Chapter 125: Chapter 125 We Are All Good (Three Updates)

Blood splattered out, splashing onto Wei Jiajia’s face, the warm, sticky blood carrying a stench. Wei Jiajia, not knowing where she summoned the courage from, picked up the things she had just bought and fiercely struck the man.

Wei Jiajia was like a madwoman, hitting with her hands and kicking with her feet.

Tang Mingli, enduring the pain, kicked the man hard. The items in Tang Mingli’s hands fell to the ground, as he pulled Wei Jiajia aside, fearing she might get hurt by the man.

The woman whose necklace was stolen also stepped forward and fiercely hit the man.

"Uncle," Tang Yue hurriedly supported Tang Mingli, behind her; things had happened so fast, in the blink of an eye, that by the time she reacted, Tang Mingli had already taken a knife for her.

Strength in numbers, the man was subdued, and the blood on Tang Mingli’s back became even redder.

"Uncle," Tang Yue quickly stepped forward to support Tang Mingli.

"Mingli."

Wei Jiajia’s eyes reddened, tears falling one by one, only knowing to grasp Tang Mingli’s hand, not knowing what to do.

"Uncle, we need to go to the hospital now," Tang Yue quickly composed herself, pleadingly looking at the crowd around her, thinking about getting to the nearest hospital.

Kind-hearted people pointed them in the right direction, with others helping to carry Tang Mingli to the hospital.

They were not far from First Hospital at their current location.

Wei Jiajia supported Tang Mingli, heading to the hospital along with Tang Yue, who was also hastily following. Tang Mingli lay on the back of a kind stranger, a knife still lodged in his back, which was a shocking and terrifying sight. His back was soaked with blood that dripped down.

Tang Yue wiped her eyes, incessantly telling herself in her heart, Uncle won’t be in any trouble; he definitely won’t.

Kind-hearted people also brought their purchases to the hospital.

Upon entering the emergency room, Tang Yue paced back and forth outside.

Wei Jiajia sat in the corridor on a chair, also terrified. The dire situation had passed, but thinking about it now scared her even further.

She lifted her hand, still stained with Tang Mingli’s blood; the warm feeling was gone, leaving only a sticky sensation.

"Xiao Yue, don’t worry. Your uncle will be okay," Wei Jiajia consoled her, not sure if she was comforting Tang Yue or herself.

Tang Yue stopped and said, "Sister Jiajia, Uncle will surely be fine."

Determination filled Tang Yue’s bright eyes.

After a long time, it was hard to say how long, the light from the emergency room turned off, and the doctor came out. Tang Yue rushed forward, anxiously looking at the doctor; her lips moved, but she didn’t dare to ask.

"Doctor, how is he?" Wei Jiajia suddenly stood up, her hands tightly clasped together, slightly trembling.

"He’s fine," the doctor said, noticing only the two young girls were there, he explained, "Luckily, no vital parts were damaged. He just needs some time to recover from the injury."

"Good," Wei Jiajia let out a sigh of relief.

Tang Yue’s tense mind relaxed at once, and her body staggered slightly.

Wei Jiajia, quick to react, supported Tang Yue, "Xiao Yue, it’s okay now, your uncle is safe."

"Yeah, Sister Jiajia, I’m okay," Tang Yue finally showed a smile, only then remembering the things they had bought.

"Sister Jiajia, do you remember who helped us carry these things?" Tang Yue checked and found that every single item was still here.

Jiajia shook her head and said, "My stuff is also all here. The situation was too chaotic at the time, and I don’t remember who helped us carry them."

"There are still more good people in the world," Tang Yue remarked with emotion. When Mingli was wheeled into the ward, he was still not awake from the anesthesia. Tang Yue then said, "Sister Jiajia, I’ll go see where we can get something to eat nearby. I’ll buy something to bring back. When my uncle wakes up, he will definitely be hungry."

"No, let me go instead," Jiajia intervened, "You’re not familiar with Shenzhen, and besides, you’re only seventeen. If your uncle knew you went out to buy food alone, he would be worried again. I’ll go."

"Xiao Yue, don’t argue with me. I’m happy to do something for your uncle," said Jiajia resolutely, not giving her a chance to refuse, and stepped out of the ward briskly.

Tang Yue called out to her retreating figure, "Sister Jiajia, be careful too."

"Don’t worry," Jiajia waved her hand.

Tang Yue returned to the ward and tidied up the items. Mingli was still asleep. She poured a cup of hot tea after boiling some water, then sat in front of the hospital bed. The scene that had just unfolded seemed to still flash across her mind.

If her uncle hadn’t taken that stab for her, it could be her lying on the bed right now.

Uncle, thank you.

Tang Yue looked at the unconscious Tang Mingli, and her gratitude was deeply felt without needing to be voiced. She took a deep breath; at first, she just felt her uncle shouldn’t have met an untimely death, but as time passed, and they shared moments together, she gradually accepted him and treated him as a dear uncle.

Yet, the events of today were still shocking. The knife wielded by that man was so fast, if... it had hit a vital spot, whether her uncle could have been saved was another matter.

How did her uncle find such bravery at that moment to save her?

As Tang Yue was deep in thought, Mingli’s voice sounded, "Xiao Yue, are you alright?"

Mingli’s voice was weak, but his eyes surveyed her intently, as if fearful that something had happened to her.

"I’m fine, uncle. It’s you, uncle, do you feel discomfort anywhere?" Tang Yue leaned forward and asked earnestly.

Mingli shook his head, "I don’t feel discomfort anywhere. Where’s Jiajia?"

He looked around but didn’t see Jiajia, and his heart immediately tensed. He attempted to sit up to check.

Tang Yue quickly pushed him back down, "Uncle, don’t get up. Just lie down and don’t move. The doctor said that although the injury didn’t hit any vital organs, you still need to rest well. Please, don’t get up."

"Sister Jiajia is also fine," Tang Yue added quickly, holding down Mingli’s shoulders, fearing that he might struggle to sit up.

Before Mingli could speak, Tang Yue took the initiative to explain, "Sister Jiajia went to buy something to eat."

"She isn’t in danger going by herself, right?" Mingli said anxiously.

After what just happened, Mingli was very nervous, fearing that an accident might occur on her way to buy food.

"Uncle, there should be places to eat near the hospital entrance," Tang Yue said uncertainly.

Soon, Jiajia returned.

Mingli, whose heart had been hanging in suspense, finally relaxed. He said, "Jiajia, are you alright?"

"I’m just fine. I bought you pig trotter soup; it’s good for healing your wounds. The rest of the dishes are lighter," Jiajia replied with a smile returning to her face, seemingly finding peace in her heart upon seeing him safe.
