Chapter 1104: Chapter 1104: The Dwarf Disappears Unexpectedly

Passing through several prison cells, they arrived in front of an empty one. The guard pointed inside with his hand and said, "Prime Minister, look, this is the cell where the dwarf and Zhang San were held together. Now, both of them have vanished without a trace. This is truly bizarre."

The Prime Minister lowered his head and took a look. Sure enough, the lock on the door remained perfectly intact, but the people inside had disappeared.

"Open the door quickly. I want to go in and take a look."

"Yes, sir!"

The guard lowered his head tremblingly and unhooked the keys from his waist. Helplessly, his heart was filled with panic, and no matter what, he couldn’t insert the key into the keyhole.

His hand trembled as he tried several times in a row, but still failed to open it.

The Prime Minister lost patience. "What a bunch of incompetents!"

He snatched the key from the guard’s hand and then kicked him aside with one swift move.

"Ugh...!"

The guard groaned in pain, clutching his stomach as he fell to the side. His face was contorted in agony, but he didn’t dare make a sound.

In front of their Master, servants like them had no right to cry out in pain. Otherwise, what awaited them would be an even crueler fate.

"Clang clang clang!"

After a series of noises, the prison door was opened, and the Prime Minister rushed in ahead.

The room was in total disarray, as if it had just been thoroughly searched. The objects on the ground were scattered everywhere, especially a pile of excrement in the corner, which had worsened the condition of the entire room.

The Prime Minister, seeing this, covered his mouth and nose with his hand and took a disdainful step backward. "You, several of you, go in and search thoroughly. I refuse to believe the little runt has taken to the skies!"

At this moment, the Prime Minister was extremely enraged. The dwarf was the murderer of his son, someone he wished to skin alive and eat. Now, the man had escaped right under his nose.

Understandably, he was deeply unwilling.

This dungeon was his masterpiece, a place from which even masters of the martial world couldn’t escape. And now, two prisoners had vanished at the same time—could there be a traitor in his mansion?

The Prime Minister turned to look at several of his trusted aides, his mind heavy with suspicion.

The guards searched the entire room, looking completely disheveled from the effort, but no clues were found.

"Prime Minister, we found nothing of value," one servant reported.

The Prime Minister flew into a rage. "In such a hidden place as the dungeon, it’s impossible for them to escape. Tell me, is there anyone among you who betrayed me?"

Upon hearing this, the servants were terrified to death. They fell to their knees before the Prime Minister with a loud thud and exclaimed in unison, "Prime Minister, please see clearly! We are absolutely loyal!"

"Yes, Prime Minister, this is a wrongful accusation! The dwarf and Zhang San disappearing has nothing to do with us! Please investigate thoroughly!"

The old and cunning Prime Minister didn’t believe a word of their protest. He glared at them with impatience. "It better not be you. If I find out who did this, don’t blame me for being ruthless."

"Please investigate thoroughly, Prime Minister. We are absolutely loyal."

"You must hurry and investigate this matter. If you fail to figure it out, you’ll lose your heads."

The Prime Minister, his face turning green with rage, was furious. He had gone through great effort to catch the killer of his son, intending to perform a blood offering in two days to comfort his son’s soul in heaven. Now, it had all been for nothing—how could he not be livid?

"Yes, sir!" The servants answered as one.

"Hmph!"

The Prime Minister stormed off in anger.

Everyone was left kneeling on the ground, disheveled and looking at one another, their emotions extremely conflicted.

The dwarf and Zhang San had disappeared into thin air—how on earth could they investigate?

"Why are you still dawdling? The Prime Minister has already gone. Get up quickly," one guard said, climbing up while addressing the others.

Only then did everyone rise dejectedly.
