Rebirth of the Villainous Female Boss
Chapter 1481 - 1453: Yes, Creating Trouble

Chapter 1481: Chapter 1453: Yes, Creating Trouble

Kiara’s group task to buy oranges proved very effective. She assigned tasks daily to those seemingly brainwashed individuals, and every night their family members gathered to report on the game’s progress. Ten days had passed, and their condition had been improving day by day. According to Kiara’s plan, in 21 days, a sense of familial love would be rooted in their hearts.

As long as there is light to illuminate the future, it’s just a matter of time, and after the doctors’ treatments over 21 days are complete, the remaining time would be when familial love plays a critical role.

That day, after reviewing the case summary, Kiara, in a pleasant mood, asked Mario Yuno out for a candlelight dinner. The child was also left with Dad, and she and Camden hadn’t had much opportunity to communicate over the past ten or so days, not to mention the intimacies between husband and wife.

Now that the case had stabilized, Kiara was looking forward to spending a long-awaited evening just for the two of them.

She had booked the candlelight dinner and dressed up carefully. She even reserved a room in the hotel upstairs from the restaurant. Tonight, with Dad taking care of the child, the couple could indulge in some romance outside.

When buried in work, she didn’t feel it much, but when the pressure eased, she felt she owed her family. Her job and his meant they had little time together. Kiara thought about the years they had spent together, feeling both the bitter and the sweet.

Considering they had known each other for so long and even had a child, the actual amount of time they had for real dates could be counted on two hands.

Perhaps only when they both retired could they spend their days and grow old together like an ordinary couple.

As Kiara listened to the live violin performance in the restaurant, she let go of that bit of sorrow.

Life wasn’t just about the matters of men and women. She had her pursuits and he had his beliefs. It didn’t matter if they couldn’t be together all the time, just occasionally having a bit of time together was enough.

She glanced at the time and saw it was already past the time they had agreed upon, yet he hadn’t arrived.

Kiara waited a bit longer but still no sign of Mario Yuno.

Mario Yuno was also aware that they had spent too little time together recently. That evening, he had made a special effort to leave work early. Since he had promised not to work late, he would definitely arrive on time.

When the waiter came over to ask if she wanted to start with an appetizer, Kiara could distinctly feel the pity in his eyes.

Dressed to the nines and sitting there waiting for so long, to outsiders, she looked like the one who had been callously stood up.

Unable to wait any longer, she called Camden. The call connected quickly.

"Where are you?"

"Kiara, something came up on my side, I might be a bit late," said Mario Yuno’s noisy background, unclear who was there.

Kiara originally thought he might have a sudden task, which she could understand, but her sharp ears caught a different voice in the background.

It was a child’s voice, which sounded like it was right next to Mario Yuno. What made it different was that this child was speaking a language Kiara didn’t understand, similar to the accent from Olivia Smith’s side.

"Chad, hang in there, Uncle will take you to the Hospital right away—Kiara, I’ll be a little late, wait for me."

Pressed for time, Mario Yuno didn’t have the chance to explain and wanted to quickly take Chad to the Hospital.

He was nearly at the restaurant he had agreed to meet Kiara when suddenly, out of nowhere, a tricycle blocked his car, and someone quickly threw a child from the tricycle. When Mario Yuno got out of the car, he found the injured child was Chad!

This child shouldn’t have appeared here; how could he possibly have crossed two nations to get here?

Although Mario Yuno vaguely felt that something wasn’t right, seeing the child battered and barely breathing, all he could think of was to quickly take the child to the Hospital.

The reason he didn’t call an ambulance was that there was a Hospital just a three-minute drive from where he was, and driving the child there himself would be faster than waiting for an ambulance.

When Kiara called, Mario Yuno had already registered at the Hospital’s Emergency Room. He had just sent Chad into the Emergency Room and was thinking of calling his daughter-in-law. So he stepped outside the Hospital onto the steps, dialing Kiara’s number while looking towards the direction of the restaurant.

The distance between the two was quite short, only a few minutes by car. Standing on the Hospital steps and looking towards the Hotel, he could see the neon lights twinkling over there.

Mario dialed Kiara’s number with practiced ease, filled with a sense of guilt towards his wife.

He was always so busy, and on the rare occasions they had time together, something like this would happen. She was so understanding of his work, but he still owed her the companionship a husband should give his wife.

He wished he could be with her day and night, but duty called...

With a heavy heart filled with guilt towards his wife, Mario finally got through to Kiara.

"Hello, Kiara, are you angry?"

"I’m used to it." Her voice came through faintly from the other end.

Her lack of anger made Mario feel even more guilty.

"I’m sorry, Kiara, I—"

"What are you guys doing?!"

Before he could finish his sentence, he heard Kiara’s stern voice demanding over the phone, and Mario’s heart suddenly clenched in agony as he cried out wrenchingly, "Kiara!"

Something had gone wrong!

She must have been in trouble!

But that was all she could say. No matter how much Mario asked, there was no response. The phone was still connected, but her voice was gone.

Mario guessed the phone must have been left on-site, but he had no idea where she might be.

He ran towards the Hotel direction like a madman, holding the phone, still in the call, praying to hear her voice again and hoping that her last words had been a joke meant for him.

But no matter how much he called or waited, her voice was gone from the other end of the phone. Mario ran desperately, not even bothering to get his car.

Running from here to the parking lot, then driving to the Hotel would take too long. It would be faster to run at full speed.

But by the time Mario had reached the entrance of the Hotel, another loud bang echoed through!

This explosion came through the receiver and from the nearby Hotel simultaneously, the dual sounds even making the ground shake momentarily.

It was the evening rush hour, and the streets were busy with pedestrians who, until a second ago, had not noticed anything was amiss. Several seconds after the noise, as the onlookers saw the thick smoke and screams, along with people yelling "It’s exploded, it’s exploded" coming from the restaurant, they realized the Hotel had been hit by an explosion.

This unexpected event caused a shock, and once people snapped to reality, they started to run frantically. Some screamed, others cried out, and continuous streams of people emerged from the Hotel, some covered in blood and all in a state of panic.

The once-flourishing Hotel had turned into a hellish battlefield that everyone was desperate to escape. All the people inside were screaming and running out except for one tall man, his face a picture of heartbreak, who resolutely and recklessly charged inside.

That was Mario Yuno. He had to go in; he had to find his wife. Kiara had promised to wait for him. She would wait, she must...!!!
