Chapter 139: Chapter 139: Will There Be Regrets? (Second Update)
"Xiao Yue, did you do something nice for Sister Deng again?" Deng Lanhua’s eyes lit up involitarily; ever since she started working with Tang Yue, her family’s circumstances had noticeably improved.
Even the US$ 50 borrowed by Qin Song had been repaid, and every month, he could make a few extra ten yuan, the work wasn’t hard, and he could even bring his son Leilei along. Ever since his leg injury, he hadn’t felt as steady as he did today.
"You’ll know when the time comes, Sister Deng," Tang Yue replied ambiguously, not wanting to speak too soon about things that weren’t confirmed yet.
"Right, Sister Deng, you made quite a lot of clothes from the last batch of designs, right? This time I’ve brought three more; make a few of each size, and for the small and medium sizes, make a few extra," Tang Yue handed over the new designs.
"Alrighty," Deng Lanhua accepted the designs and felt once again that her eyes weren’t good enough.
She always thought this batch of designs was the best, but then felt the next batch was even more attractive after seeing it.
Every time she saw the finished clothes, Deng Lanhua ended up marveling and feeling it was just as it should be.
After all, each new design from Xiao Yue always broadened her horizons.
"Xiao Yue, these clothes, if you make more, they are sure to sell well," said Deng Lanhua with feeling.
"That’s the plan, I’ll definitely make more in the future," responded Tang Yue, after discussing with Deng Lanhua what type of clothes she planned to make, she then headed back home.
They had an early dinner, and Tang Yue and Tang Mingli began to clear the stock and check the accounts, taking with them Tang Jun. They had come back late yesterday and had no time; today, Tang Mingli just skimmed through how many clothes were sold and for what price.
By evening, they needed to have cleared out the stock to see which clothes were in surplus and which were short. Although school hadn’t started yet and summer clothes could still be sold for a while, they needed to be precise about how much stock to bring in. Overstocking would mean tying up their working capital once the weather turned cold.
Busy until ten o’clock at night, Tang Zhengde, worried, specifically came to take Tang Yue home, seeing Tang Jun already dozing off on a chair nearby.
Tang Zhengde, seeing them working hard, had also brought some fried noodles as a late-night snack.
"Dad, I’m just getting hungry," said Tang Yue, eyes on the fragrant fried noodles, her stomach rumbling.
Tang Mingli gave Tang Zhengde a thumbs up, grabbed his chopsticks, and started eating right away. Tang Mingli’s shop wasn’t too far from Tang Zhengde’s, and the noodles were still warm, just right without burning the mouth.
Stuffing his mouth full of fried noodles, he praised, "Second brother, your cooking skills are improving by leaps and bounds."
"Uncle, the dishes dad makes are really delicious," added Tang Yue, relishing every meal prepared by Tang Zhengde.
Over the past six months, she could distinctly feel that she had grown taller.
"If you like it, that’s good. Xiao Jun, do you want some noodles?" Tang Zhengde gently shook Tang Jun.
Tang Jun, too sleepy to open his eyes, just turned over and continued sleeping.
That night, when going back, Tang Zhengde carried Tang Jun and accompanied Tang Yue, first dropping off Tang Mingli at his place before going home with his children. The streets were quiet at past ten, very few people around.
The shop’s lights were always on; entering from the alley’s entrance, the bright shop was like a lighthouse guiding them forward.
Zhang Hualian had prepared hot water at home; they could take a bath as soon as they arrived back. After a busy evening, Tang Yue fell asleep as soon as her head hit the pillow.
The next morning, at the front of Tang Mingli’s house, Mo Xiaolin arrived on time carrying vegetables, smilingly she said, "Xiao Yue, Si Yu mentioned that he really enjoyed your cooking, so today I brought some extra ingredients so you and your uncle can eat together."
"Aunt Mo, this is too much," Tang Yue looked at the dishes. Even four people could be well fed, let alone three.
"No, it’s not too much. You’ve worked hard, so here’s some extra money for you. Consider it a treat from me." Mo Xiaolin took out dishes one by one, none of which were excessively excessive.
"Aunt Mo, you’re too polite. How about you join us for lunch too?" Tang Yue invited.
Mo Xiaolin declined and left after delivering the dishes.
Tang Mingli looked at the dishes and clicked his tongue, Mo Siyu’s mom is really beyond reproach.
Tang Yue pursed her lips and said, "Uncle, cooking for people is just a bit of work, these dishes are too much. Next time, I’ll make some clothes for Aunt Mo in return."
"Why, trying to please your future mother-in-law?" Tang Mingli teased.
Tang Yue glanced at him, with no intention of continuing the conversation.
At noon, in the hospital, Mo Siyu asked the nurse for the time for the third time.
"Mr. Mo, is there something wrong?" the nurse asked cautiously. Many young nurses secretly glanced at him, but no one dared get too close because of Mo Siyu’s cold demeanor.
However, whenever it was time to give Mo Siyu medication or an injection, those nurses scrambled to do it.
"No," Mo Siyu answered briefly.
The nurse felt somewhat disappointed and wanted to say something more, but Mo Siyu had already lowered his head to read the newspaper, so they had to quietly leave.
Tang Mingli pushed the door and entered.
Mo Siyu had heard the footsteps, slightly heavy, but he didn’t look up.
"Mingli watching you read the newspaper in the hospital every day, aren’t you bored?" Tang Mingli said, looking at the newspaper in his hands.
"Why is it you?" Mo Siyu’s disdain was evident in his glance.
"Xiao Yue didn’t want to come." Tang Mingli chuckled and said, "There are thousands of women who want to marry you, but my Xiao Yue is not one of them."
Pride filled Tang Mingli’s eyes, Xiao Yue had truly made him proud!
You know, during their school days, Mo Siyu’s charm was simply blinding. Even though he was usually aloof and often got into fights, it didn’t diminish the girls’ admiration for him.
Mo Siyu gave him a glance.
Tang Mingli became even more smug and remarked, "Siyu, it’s such a waste with that charming face of yours."
"I heard Qi Yufei is not doing very well these days. Do you think she’ll regret it if she finds out business is booming for you now?" Mo Siyu said somberly, his dark eyes fixing Tang Mingli with a look as a faint smile crept over his lips.
Taken aback, Tang Mingli quickly disassociated himself, "Whether she regrets it or not, it has nothing to do with me."
