Chapter 297: Chapter 297: Boss Jin (Third Update)
Mo Xiaoyu was tidying up and could not help but let out a deep sigh.
Tang Yue quietly whispered into Tiantian’s ear, "Tiantian, go give mommy a kiss and tell her ’I love you.’"
Xie Tiantian, holding a big teddy bear, looked at Tang Yue and then at Mom, quickly put down the teddy bear, stretched out her little hands, flung herself into Mo Xiaoyu’s arms, pecked her cheek, and said, "Mommy, I love you."
"Tiantian, Mommy loves you too." Mo Xiaoyu held Xie Tiantian tightly, her slight sense of loss instantly filled by Xie Tiantian, and she held her daughter tightly, giving Tang Yue a grateful glance.
Without Mo Siyu and Tang Yue’s presence during this ordeal, she wouldn’t have known what to do, and even after the divorce, she might still live here, lacking the courage to move away.
The sights brought sentimental feelings.
Mo Xiaoyu thought to herself that she needed to work hard to earn money for her daughter and redecorate the new house in the way she desired—her life would get better and better.
"Sister Xiaoyu, shall we look for a rental near Jinxiu Garden tomorrow?" Tang Yue asked.
"Yeah," Mo Xiaoyu replied, organizing clothes and nodding, "Let’s live nearby first. For the house, I plan to just fit it out simply, not doing anything complicated for now. We can do it when we have money later."
"That sounds good. Sister Xiaoyu, once Tiantian goes to school, what do you plan to do?" Tang Yue’s gaze rested on Mo Xiaoyu’s face.
Mo Xiaoyu thought for a moment and said, "I might go find some work. I can’t just sit around; I want Tiantian to have a better life, even without a father. I want her to be happy every day." Right now, Mo Xiaoyu had no other thoughts but to raise her daughter well and wait for her life to stabilize before discussing the divorce with her parents.
"Doing a job means working for someone else, but running your own business is different," Tang Yue spoke gently, "My uncle has opened a clothing factory, and there’s no store yet in Sea City. Sister Xiaoyu, would you like to give it a try?"
"The clothes you’re wearing?" Mo Xiaoyu’s eyes suddenly brightened. Previously, because of Xie Quan’s matter, she only thought that Tang Yue’s clothes looked nice and such clothes were rarely seen in Sea City, but she didn’t have the mind to ask.
Now, regarding future work, Mo Xiaoyu naturally wanted to clear things up.
"Yes." Tang Yue spoke seriously to Mo Xiaoyu.
She not only described the styles of clothes from the clothing factory but also talked about a rough idea of the cost price, selling price, and profits, as well as the benefits of running a store. Initially, Mo Xiaoyu could entirely pick up the child herself and take care of her at the store, though it might be tiring, but it was better since she would be working for herself.
"Not sure," Mo Xiaoyu asked hesitantly, "Xiao Yue, didn’t we today see people renting out storefronts on the street next to Jinxiu Garden?"
"Yes," Tang Yue responded affirmatively. She didn’t mention it today because things weren’t yet finalized, and also it wasn’t something that could be explained in a few words.
Mo Xiaoyu immediately said, "Then that’s it. I’ll go inquire about the rent tomorrow."
Having decided to sell clothes, Mo Xiaoyu naturally discussed these matters with Tang Yue.
Tiantian had already climbed into bed to sleep, while Mo Xiaoyu and Tang Yue were still talking until late. Mo Siyu hadn’t come back yet; Mo Xiaoyu muttered, "Si Yu really, he doesn’t know many people in Sea City, why hasn’t he come back yet?"
"Sister Xiaoyu, don’t worry, he won’t get lost. I’m sleepy, let’s go to sleep," Tang Yue said, pulling Mo Xiaoyu to rest in her room.
It wasn’t until late at night that Tang Yue, still groggy, heard Mo Siyu return.
The next day, Tang Yue got up early, and Mo Siyu had already gone out for a run and come back. She asked in surprise, "You came back so late last night, why didn’t you sleep in a little?"
"I’m used to it," Mo Siyu answered.
Tang Yue couldn’t hold back and asked, "What did you do yesterday then?"
Mo Siyu gave her a meaningful look and said, "I went to watch a play yesterday."
"Ah..." Tang Yue looked astonished and asked, "What play? About them?"
Tang Yue couldn’t understand; logically, without Mo Xiaoyu, shouldn’t they be sweet and affectionate?
"Forget about that for now, I’ll take you to a play this afternoon," Mo Siyu cleared his throat as Mo Xiaoyu came out with Tiantian.
"Siyu, what were you doing last night that you came back so late?" Mo Xiaoyu casually asked.
"I didn’t do much," Mo Siyu said unblinkingly, "This afternoon I’ll take Xiaoyu out for a walk, in the morning I’ll accompany you to rent the house."
"It’s fine, I can handle it myself," Mo Xiaoyu replied, "Tiantian will stay at the kindergarten for the day, I’ll go check out the houses myself, and also, Xiaoyu talked to me about opening a store yesterday, I plan to get that sorted out as well."
Regardless of the consequences, Mo Siyu helped Mo Xiaoyu rent the house and the store.
The house Mo Xiaoyu rented was just upstairs next to the store, only a street away from Jinxiu Garden, though a bit pricier, but the area, which was mainly inhabited by businesspeople, was relatively safe.
Mo Siyu got everything settled before he left the house with Tang Yue.
Tang Yue was extremely curious, following Mo Siyu the whole way, bombarding him with questions which he intriguingly evaded.
Upon reaching the location, Tang Yue was stunned.
Outside Xie Quan’s shoe factory, people were demanding debts.
Rumors had spread that Xie Quan’s shoe factory was about to close down, hence, those associated with the business arrived to claim their money.
Xie Quan insisted that the factory was operating just fine, questioning how it could possibly close down.
But with the large crowd of debt collectors, everyone was worried about not getting their money, and the workers feared they wouldn’t receive their wages, leading to a lot of clamor and dispute.
As Xie Quan had just divorced Mo Xiaoyu, some of the available cash had all gone to her, leaving the factory’s books empty.
Originally, Xie Quan planned to sell the stock from the inventory for cash, which would have helped tide things over slowly, but the rumor had panicked everyone, and no matter how Xie Quan explained, no one would believe him unless they saw actual money.
Left with no choice, Xie Quan had to seek help from Wan Wei.
Wan Wei hesitated; the money she had saved up over the years wasn’t easily parted with, worrying what if Xie Quan didn’t pay back?
After a lot of cajoling and assurances from Xie Quan that there was absolutely nothing wrong with the shoe factory, Wan Wei finally agreed to withdraw the money.
On the way to get the money, she encountered Boss Jin, a past acquaintance, who was wearing a Gold Necklace as thick as a finger and a big gold ring. Seeing Wan Wei, he was ecstatic and exclaimed, "Weiwei, I finally found you."
