Chapter 541: Chapter 521: Confusing (Part 3)
"What’s wrong?" Xi Ming immediately sensed something was off, his brow slightly furrowed.
"It seemed like there were words there," Luo Qianqian said with a wry smile, "It can’t be that I’m hallucinating because I fainted, right?"
Xi Ming hesitated a bit, "But, there’s absolutely no trace of any writing on the paper. Even the florist didn’t see any words on the envelope."
Luo Qianqian was completely dumbfounded. How could this be? Could it all be her hallucinations?
No, that couldn’t be right. If it were a hallucination, how could she remember it so vividly? And why would she keep thinking about who left it?
It made no sense to be all her conjecture.
Qin Nuan frowned, "Could it be related to the thing that made Qianqian faint?"
Luo Qianqian’s eyes lit up. Qin Nuan made a lot of sense. If it were some chemical reaction that made the letters appear, and then the substance disappeared, it was indeed possible.
Xi Ming’s brow furrowed slightly, his hand holding the phone turning slightly pale, "I need to go first, contact me if anything comes up." With that, he hurried off.
Luo Qianqian was a bit dumbfounded, "Did he just remember that he left the gas on at home?"
Cong Rong remained unchanged, his expression calm, "He must have been reminded by Nuan Nuan."
Qin Nuan was also thrilled, "I feel like I finally did something good."
Luo Qianqian stretched her lips, "Are you saying that what you did before wasn’t good?"
Consequently, Luo Qianqian received a flick on the forehead from Qin Nuan, rubbing her forehead with tears welling up as she looked at her, then the three of them regained their calm, quietly walking on the road, approaching the dormitory building, Qin Nuan stopped, "Qianqian, try not to be so reckless next time."
Luo Qianqian paused, then nodded, saying nothing. It was Qin Nuan’s way of showing care.
She had been careful, after all. The letter was handed to her personally by the flower delivery boy, and had directly contacted her skin. How could she have anticipated other issues?
She had avoided touching the flower due to it lying on the ground, for fear of any problems upon contact.
Before they even reached the stairs, Luo Qianqian’s phone rang. Startled, she looked at the screen, which flashed with Lin Jiayou’s name.
"Brother Jiayou?" Luo Qianqian answered the phone with a puzzled face, "What’s up?"
"I heard you had fainted, thought you should be awake by now, so I called." Lin Jiayou’s voice was gentle, filled with concern, "Are you okay? I didn’t have my phone with me during class today and only found out this evening. I’ll visit you tomorrow."
"News travels fast." Luo Qianqian smirked, "Come over if you can, and remember to bring me a small cake. We now have five people in the dorm."
"Sure." Hearing Luo Qianqian’s spirited voice reassured Lin Jiayou, but he still cautioned, "Auntie shouldn’t be stressed out right now. Let’s not tell her, okay?"
This auntie was, of course, his stepmother, Luo Qianqian’s mother An Zilan.
Luo Qianqian quickly nodded, responding, "Yes, yes, definitely don’t tell my mom. It wouldn’t be good to upset her."
After a few more words of concern, Lin Jiayou ended the call. Luo Qianqian looked aggrieved, "Why do I feel like I’m being watched? You guys didn’t tell the Luos, right?"
The person who told Lin Jiayou about her fainting was undoubtedly Zhang Yun. In this dorm other than her connection with Lin Jiayou, only Zhang Yun had been in touch with him. Qin Nuan had his phone number but wouldn’t contact him unless it was an emergency. She kept the number just in case it was needed unexpectedly.
Qin Nuan’s face was calm, "Of course not." She was quite certain that Luo Yanran was probably just like Luo Qianqian, sleeping. Although she hadn’t been in close contact, the exhaustion on his face was unmistakable, and obviously, although his spirits seemed high for the shoot because she was there, Luo Yanran had sneakily winked and waved at her.
Thinking of this, Qin Nuan hooked up a smile, "But do you think you can keep it hidden?"
Cong Rong showed an awkward expression, "After you woke up, I did talk to him about it."
Who he was, beyond question, was undoubtedly Luo Yanwu.
"Third Brother is fine, he definitely won’t blab to Grandpa and Grandma." Luo Qianqian sighed with relief and looked at Qin Nuan, "Just don’t tell Luo Yanwu. If he genuinely knew anything, he could let the whole world know it."
"But I guess, my Second Brother already knows." Qin Nuan looked towards Luo Qianqian, her face showing some helplessness, "The person who came to handle the case was Qiu Yu."
Luo Qianqian had a heart-sinking feeling. Why were there acquaintances everywhere?
If it were a person from an amusement park or aquarium, she might get a discount on tickets, but having this sort of acquaintance only made her immensely troubled about how to keep them quiet.
"Second Brother won’t gossip, after all, he hasn’t even called me yet." Qin Nuan quickly said, "He is quite professional."
No sooner had the words left her mouth than Qin Nuan’s phone started ringing. Luo Qianqian leaned over to look and laughed out loud, "Hmm, professional integrity."
The name displayed on Qin Nuan’s phone was indeed ’Qin Wen’.
"Second Brother..." Qin Nuan’s cheeks twitched, hardly wanting to hear Qin Wen inquire about Luo Qianqian.
"Yeah, I’m at the door. Come out," Qin Wen’s voice was calm, betraying no emotion.
"Ah? Who? Who am I with? I still have homework to do..." Qin Nuan stubbornly played dumb, pretending that nothing had happened.
"You and Qianqian." Qin Wen didn’t give Qin Nuan a chance to pretend.
Qin Nuan really didn’t want to admit it, but the smile on Luo Qianqian’s face was almost mocking.
"I’m going up first. You guys should hurry up," Cong Rong looked at Qin Nuan’s expression, smiled slightly, stretched her waist, "I need to go back to the dorm to study."
Luo Qianqian didn’t want to face the stern Qin Wen and quickly said, "Me too, me too, I’m going to study too, good study, day by day..." However, Qin Nuan grabbed her, hung up the phone, and looked at Cong Rong with an apologetic smile, "Then we’ll go first. We’ll bring you something delicious when we get back."
Cong Rong didn’t refuse, just nodded faintly and turned to go upstairs.
Luo Qianqian frowned, "Nuan, why are you dragging me, an outsider, along? You see, my last name is Luo, not Qin."
Qin Nuan rolled her eyes, "Don’t think you can relax alone. Qin Wen is quite scary when he’s stern. I definitely don’t want to face him alone. Consider it as keeping me company."
Kisses had never been stern towards Qin Nuan, but she had seen Qin Wen being stern with his clients—his face as cold as a freezer, not too far from the cold-faced Qin Liang. Those who are usually smiley are even more terrifying when they turn cold.
"...There’s no way to treat a good friend like this," Luo Qianqian said, indicating she felt like crying.
"How do you know you can’t if you’ve never been treated like that?" Qin Nuan said cheerily as she dragged, no, more accurately pulled Luo Qianqian toward the side door of the school.
Luo Qianqian expressed that she very much wanted to see Luo Yanran right now.
