Chapter 293: Chapter 293: Adorable Girl Tiantian (Second Update)
"But..." Mo Xiaoyu hesitated: "Will he give so much money?"
Tang Yue replied: "That’s what he should give. By the way, do you know how much money you make at the factory?"
Mo Xiaoyu shook her head.
In these three years, apart from now when she took her child to try kindergarten, she had always been at home taking care of the child, doing laundry, cooking, and was completely unaware of the factory’s profitability.
Tang Yue thought for a while, and then said: "Sister Xiaoyu, this money is what he must give."
Tang Yue comforted Mo Xiaoyu, and asked, "Have you thought about what to do after the divorce, Sister Xiaoyu?"
"I don’t know." Mo Xiaoyu looked at Tang Yue blankly, she had never considered divorce.
Tang Yue didn’t know why, but she always felt that something was not quite right with Mo Xiaoyu’s current state. She neither sobbed uncontrollably nor harbored resentment against Xie Quan. She was very calm, so calm after initially choking up while talking about their past that it was almost frightening.
"Sister Xiaoyu, do you want to go back home or continue to Sea City?"
Mo Xiaoyu shook her head and replied: "I don’t know."
Tang Yue decided not to talk about this anymore, and said: "Oh right, when shall we go pick up Tiantian? I bought Tiantian a big bear, and I don’t know if she will like it. I haven’t met Tiantian yet."
"Tiantian likes dolls." Mo Xiaoyu had a smile on her face whenever she talked about Tiantian.
Tang Yue asked more about Tiantian, and Mo Xiaoyu kept sharing amusing stories of Tiantian, gradually dissipating her previous unhappiness with a smile on her face.
At noon, Mo Sisi took them both out for a meal, and Mo Siyu’s expression was poor throughout.
If it weren’t mentioned, Tang Yue would think that Mo Siyu was Mo Xiaoyu’s older brother, not her younger one.
In the afternoon, Tang Yue took Mo Xiaoyu shopping and even made her try clothes of different styles. Her previous clothes, she didn’t know how many years she had worn them, were very old. Once she changed into the new clothes and tied her hair into a ponytail, she looked a lot younger.
Mo Xiaoyu had a naturally beautiful face to begin with; Tang Yue took her to buy some basic skincare makeup. After applying it, Mo Xiaoyu’s previously dry face looked more moisturized. With more care, Tang Yue believed Mo Xiaoyu would no longer be the yellow-faced woman who didn’t know how to take care of herself.
"Is Tiantian in this school?" Tang Yue, familiar as she was, linked arms with Mo Xiaoyu and talked non-stop as they went to pick up Tiantian from kindergarten.
When it was time for school to finish, Tang Yue was surprised to see Xie Tiantian. Xie Tiantian’s features resembled Mo Xiaoyu’s by ninety percent. Her large round eyes and naturally pink and tender child’s face looked especially cute and attractive.
She embodied an irresistibly adorable charm.
"Mommy." Xie Tiantian’s personality was not as gentle as Mo Xiaoyu’s, and she was particularly talkative. As soon as she stepped out of the school gate, she flung herself into Mo Xiaoyu’s arms, her big eyes twinkling as she looked at her, and asked in a soft and sticky voice: "Mommy, who is this?"
"Your future aunt." Seeing her daughter, Mo Xiaoyu felt a significant decrease in the discomfort at the bottom of her heart.
"Auntie, you’re so pretty." Although Xie Tiantian was only three, her pronunciation was clear. She stretched out her chubby little hand and said: "Hug."
"Tiantian is even prettier." Tang Yue looked at Xie Tiantian, and although she found Xie Quan annoying, she couldn’t deny that Tiantian was adorable.
Once Xie Tiantian was in Tang Yue’s arms, she buried her whole self in Tang Yue’s neck, clutching tightly to Tang Yue and kept saying: "Auntie smells nice."
"Tiantian also smells nice." Tang Yue leaned in to smell Xie Tiantian and said so.
Xie Tiantian immediately laughed with joy.
After walking for a while, Xie Tiantian, excitedly dancing around, was forcibly picked up by Mo Siyu who said, "Let uncle give you a hug."
"No." Xie Tiantian clung to Tang Yue tightly, refusing to let Mo Siyu hold her.
"Be good." Mo Siyu pried her little hands apart and carried her in his arms. Xie Tiantian, unhappy and pouting, looked like she was about to cry. Mo Siyu then said, "Uncle will buy you a popsicle."
The little girl’s face broke into a smile immediately. The expression that had almost turned to tears vanished in a blink of an eye.
Tang Yue was astonished.
Mo Xiaoyu explained, "Tiantian seldom cries usually. Popsicles are her favorite food, but since they are cold, I don’t really let her have them very often."
"That makes sense," Tang Yue said with a smile. "Sister Xiaoyu, Tiantian is such an adorable daughter. If it were me, I’d want to have a daughter too."
"Yes, Tiantian is very affectionate with me," Mo Xiaoyu spoke emotionally.
After getting her popsicle, Tiantian’s attitude did a complete one-eighty. Addressing Mo Siyu as ’uncle’ time and again, once she finished her popsicle, she sat on Mo Siyu’s shoulders, riding high, the little girl was gleeful.
When they got back home, Xie Tiantian was thrilled to see the large teddy bear Tang Yue had bought. She loved it, since it was almost as tall as she was. She played with it on the bed, giggling nonstop on her own.
Mo Siyu stayed with the little girl, playing. Xie Tiantian liked ’riding high,’ so Mo Siyu carried her on his back all around the room, sometimes playing with the big teddy bear. The room was filled with Xie Tiantian’s laughter, which never seemed to stop.
Mo Xiaoyu was initially happy, but as she laughed, tears came rolling down.
Tang Yue was silent, vaguely guessing why.
Mo Xiaoyu lowered her head and murmured, "Tiantian has never been close to Xie Quan from a young age. I always thought it was because she’s always with me, but now it seems..."
It wasn’t that they weren’t close; it was that Xie Quan simply didn’t like Tiantian.
Children are the most innocent; if you like me, I’ll like you.
Now thinking about it, Tiantian rarely mentioned her dad. Whenever something happened, it was always about mom. Even if Xie Quan was away on a business trip for a month, Tiantian never asked when dad would be back.
"Sister Xiaoyu, there’s really no difference for Tiantian whether she has a dad or not. Although it sounds cruel to say this, it’s still better than having a dad who’s practically not there. It might be better to tell Tiantian from a young age that you and her dad are separated. That way, when Tiantian grows up, she’ll understand." Tang Yue consoled her.
Xie Quan, that kind of person, truly didn’t deserve to be Tiantian’s dad.
"Yeah." Mo Xiaoyu nodded, "I know that Tiantian has never been close to him. She’s always been with me, so she lacks that expectation and won’t be disappointed."
That night, Tang Yue, Mo Xiaoyu, and Tiantian slept together, while Mo Siyu slept in the guest room.
Early in the morning, Tang Yue woke up in a strange place with a child next to her. She couldn’t sleep and woke up early.
Just as she came out, she saw Mo Siyu dressed neatly, looking refreshed, not at all like he had just woken up.
"Why are you up so early?" Mo Siyu looked at Tang Yue.
Tang Yue whispered, "Sister Xiaoyu went to bed late last night, and I couldn’t sleep. Why are you up so early?"
Mo Siyu fell silent for a moment and then said, "Xiao Yue, thank you."
