Chapter 249: Chapter 249: Let’s Work Together (Second Update)

The woman looked slightly embarrassed as she gazed at the clothes Tang Yue was wearing, which seemed more and more appealing to her. She asked, "Miss, where did you buy these clothes?"

"I made them myself." Tang Yue smiled gently, feeling a premonition that she might really be able to collaborate with the woman before her.

Although the woman’s taste wasn’t great, she was straightforward and clearly capable of running such a large store in Jiangjin—a testament to her strength.

"Wow!" The woman’s excitement heightened as she circled around Tang Yue, introducing herself, "My name is Qin Anyu, I’m the owner of this store. Can you make more beautiful clothes like these?"

Qin Anyu looked at Tang Yue with hopeful eyes, her eager expression more befitting of a little girl craving candy than that of a store owner.

"My name is Tang Yue," she replied, asking, "I can make beautiful clothes, but... would you like them?"

Qin Anyu’s eyes sparkled as she nodded vigorously, "Yes, I really like the clothes you’re wearing."

"Then..." Tang Yue’s gaze fell upon Qin Anyu’s attire which seemed somewhat off in terms of taste.

"Are my clothes very glamorous?" Qin Anyu twirled in front of Tang Yue and said, "Before today, I used to love the clothes I’m wearing. But today, after seeing your clothes, I feel like my tastes have changed."

Qin Anyu spoke with utter seriousness. She had previously made Tang Yue try more than a dozen outfits from her store. Clothes that seemed pretty at first felt tacky once Tang Yue put them on. Now, she finally understood why her grandfather and brother had previously mentioned her lack of taste.

For this reason, Qin Anyu was very eager to collaborate with Tang Yue.

She wanted to build a business to impress her grandfather and brother.

"Pfft~"

Tang Yue chuckled upon hearing this. Changing one’s taste from today on is truly unparalleled.

She didn’t rush into discussing a partnership but first inquired, "How long have you rented this shop for? And how long has it been open?"

"I’ve rented the shop for one year. To be honest with you, it’s only been open for two months and has been profitable every month," Qin Anyu began proudly, then hesitated, adding, "Mostly thanks to friends supporting it."

At first, Qin Anyu truly thought she had a knack for business, but her opinion quickly changed. Her friends bought her clothing, but she never saw them wearing it. Eventually, even the not-so-sharp Qin Anyu began to sense something was amiss.

"Tang Yue, if you can really make lots of beautiful clothes, let’s collaborate. You design the clothes, I’ll sell them, and we can split the profits fifty-fifty. How does that sound?" Qin Anyu said hopefully, finding Tang Yue’s outfit more refreshing and attractive the more she looked at it. If the store could offer such beautiful clothes, she was sure her friends and customers would love them.

Qin Anyu seemed to be clutching at her last lifeline. It would be embarrassing to keep the store running if it relied solely on friends’ support, especially when they didn’t wear the clothes they bought.

"Why don’t you take a look at this first?" Tang Yue took out three design drafts from her backpack. These were the ones she had worked on all night yesterday, all resembling gowns that could be worn on normal occasions. Each of the three dress designs had a unique style.

Qin Anyu was instantly drawn to a powder blue long dress. Based on the design, she could tell the clothing would be light and airy. The long hemline stretched down to the ankles, and the pattern of petals on the clothes was refreshing and gorgeous. Even without seeing the actual dress, she was mesmerized and couldn’t take her eyes off it.

"This dress is really beautiful." After looking at that one, she moved on to the next design—a striped shirt dress cinched at the waist with a belt. She never knew that a shirt extended into a dress could look so pretty.

There was also a white tulle skirt, which, even without being worn, gave off a fairy-like vibe.

"Beautiful."

Qin Anyu excitedly took Tang Yue’s hand, her eagerness to collaborate intensifying. She asked, "Yueyue, let’s partner up, shall we?"

Qin Anyu had become much closer in how she addressed others. She said, "I’m twenty-three this year. Seeing that you are quite young, you can just call me Sister An Yu. Don’t be fooled by the lack of business in my store; I do have a lot of customers, and there’s always a stream of people coming and going."

"Now, what my store really lacks is beautiful clothing." Qin Anyu spoke of this one set after another.

Tang Yue couldn’t help but ask, "Sister An Yu, if you know that your clothes aren’t good, why don’t you change them?"

"It’s because I haven’t found suitable ones," Qin Anyu said innocently, blinking as she added, "Also, the place where I go to stock up, this is as good as it gets."

"Where do you source your merchandise from?" Tang Yue inquired further.

After thinking for a bit, Qin Anyu named a place.

Tang Yue stayed silent. No wonder—the place was already phased out in the future, where clothes were ridiculously expensive and not even nice to look at.

"Xiao Yue, I’m serious, let’s be partners," Qin Anyu invited enthusiastically.

Tang Yue said, "I’m not from Jing City."

Qin Anyu was startled for a moment, then quickly added, "That’s alright, now there are trains and airplanes."

"Where do you live?" Qin Anyu asked, belatedly curious.

"Jiang Province, Wangjiang County," Tang Yue answered, thinking that Jiang City probably didn’t have an airport yet.

"That’s quite far," Qin Anyu exclaimed in surprise. She didn’t know where Wangjiang County was, but she had a general idea of Jiang Province, and she knew it must be far.

"So, how do we collaborate then?" Qin Anyu was puzzled too. She said, "How about I come to Jiang Province?"

"Actually, if you’re really willing to do it, during the summer break, I can start by making a batch of clothes with you. After that, I can send you my design drafts once a month," Tang Yue explained.

She also wanted to target the high-end market, so naturally, Tang Yue didn’t want to miss such a great opportunity.

"Summer break, you’re still a student?" Qin Anyu stared at Tang Yue and asked, "Are you a university student now?"

"I’m going to be a senior in high school soon," Tang Yue said with a sweet smile. "I just turned eighteen this year."

Qin Anyu: ...

"Yueyue, how will you manage to create design drafts during your senior year?" After asking, Qin Anyu quickly added, "Yueyue, why don’t we start making clothes now? A summer break is quite long, after all."

Qin Anyu looked at Tang Yue eagerly, and said, "There’s a workshop on the floor above this store."

Tang Yue was taken aback, not having known there was a workshop upstairs.

Qin Anyu took Tang Yue upstairs and confessed somewhat embarrassedly, "Actually, some of these clothes are sourced, while some I made myself."

"It’s just that I really have no talent for it, so it’s been left unused." When Qin Anyu talked about this, she felt particularly embarrassed.
