Chapter 146: Invitation

Chapter 146: Chapter 146: Invitation

Li Qiang was in his office, his eyelashes drooped slightly. They had been able to gain information on the loan sharks, and by extension, nabbed them.

Currently, they were at the police station, he was not willing to head there, yet, as he still had important matters to settle.

"President, you called for me," Gao Yang walked into the office with a subservient look on his face, and Li Qiang nodded.

He had indeed sent for Gao Yang.

"Any news yet?" He asked, and Gao Yang shook his head negatively.

Li Qiang clenched his fists tightly, a dark look in his eyes, his aura enveloping the room immediately, causing Gao Yang to be exhausted.

Why was Li Qiang this angry?

It was simple, he had decided to look for his grandfather. He knew it was going to be fruitless, but he decided to give it a try.

At first, there was a lead, but now, it seemed to have disappeared without a trace, causing him to feel frustrated.

"Do not be worried, President, I believe the Old Master is safe wherever he is," Gao Yang could only convince him, even though he did not believe his words.

"Do you think so?" Li Qiang questioned.

He knew that Gao Yang was trying to console him, and he felt pleased a bit. That bit of consolation was probably all he needed.

"I know so, the Old Master will return to us in due time, I actually have something to report to you," Gao Yang placed an envelope on the table.

Li Qiang picked it up with curiosity, "what is this?" He questioned.

"It was sent by him, it is an invitation," Gao Yang informed, and a chill flashed in Li Qiang’s eyes, causing Gao Yang to rub his shoulders immediately.

"He seems ready to make his move, I wonder what he is planning to do," Li Qiang tilted his head as he stared at the bold design of the envelope.

It was a mystery as to who the was.

"President, he is dangerous, I suggest you tread carefully with him, even if it is not for you, but for President Xin and the kids," Gao Yang advised, and Li Qiang nodded.

No one needed to tell him that. If it were before, he could have acted rashly, but now, he had a family, and his ultimate priority was to protect them.

"So, will you be attending?" Gao Yang probed.

"Of course, I have to make an appearance, if I do not, what sort of neighbor do you expect them to paint me as?" Li Qiang chuckled mirthlessly.

"Do you mean?" Gao Yang did not complete his statement, but Li Qiang nodded to it, understanding what his unfinished words were.

"He is really dead set on locking horns with you," Gao Yang commented with a sigh, suddenly feeling bad for the mysterious man.

"It is fine, I won’t take action until he does, but I have a belief he is planning to do something today, I will be needing your help to find out what it is,

I should also thank you for bringing it to my attention, you are more than an assistant to me, you are also a brother," Li Qiang confessed, which caught Gao Yang off guard.

Li Qiang’s sudden statement put him in a fix, and he was at a loss for words, unable to give a reply.

"Are my words shocking?" Li Qiang questioned with a laugh, before dismissing him.

Once he left the office, the smile on Li Qiang’s face vanished, and it was replaced with cruelty.

𝑡𝑟𝑦𝑖𝑛𝑔 his hands rhythmically knocked on the table, his eyes revealed a dark light, only known too few.

He was not called the devil for title’s sake. His actions have proved it time and time again.

He was also surprised that someone could actually plan to hurt him on his turf. Regardless of the duration he must have been plotting, he was Li Qiang, and he was not afraid of anyone, especially when it concerned his family.

Meanwhile, at the Tang’s family home, Tang Mei had successfully sneaked in back into her room. Nobody noticed, and they all thought she was in her room throughout.

When she came down for lunch, her father was sitting at the table, but she could not find her brother.

"Where is my brother?" She asked with a perfunctory smile on her face.

She really did not have any affection for her brother, who never sided with her, rather, he was quick to condemn her.

"It is that time of the month," her father replied as he took a sip out of his mug.

She let out an ’oh!’ It was that time of the month when Tang Mo visited their elder brother.

"How is elder brother now?" Tang Mei asked with concern.

In the entire family, her eldest brother is probably the only one who cared about her.

It then dawned on her that ever since her return, she had not once visited him. She had been busy plotting, and she chastised herself within.

How would her eldest brother feel? He had always loved her, but she did not bother to visit him when she returned.

She could bet that he was disappointed, he might not want to see her, and she felt guilty immediately.

"Your brother is getting better, according to Mo., it will not be long before he reunites with us," he replied, and though he did not sound excited, the way his hands trembled as he held the mug was clear that he could not wait for his son to be reunited with him.

"Brother will be with us shortly, and mom will come back home, then our family will be complete," Tang Mei commented with a smile, and he nodded.

"Master, there is an invitation, it is specially directed towards Young Miss," the butler came with an envelope, and immediately, her father turned to look at her.

Her heart immediately skipped several beats on seeing the look in her father’s eyes.
