Yu Hang had no choice but to enter and greet his father’s friends.

“Yu Hang, are you having dinner with your high school classmates today?”

Yu Hang looked at the speaker and recognized him as Deng Tao’s dad, Boss Deng, who was also a longstanding friend of his own father.

He nodded politely, confirming that was the case.

“Xiaotao happens to be here dining with her high school classmates too. They’re in the main hall; you probably all know each other. Why not join them?”

Yu Hang’s smile stiffened a bit. He tactfully refused, “Uncle, we’re almost done with our meal and will be leaving soon.”

Meanwhile, Yu Hang had just left the restroom and ran into Deng Tao head-on in the corridor.

He glanced up and nodded faintly at her, intending to pass by, but Deng Tao stopped him. She bit her lip and asked, “Are you free tomorrow?”

Having been irritated by her father just moments before, Yu Hang suppressed his annoyance and responded, “I’m quite busy these days. Do you need something?”

Unaware of his mood, Deng Tao’s cheeks flushed with a hint of shyness as she quietly said, “My family just opened a hot spring resort. I’ve invited a few classmates to hang out, would you like to join us?”

After a pause, she added, “Not in the next few days, but next week.”

Yu Hang declined resolutely, “No, I’m not familiar with anyone from Class 6.”

After saying this, he turned to leave, but suddenly stopped. He saw Zhu Jin standing not too far away. As he watched her indifferent gaze sweep over him and Deng Tao, a wave of panic hit him as he thought she might have misunderstood.

Deng Tao had wanted to suggest she could invite some people from his class too, but upon seeing Zhu Jin approach, she shut her mouth and headed for the restroom instead.

Zhu Jin walked past Yu Hang without a sideways glance, ignoring his attempt to speak.

When she emerged from the restroom, Deng Tao had already left, and Yu Hang was gone too.

As she neared the room, Zhu Jin saw Yu Hang standing by a window at the end of the corridor, leaning against the frame.
