Chapter 711 - Chapter 711 Chapter 711 Prince Pu

Chapter 711: Chapter 711 Prince Pu Chapter 711: Chapter 711 Prince Pu Princess Consort Pu was shocked and pale as she hurriedly asked, “Qinger, don’t cry. Tell your grandmother quickly, what happened? What’s wrong with your mother?”

“That little bastard in the mansion poisoned her, and she’s almost dead now. She’s lying in bed, unconscious!”

The whole Capital knew that Situ Yongjie had found his long-lost eldest daughter.

As Lady Tang’s birth mother, Princess Consort Pu had known about it earlier than anyone else.

“Is that true? She’s a country girl who’s just come to the Capital. Not to mention being unfamiliar with people and places here, but the dazzling world of the Capital alone is enough to blind her. In such a short time, how could she have the Kung Fu to poison your mother?” Princess Consort Pu indeed was extraordinary, and immediately pinpointed the issue.

“That little cheap person is cunning and can’t be reasoned with like an ordinary person. If Grandmother doesn’t believe me, she can send someone to investigate the General’s Mansion and see if my mother is lying in bed, unconscious.” Situtu Qinger had come to Prince Pu’s Mansion for help, hoping to use her grandfather’s influence to remove Xuexue, who was a thorn in her side.

“What are you saying? You’re my granddaughter, who would I believe if not you!” Hearing that Lady Tang was unconscious, Princess Consort Pu was extremely heartbroken, “Isn’t your father there in the mansion? Is he not dealing with this matter?”

“Stop it, ever since Xuexue, that little bastard, returned to the mansion, he’s become like a different person. He only has eyes for her, completely ignoring us siblings. A few days ago, he even demoted mother to a Concubine.”

“What? Concubine? Such a big issue, why didn’t you send someone to inform me?” Princess Consort Pu was both anxious and angry that her daughter had suffered such grievances in the General’s Mansion.

“Mother forbade it, saying that our grandparents are old and she didn’t want to disturb you two elderly folks.” As Situtu Qinger spoke, she appeared pitifully distressed. In reality, Lady Tang had never said such things; Qinger had fabricated them to gain Princess Consort Pu’s sympathy and get her help in disciplining Situtu Xuexue.

Princess Consort Pu was trembling with fury and ordered an Old Maid beside her, “Hurry and invite the Prince to the main hall, tell him our precious daughter is near death and to come quickly.”

“Princess Consort, you mustn’t get too agitated, your health isn’t good. I’ll go at once,” the Old Maid cautioned before quickly departing.

In less time than it takes to drink a cup of tea, the Old Maid had fetched the Prince from his study.

Prince Pu was over sixty, not tall, with a lean build, and a goatee on his chin.

As soon as he entered the main hall, he loudly asked, “My Beloved Consort, what’s happened to our daughter? How can you say she’s near death? What in the world happened?”

“It’s all your fault for allowing our daughter to marry Situ Yongjie, putting her in a situation where she’s nearly lost her life,” lamented the older Princess Consort, tears streaming down her face.

“Stop crying and tell me what happened,” urged Prince Pu, anxiously pacing around Princess Consort Pu.

“Ask Qinger,” Princess Consort Pu said with a sniffle, gesturing towards Qinger beside her.

Prince Pu turned his head and noticed Situtu Qinger was there.

“Qinger pays respects to Grandfather,” said Situtu Qinger with a respectful bow.

“No need for such formalities, tell your Grandfather quickly what exactly happened. How are you and your mother?”

Situtu Qinger then gave an exaggerated account of the recent events in the General’s Mansion, crying as she described the dire situation pitifully.

Having heard the story, Prince Pu flew into a rage, calling together the people and horses of his household, determined to confront the General’s Mansion.
