, and she forced a smile on her face.

She had just hired this man to be her secretary, as Chen Wenling would be busy running errands for her. She would rather not hire him at first, but one of the shareholders spoke highly of him, and because she was in dire need of a secretary she had no choice than to accept him.

But she was wary of him. For some reason, she felt some sort of familiarity with him, but it was funny as she was sure yesterday was the first time she was seeing him.

"Is anything the matter?" She asked in a professional tone, putting away her suspicions about him. She did not want him to be on guard against her.

"Uhm, these are the files which you asked me to arrange, I am done with them," Bai Si pushed up his glasses giving him a nerdy look. He didn’t look smart, instead, he had this nerdy aura around him.

"Put it on the table," Xin Yan instructed, and he hastily did as told, for fear of being dismissed by her.

Bai Si did not leave, instead, he allowed his eyes to roam all over Xin Yan, having a lustful and lewd expression on his face.

Dirty thoughts filled his mind as he could not take his eyes off Xin Yan.

Xin Yan felt his gaze on her, and she was uncomfortable. She sharply raised her head, catching his expression for a split second.

She frowned slightly, as she wondered if she was seeing things.

"And why are you still here? Don’t you have better things to do?" She asked in a cold voice, causing him to shiver.

"I will take my leave now," he rushed his words, leaving the office clumsily.

Xin Yan shook her head at his clumsy attitude.

"Good riddance, I should probably have him investigated, he seems fishy, and I would not want to have a bad egg in my company, once Chen Wenling arrives, I will ask her to investigate him," Xin Yan muttered to herself, before going back to reading her files.

A few minutes later, Xin Yan heard a knock on the door, again, and she groaned out loud, before uttering a "come in."

"President, I hope I am not disturbing you," it was Chen Wenling who made her way inside.

Xin Yan smiled, putting away her irritated look. She felt at ease seeing Chen Wenling.

"It is nothing, I am just bothered about the new assistant, he seems fishy, I would have to trouble you to have him investigated," Xin Yan’s face was filled with guilt.

She understood she had been stressing Chen Wenling for the past few weeks, and though the latter was not complaining, guilt still ate her up.

"That’s fine by me, President, your instincts are always on point, and if you find him fishy, then there is definitely something wrong with him," Chen Wenling smiled at her, not offended by the new task she was given.

"I also feel the same way about him, I get bad vibes from him, and I am glad you also think the same about him, I would have had him investigated even if you did not instruct me to do so," Chen Wenling remarked.

Xin Yan smiled at her wittiness, and her ability to catch on to little details.

"I have news about Yuan Renshu," Chen Wenling announced.

This announcement prompted Xin Yan to sit up straight. Yuan Renshu disappeared for a few weeks, and while she was not meant to be concerned about him, she was worried, he was an enemy after all.

"The day you had the shareholders kick him out of the company, I found out with the help of the street surveillance that he had entered into a car, the car was heavily tinted, but I was able to get the car’s plate number,

And I found out through the plate number that the car belongs to Wu Tang, President Li’s rival," Chen Wenling informed her, adding a bit of drama to her voice.

If it was not a serious matter, Xin Yan would have burst into laughter, but this was not a laughing matter.

Yuan Renshu was seen with Wu Tang, she wondered what the latter was planning.

Her eyes revealed a sharp light as she twirled her pen. If Wu Tang was planning something dangerous, then she would not let him succeed.

She was going to do everything within her power to protect her family, but she was going to inform Li Qiang as he deserves to know about it.

"What are you planning on doing, President? From what I have heard from Gao Yang, Wu Tang is quite dangerous," Chen Wenling was quite worried about the couple’s sake.

Xin Yan smiled at her reaction. This was one thing she loved about Chen Wenling, she was not afraid to show her real reactions. It was rare to find someone as pure as Chen Wenling in the business world.

Her purity was one of the reasons she could not trade Chen Wenling. In simple terms, Chen Wenling was stuck with her.

"I would inform Li Qiang about it, I am sure he would know what to do, but one thing must be established, I would not let Wu Tang mess with my family," Xin Yan’s eyes flashed with a rare hint of killing intent.

Her aura caused Chen Wenling to shiver, as this was the first time she was seeing such mad killing intent in her eyes.

The office remained silent for a while until Chen Wenling spoke up again.

"President, I have been so busy trying to find Yuan Renshu, I forgot to tell you about something," Chen Wenling suddenly spoke up after a thought flashed through her mind.

"And what might that be?" Xin Yan asked, completely interested in what she was about to say.

"I faced some issues, or rather, my brother faced some issues, it turns out Gu Shishi is actually a nice person," Chen Wenling then went on to recount what had happened.

From her brother stealing Gu Shishi’s purse, to her mother asking her to beg Gu Shishi on behalf of her brother, to her cutting ties with her mother and brother, and to Gu Shishi helping her out.

Xin Yan had a stunned look on her face. She had no idea that Gu Shishi actually had such a good side to her, although she always had a haughty look.
