Rebirth: Pampered by the Lord
Chapter 339 - Chapter 339 Chapter 339 Wild Boar

Chapter 339: Chapter 339 Wild Boar Chapter 339: Chapter 339 Wild Boar The new house will be finished with the roof tiles in a few days, and there’s not much else to do around the home.

That day, Xuexue and Big Bull went up the mountain again, intending to hunt some game to sell at Xiaohe Restaurant for some Silver. After all, hosting a banquet after the house is built would be another considerable expense.

Xuexue, carrying a basket on her back, walked along the winding mountain path, with Big Bull following closely behind, occasionally cocking his ear to listen out for wolves that might suddenly attack them.

Ahead was a dense forest, dominated by centuries-old trees, and the undergrowth was almost waist-high, a clear sign that the area was seldom visited. Otherwise, the undergrowth would not be so dense, and there would be traces where people had walked.

Xuexue looked around and suggested, “Big Bull, let’s go this way.”

With no footpaths, there would be more game.

“My lady, how do we proceed without a path?” Big Bull glanced in that direction, noticing that the ground was covered with thorny vines that could easily pierce the skin. He was primarily worried about Xuexue getting hurt.

“It’s alright, we just need to cut through with sickles,” Xuexue leaned in to look and saw that the stretch covered with thorny vines wasn’t very long–just about a few dozen meters or so. They could endure it.

“Alright! My lady, hand me the sickle, and I’ll do the cutting.”

“Mhm.”

Xuexue took a sickle from the basket and passed it to Big Bull. She had brought two sickles specially, anticipating that each of them would use one.

The two of them chopped as they went, and it seemed they were about to get through the difficult stretch of undergrowth.

Suddenly, there was a rustling in the bushes ahead, accompanied by grunting sounds, like some animal was making them.

“Big Bull, there’s a noise over there, did you hear it?” Xuexue stopped walking, grabbed Big Bull’s arm, and whispered.

“I heard it. We don’t know what kind of animal it is; we need to be careful,” Big Bull whispered back, grabbing Xuexue’s hand and tiptoeing to the side, avoiding cutting the vines now lest they disturb whatever unknown creature was ahead.

“Ouch!”

Xuexue accidentally caught her foot on a vine, and several small thorns pierced her flesh. She couldn’t help but exclaim softly.

“What happened?”

Big Bull, who had been focusing ahead, turned and asked.

“It’s nothing.” With potential danger up ahead, Xuexue endured the pain and casually replied, though her face betrayed her effort to stay composed.

“My lady, are you really okay? Please don’t deceive me!”

“I’m truly fine, Big Bull. We should hurry and see what kind of animal is ahead,” Xuexue said quietly.

Big Bull agreed and once again concentrated on what lay ahead.

“Grunt, grunt, grunt.”

The noise grew closer, and with no more underbrush to block the view, Big Bull leaned forward for a look and turned back to Xuexue with a smile, saying, “My lady, we’ve struck it rich this time.”

“What’s happened?” Xuexue, shielded tightly behind him, was clueless about what was up ahead, and a bit confused.

“Pigs, there are many big pigs ahead, seven or eight at least.” Big Bull was beaming with joy, thinking to himself that if he could take all these pigs back, Xuexue wouldn’t have to buy pork from the town anymore, which was excellent.

“Pigs?”

“Yes, many. Don’t believe me? Take a look.” Saying this, Big Bull stepped aside to let Xuexue see for herself.

Xuexue peered out and instantly felt a chill run down her spine, realizing, Oh, dear! Big Bull’s mind really hadn’t recovered his memory. Seeing so many fierce wild boars, yet looking so joyful, only a fool would do that.

“Big Bull, are you stupid?”

“What’s wrong?”

“These are wild boars, not domestic pigs.”
