Rebirth: He Decides to Lie Flat -
Chapter 530 - 530 525 Fire Breakout
Chapter 530: Chapter 525 Fire Breakout Chapter 530: Chapter 525 Fire Breakout Watching a dozen security guards and workers running toward them from a distance, the van suddenly started.
“Go, go!” the driver yelled as he quickly pulled out of the parking spot and shouted out the window.
The six didn’t linger for a fight, turning on their heels and sprinting towards the direction of the van.
“Damn it, son of a bitch, think you can come and go as you please like it’s your own home?”
Liu Wenhui’s stick crashed down hard on the leg of the last person running, causing the man to stagger and fall to the ground with a thud.
Liu Wenhui ran up and stepped on the man’s back, pressing down hard to flatten the arched back against the ground.
“Save me…”
Hearing the cry for help, the two who hadn’t reached the van thought about turning back to assist, but as they turned around, they saw three security guards already sprinting towards them, and their driver was still urging them on repeatedly.
Grinding their teeth, the two guys boarded the vehicle.
With a swish, the van door closed and the van roared away.
Jiang Yan shouted to the security guards, “Notify the main gate to block the car.”
A security guard who hadn’t yet reached them quickly halted and turned to run towards the main gate.
Another security guard was on the phone while running.
Jiang Yan let out a sigh of relief, his stick dropping to the ground as he clutched his right arm with his left hand, his forehead beaded with cold sweat.
The first blow had been heavy, and he had just been forcing himself to fight back against Liu Wenhui. Now that the situation had eased somewhat, the pain in his arm spread rapidly through his body.
“How are you doing?”
Jing Junyang had been kicked to the ground, hitting his head accidentally and scraping off a big patch of skin. Now disheveled, he got up and, noticing something was wrong with Jiang Yan, hurried over to ask.
“I’m fine, go to the gate, check if the car’s stopped.”
However, no sooner had he spoken than a scream erupted, “Fire… fire!”
Jiang Yan and Jing Junyang froze, quickly turning to look as a plume of black smoke rose from the southwest corner of the factory, the storeroom where the finished products were kept.
“Quick, quick, put out the fire…”
Jiang Yan and Jing Junyang exchanged glances, understanding that they had fallen for somebody’s trick: it seemed like the assault was aimed at them, but the real objective was to destroy their goods.
All they could see was the fire and had no idea about the condition inside the storeroom.
Suddenly something flashed through Jiang Yan’s mind, and he turned and called out to Liu Wenhui, “You go to the main gate, see if the van’s been stopped, hurry!”
He himself sprinted towards the storeroom, while Jing Junyang turned and headed in the other direction, to the computer room!
There was obviously a traitor inside the factory working with someone outside, and he needed to check if the surveillance had been destroyed.
At the main gate.
The van sped all the way, nearing the gate to smash into the barrier. The security guard running behind and panting shouted, “Stop it!”
Suddenly the barrier moved, and about five meters from the van, it slowly started to rise. Then, as it was about to hit, the barrier grazed the top of the van, allowing it to shoot out with a whoosh…
The two security guards following behind were stunned.
Regaining their senses, one of the older guards stormed into the security room, cursing as he ran, “Who the hell told you to raise the barrier? Are you fucking blind? Didn’t you see me chasing behind…”
Upon entering the security room, the out-of-breath older security guard kicked the young guard who was sitting in a chair, toppling him to the ground with a thump.
The young guard, looking down as he retreated, concealed the panic and guilt in his eyes and murmured, “Captain, what’s happened?”
“What’s happened? You tell me what the fuck has happened?”
Captain Song, the security chief, was incandescent with rage. He was supposed to have the day off, but after getting home, he realized he had forgotten to take his daughter’s school bag, so he decided to ride his bike back to the office to fetch it after lunch. Little did he know that he would stumble upon an attack on the two big bosses in the parking lot.
Never mind how that van got in, but shouldn’t they have checked it on the way out?
They were lucky that the bosses were unharmed today; if something had truly gone wrong, he would have been in deep trouble.
He pointed at the young security guard Li Jiacai and said to the equally winded guard who had just come in, “Keep an eye on him and tie him up with a rope.”
After finishing his orders, Captain Song turned and left the security room, only to run into Liu Wenhui, who was rushing over.
“Brother Liu…”
“What the hell happened? Who the fuck opened the barrier?”
Liu Wenhui was furious. How could someone escape right under their watch? Were these security guards good for nothing?
Captain Song’s face was a mixture of embarrassment and regret. Although it wasn’t he who had let the culprit go, it was still someone under his command. But now was not the time to assign blame; the immediate issue needed resolving.
He said to Liu Wenhui, “We’re short on manpower right now. Brother Liu, could you please call the police, while I check out the warehouse? Also, there’s something fishy about Li Youcai who let the van escape; keep an eye on him. And secure the main gate; starting this instant, before the police arrive, no one is allowed to leave.”
The other guards had run off to extinguish the fire in the storeroom, but there weren’t many of them since it was the lunch break. Although the factory had a canteen, at least half the staff preferred to eat out.
Perhaps that’s what gave the troublemaker their chance.
From the attack in the parking lot to the fire in the storeroom, barely half an hour had passed. Yet within that short span, the factory felt like it was in disarray.
Liu Wenhui was Jiang Yan’s man, and Captain Song trusted him. After giving some quick instructions, he hurried off towards the storeroom.
Perhaps it was discovered in time or Jiang Yan directed the response well; by the time Captain Song arrived, the fire had been extinguished within minutes.
“President Jiang…”
Jiang Yan turned to look at Captain Song, “President Jing has gone to the computer room to check the surveillance. You should go too; I’ll watch things here.”
Wiping the sweat from his face, Captain Song quickly headed toward the surveillance room.
Over time, the pain in his arm had lessened a bit, no longer as severe as before, but it was still red and swollen, looking quite frightening.
But right now, Jiang Yan couldn’t be concerned with himself. He was busy directing people to clean up the burnt ashes, while also ordering a comprehensive inspection of the warehouse, leaving no corner unchecked.
Soon, Jing Junyang came to him with a dark expression. Jiang Yan guessed a possibility right away, “Is the surveillance destroyed?”
Jing Junyang nodded, “But I’ve already called Du Fan. He’s on his way. Hopefully, he can fix it.”
Jiang Yan narrowed his eyes, “Even if it can’t be fixed, there’s no problem, we still caught someone, didn’t we?”
Jing Junyang pondered for a moment, then said, “It’s eight or nine out of ten that this is Zhuang’s doing.”
Ever since they established the new factory and fell out with ‘Father and Son’ Zhuang, almost the entire leadership team from the middle level up from the original electronics factory had joined them. This not only set their new factory on the right track but also allowed it to grow and expand beyond the reach of any other electronics factory in Beijing within just over a year.
That alone would have been enough, but the key was that Zhuang’s electronics factory went bankrupt.
Even after Zhuang Shengkai realized the blunder and took back control from his son, it was too late. No matter how hard he tried, he couldn’t revive the factory or stave off disaster…
