Rebirth: He Decides to Lie Flat
Chapter 366 - 366 361 Xiao Qis Idea

Chapter 366: Chapter 361 Xiao Qi’s Idea Chapter 366: Chapter 361 Xiao Qi’s Idea Embarking on a campus entrepreneurship journey is the right choice for most students, and Jiang Yan also approves of Xiao Qi’s thought process. But it’s strange–why didn’t the kid just call him directly?

Upon leaving Xinyu, as Jiang Yan headed back to Qinghe Garden, he dialed Xiao Qi. The call was picked up after barely two rings, and from the other end came this grandson’s cheerful voice–

“Hello, Jiang Yan.”

It seems he was overthinking it.

Jiang Yan cut to the chase, “I just saw your message. Why didn’t you just call me?”

“Calling is so expensive. My campus card comes with a thousand text messages.”

This excuse was truly absurd, making it hard not to believe.

In reality, Xiao Qi was afraid of calling and having Mu Jiawen pick up. To be honest, he was terrified of hearing her voice.

To date, he had managed to keep it well hidden, with not a soul aware of the person he concealed deep in his heart. He hoped to keep it that way forever, unnoticed by anyone.

Jiang Yan steered the conversation back to campus entrepreneurship, “Tell me about your plan in detail.”

“Here’s what I’m thinking. We, as computer science students, all know that computers are bound to become prevalent, and information networking is the trend. Just look at our school’s network. Last year, it was just a simple framework—one of those you click on and exit immediately. But this year, after optimization, the perception is distinctly different. Although it mostly features academic content, which isn’t of particular interest to everyone, you can’t rule out using it to find templates for papers. This is way faster than searching through the library for resources, and it’s more directional. So, the browsing and reading statistics have significantly improved from last year.

I was thinking since the campus network is dedicated to studying, can I create a similar website but for leisure, featuring topics that everyone recognizes and finds interesting? While attracting the crowd, also advertise for businesses.”

After finishing, Xiao Qi laughed sheepishly, “This is something I came up with on the spur of the moment yesterday. I’m not even sure if it’s feasible. Give me your thoughts.”

He, too, noticed Jiang Yan working on computers and developing games. Since both of them majored in computer science, he fully understood how promising and potent the industry is. And he also happened to have an idea for developing a website, which led to his current plan.

But having an idea is one thing; actual execution is another. He had never made money before, let alone ventured into entrepreneurship. That’s why he wanted to ask Jiang Yan if it was doable or not.

Of course, it was feasible.

Jiang Yan felt that Xiao Qi was quite savvy and encouraged him to go for it boldly. If he ran into any decision-making dilemmas or unsolvable problems, he could call him.

His guidance might not always fit the real-world scenarios. Only when Xiao Qi encountered them and thought them through seriously could he carve out his own path.

When he returned to Qinghe Garden, Jiang Yan saw a blue candy bar phone on the coffee table in the living room and had a sudden thought. Could that wretched girl also be receiving a pile of love-confessing texts like his?

Mu Jiawen wasn’t in the room; she had run to the backyard to feed Xiaohei.

Mu Chenyan was in the yard, tending to her flowers. Yu Heng had moved out after his marriage and was now living with Luo Xiao in his apartment. Yu Feng hadn’t come back from working overtime, so the living room was empty.

Just to be clear, he wasn’t suspecting her, but purely out of curiosity, he wanted to see if the love-confessing texts she received were as bizarre as his. Or, cough, if there were any from girls.

Jiang Yan, like a thief, picked up the blue candy bar phone. After unlocking it, he indeed saw over a dozen unread messages.

That’s not too bad, just over a dozen.

But as he opened the first message, he froze: [Ahhh Jiajia, today my roommate insisted on watching a porn flick, and there was this girl with a really huge chest, even bigger than yours. I seriously suspect she got water injections!]

Jiang Yan: ….

Zhu Jin, you shameless girl, does Yu Hang know about this?

Why did his hand have to be so cheap, actually tapping on her message.

Jiang Yan exited the message, deleted it, and went back to the home screen interface. He then locked his phone, placed it back on the coffee table, and nonchalantly walked out of the living room towards the backyard.

After Yu Heng’s wedding, Yu Yue, who quite liked Jade City, wanted to stay here for a few more days to unwind.

Yu Zekun was very pleased. Originally, he too had this in mind; the old residence was usually occupied by only him and Uncle Meng, which was indeed very lonely. He also had no intention of remarrying unless Mu Chenyan agreed to a remarriage, but he knew the likelihood of that was minuscule.

Thus, he had prepared himself for the prospect of growing old alone in Jade City.

Having his younger brother and nephew stay with him for more days was certainly welcome.

Lishen left the next day, as his contract with the laboratory hadn’t ended. He couldn’t just walk away like Yu Yue could.

After all, he couldn’t afford the breach of contract fee.

However, he was well aware that once he returned, he probably wouldn’t be assigned any tasks. Everyone in their laboratory knew he was close to Yu Yue, and it was possible they also anticipated that he would definitely leave once his four-month contract expired.

“You go back and tell Kage and the others to be more careful in what they do. Don’t let them catch you out. Without me there, they will certainly target you guys. If I remember correctly, Kage’s contract will expire in half a month. Tell him about Yu Ci’s terms, and if he wants to go over there, Yu Ci can help him arrange to join a reliable team.”

Lishen intended to stick with Yu Yue, planning to return to his country once his contract ended.

After seeing off Lishen, Yu Yue and Yu Zexiao stayed in Jade City for another half month before returning to Beijing to handle household registration and other official paperwork.

Yu Zexiao knew how to enjoy life; he had sold the house he previously shared with Tan Min and bought a spacious flat, not far from Mu Chenyan’s Qinghe Garden.

His own bedroom came with a walk-in wardrobe and a bathroom that featured a large bathtub. Of the other bedrooms, one was turned into a study, another into a gym. There was also a guest room, specifically prepared for the three Yu brothers in case he became ill and needed one of them to take care of him.

It could be said he had thought everything through very thoroughly.

The living room and dining area were both very large, complete with a bar for mixing drinks. The kitchen was designed exquisitely; although he didn’t cook much himself, he often hired a part-time worker to help with cooking. He certainly didn’t shortchange himself when it came to his living arrangements.

The guest room was fairly large and included a bathroom. Yu Yue was quite satisfied with it.

However, what he was most pleased with was the study: an entire wall of intricately built bookshelves filled with a diverse collection of books—martial arts classics, famous works from home and abroad, books on cooking and health tonics, as well as economic and financial literature. The selection was varied and comprehensive.

“I didn’t expect you to be interested in economics.”

As Yu Yue spoke, he casually pulled out a book on the principles of economics from the shelf, thumbing through it. It was so new he could still smell the ink. So, it had been bought and not even read once?

Yu Zexiao, seeing that book, touched his nose guiltily. He had bought those books purely to furnish his over one hundred thousand RMB worth of bookshelves. At the time, the bookstore was having a sale on economics books, so he grabbed seven or eight books without much thought—even the titles went unnoticed—and just placed them on the shelf once he got home.

It could be said that aside from the martial arts novels, he hadn’t touched anything else on the shelf.

It wasn’t that he couldn’t understand them; he just wasn’t interested.

Yu Yue snorted coldly, feeling like he was beginning to understand his father’s true nature.

He put the book back on the shelf, turned around, and pointing to an empty space against the wall, said, “Can a bed fit here? I’ll temporarily stay in the study.”
