“Yes! That’s right!” XueXue nodded in agreement, then said with lingering fear, “It’s so strange. Why would there be wolves on the outskirts of the mountain? Luckily they ran into us; if it had been other villagers, they surely wouldn’t have survived.”

Indeed, the other villagers were just ordinary farmers, weak and defenseless, unlike Big Bull, who not only possessed herculean strength but also high-level martial arts. Having just been attacked by the wolf, she felt somewhat apprehensive, worried they might encounter another wolf and have to fight again.

As if seeing through XueXue’s unease, Big Bull patted his chest and with a goofy look comforted her, “Don’t be afraid, wife. Big Bull will protect you.”

“Uh!” XueXue responded absentmindedly. In truth, she also felt somewhat reluctant to head down the mountain so soon, “Big Bull, you don’t want to go down just yet, do you?”

“I don’t want to. We’ve only just arrived. Wife, let’s play a little longer before going back,” Big Bull pleaded pitifully.

“Alright then.” XueXue had already been torn about leaving, and after hearing Big Bull’s plea, she readily agreed.

Taken aback, XueXue looked bewildered as Big Bull asked abruptly. She hadn’t really considered actually marrying Big Bull; all the talk had been just to deal with the nosy villagers like Old Granny Liu.
