Tang Mei nodded. Truly, she had not heard such a name in the entire city. She was well acquainted with all the top families in the city, she had not heard of his name.

"Nice to meet you Mr. Wu," she greeted with a smile.

"Don’t call me Mr. Wu, it sounds too formal, call me Wu Tang, after all, we will be partners," Wu Tang smiled.

After they had their coffee, they began to discuss.

"Why did you ask to meet me? And also, how did you know about my hatred towards Xin Yan, and how did you know about my love towards Li Qiang? Sorry if my questions are abrupt," Tang Mei queried.

Wu Tang gave a serene smile. If anyone saw him, they would have the impression that he was a nice person, but if only they knew that he was a wolf in sheep’s clothing.

"We both have the same goal, which is why I thought you were the perfect person to team up with," he stated.

"What sort of goal? I only have one goal, and that is to end up with Li Qiang," Tang Mei was not embarrassed as she uttered those words.

"I want Xin Yan, so you can see our goals align with one another," Wu Tang finally stated his goal.

Tang Mei was in shock as she stared at him with wide eyes, and opened mouth.

"How do you know Xin Yan? Li Qiang would not allow you to touch Xin Yan?" Tang Mei blurted out almost immediately.

She felt that his goal was unachievable, and she was seriously considering if she should team up with him. His goal was just as unrealistic as hers, but she had a way to pull it off.

"Relax Miss Tang, I have not given my idea yet, but you are quick to condemn my aim, I want Xin Yan, and regardless of how I am to get it done, I would do so," Wu Tang’s eyes flashed with a dangerous light, while still having a smile on his face.

Tang Mei felt the chill from his gaze, and this just strengthened her will. She would not be teaming up with him, she still wanted her life.

If she ended up dead, how would she be with Li Qiang?

"Mr. Tang, sorry Wu Tang, I would have to decline your offer of partnership, we are different from each other, our goals do not align," Tang Mei tried to explain to him, hoping he would answer to her.

Seeing that he did not respond, she took it that he agreed; therefore, she was ready to leave the café with the guard.

Wu Tang chuckled, he seemed to be expecting this.

After all, he knew that she had always tried to kill Xin Yan. He wanted Xin Yan, but she wanted Xin Yan dead just to get Li Qiang. It was only right for her to say their goals did not align.

But would he allow her to leave without getting what he wanted? He needed a pawn, and a future scapegoat, she was the perfect person for such a job.

"Miss Tang, you are free to leave, but I know you will not be happy to hear your scandal in the news tomorrow, how will your dad and brother feel about it?" He did not sound threatening, but his words depicted a different meaning.

Tang Mei stopped in her tracks, as she snapped her head towards him, who had a nonchalant look as he played with the ring on his left middle finger.

She squinted at him, at high alert, as she asked, "what do you mean?"

"I mean," he paused, sitting up straight as he stared into her eyes.

"You sleep with your guard just to get information about your enemy, Xin Yan, your countless failed attempts at trying to kill her,

Your dad should be happy once it comes to light, even Li Qiang might want to be with you after hearing it," he was being sarcastic, and they knew it.

Tang Mei’s face turned pale immediately as she stared at him. She had many questions in her mind, how did he find out about it?

She turned her head to the guard immediately, who shook his head . He had never told anyone about his affair with her.

If he did, it was going to be the end for him.

There was only one explanation for this. Wu Tang had been paying attention to her for a very long time.

"How much do you know?" She questioned with a cold voice as she narrowed her eyes at him, with her brows drawn together.

She didn’t understand why she felt that he knew more about her. It was a crazy thought, but there was no harm in asking.

"I know a lot, it just depends on what situation I find myself in, I might not know anything, but it could be different in another situation, I could know more than the person," he explained with a chuckle.

"I asked what you know, it is best not to keep beating around the bush," Tang Mei was becoming annoyed with each second that ticked by.

"Do you want me to say it? I have no qualms about saying it, but I am concerned about your reputation here," he acted concerned as his eyes darted towards the guard who was glaring at him.

"Chen, please wait for me outside," she swallowed.

She needed to know what he knew about her. It would help her know what she was to do in the coming days.

"Young Miss," Chen, the guard, wanted to protest, but Tang Mei glared at him.

"I am sorry, I will be outside," he said, and exited the café, not before glaring at Wu Tang, who was not bothered about it.

He felt that he was nothing more than a small fry who did not need his attention.

"What do you know about me?" Tang Mei questioned as she took a seat.

Thankfully for her, the café was empty, with only them in it. As for the waiters, it just happened to be their lunch break, and they had gone to have lunch.

Thus, Tang Mei was safe, to say the least.

"You are ever so curious about yourself," he chuckled.

"Stop beating around the bush, and tell me," she banged her hands on the table in annoyance.

"Relax, you do not want your kid’s life to be in danger, right?" The smile wiped off his face as he spoke to her, and her eyes widened almost immediately, while her face turned pale.

Tang Mei’s lips trembled as she looked at the nonchalant man, and her heart trembled.

"What are you planning to do? You have to leave my son out of it, my son did not hurt you, you cannot hurt him just because I would rather not team up with you, leave my son out of it!"

Tang Mei’s emotions were all over the place. She might not care about anything else, but she loved her son.

Regardless of his origin, she loved him with her heart.

She remembered how she ended up pregnant, she was not planning to get pregnant, but she was caught in a situation she never expected she would fall into.

Tang Mei, after her classes had been completed decided to take an evening walk. If she had known, she would have gone home immediately, for she did not expect to be caught in an awful situation.

She had been cornered by five men.

"What do you want?" Tang Mei asked as she glanced at the men warily. She did not know what they wanted, but they looked dangerous to her.

The one who seemed to be the leader licked his lips as he stared at her with a lecherous gaze.

Seeing his gaze, Tang Mei felt as though she had been stripped naked with their eyes.

"Stay away from me," she whispered. She had an ominous feeling, just by seeing their gazes.

Seeing them approach her increased the fear in her heart. Her initial reaction was to run, and that was what she did.

But her legs were too short, it did not take long before they caught her, with laughs.

"Boss, she feels so smooth," one of the lackeys licked his lips as he held on to her, and she squirmed under their touch.

She struggled to break free, but it was not achievable. It was presently the strength between a male and a female is displayed.

"Let me go, I beg of you, do you need money, I will give you money, I have a lot of money, my family is rich, they will be willing to give you anything, just let me go," she pleaded as she was dragged to an uncompleted building.

"Boss, did you hear what she just said? She is a rich family’s daughter, we haven’t done one before, this would be interesting," another lackey commented, excited for what would happen later on.
