Chapter 83: Chapter 42 Can’t Go Anymore

"So you knew too!" Mrs. Fang muttered under her breath, loud enough for Mrs. Li to hear.

"Not at all! We are all family here, second aunt, please don’t say that!" Sang Hong hurriedly said with a smile, giving Mrs. Fang a warning look.

"I think the second aunt’s complexion doesn’t look very good. Are you feeling unwell? If you really can’t make it, then we shouldn’t force it! I think grandmother wouldn’t blame you!" Mrs. Fang intentionally ignored Sang Hong’s look and said with seeming concern.

"Alright, alright, let’s get on the carriage! Why all this nonsense!" Second Master Sang glared and scolded, though it was unclear whether it was directed at his wife or his niece.

Once Mrs. Li spoke up, of course, she wouldn’t really stay behind. She just wanted to irritate Mrs. Fang, who’s objections she certainly didn’t care about! In fact, if Mrs. Fang hadn’t objected, that would have seemed odd to her!

"Just thinking about meeting our grandmother today, I was so excited I couldn’t sleep well last night. My complexion might not look great, right? Never mind, I’ll just sleep a bit in the carriage! Hey, eldest daughter-in-law, come, help me up!"

Mrs. Fang cast a cold glance at Sang Yan, who was preoccupied with admiring and feeling her new clothes, and remained unmoved.

"Axian." Sang Hong signalled quietly.

Only then did Mrs. Fang reluctantly come forward and helped Mrs. Li.

Mrs. Li smiled so broadly her corners almost reached her ears, immediately picked the best spot and plumped down comfortably with a sigh, "Ayan, come on up quickly!"

Sang Yan, admiring her new clothes, along with Second Master Sang, also got on.

"Get up, you sit here!" Second Master Sang quickly took a liking to his wife’s seat and gestured to the side.

Mrs. Li gave him a white look, muttering reluctantly and shuffled her buttocks, giving up the best spot.

Sang Hong got Sang Xiaoquan and Sang Xiaonuan on the carriage, and was about to help Mrs. Fang up when he heard Mrs. Li’s high-pitched voice: "Oh dear, why bring such little kids? Let’s not, there’s no room!"

Second Master Sang also frowned and said: "You are being foolish! Children don’t understand things, what if they do something wrong and shame our Sang family! Isn’t Mrs. Xu at home? Quickly take them down, take them down!"

Sang Xiaoquan and Sang Xiaonuan had been looking forward to this day for a long, hearing Second Grandpa and Second Grandma say they shouldn’t go, their little lips pouted, on the verge of tears.

Mrs. Fang, unable to contain her anger, quickly got on the carriage, wrapped an arm around each child and said coolly, "Grandmother mentioned last time she wanted to see Xiaoquan and Xiaonuan, I must bring them today! Once we are at Grandmother’s house, remember to listen to Mom and Dad, and behave properly, understand?"

Sang Xiaoquan and Sang Xiaonuan quickly nodded, "Listen to Mom! Listen to Dad!"

"Axian and I will hold them, they won’t take up much space, second uncle and aunt, don’t worry! It’s getting late, we should hurry!" Sang Hong added as he got on.

Second Master Sang snorted through his nostrils, "Suit yourselves! If it gets embarrassing later, don’t blame me for not warning you!" saying so, he leaned back and calmly closed his eyes to rest.

Mrs. Fang suppressed the anger in her heart, Sang Hong nodded in comfort and signaled the coachman to drive.

The coachman responded, whipped the reins, shouting twice, hooves clattered, wheels rumbled, and the carriage went shaking quickly into the distance.

Sang Rou stepped out of the house, her eyes filled with jealous and resentful glares following the carriage until it disappeared, then she spat on the ground, turned around and entered the house, slamming the door fiercely with a "bang!"

"We still have a long way to go, let’s have something to eat to fill up our stomachs!" Reaching the town, breakfast shops had already opened, and the streets were gradually getting crowded with passersby, the aroma of food warmly wafting from small stalls and shops.

At Sang Hong’s suggestion, Second Master Sang and Mrs. Li were naturally delighted.

Second Master Sang stepped down from the carriage, stood tall with hands behind his back, looked around, and pointing at one of the most decent looking shops said, "Let’s just eat something there!"

Just as Mrs. Fang was about to say something, Sang Hong quickly nodded and said with a smile: "Good, let’s go there!" saying so, he took Mrs. Fang with the two children, following the leading second uncle’s family.

Second Master Sang and Mrs. Li, not showing any detachment to Sang Hong, ordered a lot: beef noodles, pork dumplings, sticky rice shumai, fried crispy cakes, as well as dishes like goose feet, duck tendons, crispy lamb tripe, crispy bamboo shoots, and several other cold dishes.
