Chapter 389 - Chapter 389 Chapter 378 Sold Out
Chapter 389: Chapter 378 Sold Out Chapter 389: Chapter 378 Sold Out The store was opening, and as the boss, Lu Hongjun needed to attend the ribbon-cutting ceremony. Caught between attending school and the new store’s opening, Lu Jiaxin chose school. However, several celebrities who were endorsing the brand attended, as did Xu Yue and Susan.
That evening, after finishing her tutorial class and homework, Lu Jiaxin was preparing to wash up when the phone rang. Once she answered, she heard Xu Yue’s excited voice, “Boss, boss, today the three stores’ revenue hit over 1.6 million. Luckily we have enough inventory; otherwise, we’d sell out in two days.”
Lu Jiaxin yawned and asked, “Anything else? If not, I’m going to sleep.”
Remembering that she had school the next day, Xu Yue quickly said there was nothing else. After hanging up, she turned to Susan sitting opposite her and remarked, “We did great business today, but the boss doesn’t seem the least bit thrilled, does she?”
Hearing that, Susan laughed and replied, “The boss just paid in full for a building. Why would she be excited over a mere one hundred and sixty thousand? However, if it were her own brand selling this well, she would probably be happy.”
Xu Yue recalled Lu Jiaxin’s paintings and commented, “The boss is only a freshman. It’ll be two or three years before she can start her own brand. Let’s focus on managing Green Forest for now!”
Currently, with three stores, she felt that next year they could aim to open twenty stores in Hong Kong, something entirely feasible with the boss’s financial capacity.
Lu Jiaxin indeed planned to rapidly expand Green Forest to seize market share. Her strategy was to invest her own money initially and then turn to bank loans once Green Forest became profitable. In business, to grow and strengthen, one can’t do without the support of banks. Even Xinxin Real Estate, except for the unique case of Hongji Building, made a thirty percent down payment for other properties and financed the rest through bank loans.
Three days later, Su Heyuan called Lu Jiaxin and said, “I heard your Vigor Forest is so packed it’s bursting at the seams, doing so well that competitors are green with envy.”
“No, my company is Green Forest.”
“Ah, I got that wrong. Jiaxin, you’re an overnight sensation.”
Jokingly, Lu Jiaxin asked, “Are you envious?”
Su Heyuan indeed wasn’t. He explained, “In the clothing industry, a yearly profit of one or two billion is considered impressive, but a small real estate company’s annual profit can exceed a billion. If you want to come back to Qirui Company, it’s no problem on my end.”
Upon hearing this, Lu Jiaxin understood he was preparing to focus all his energy on the real estate company. “Are you thinking of selling off Qirui?”
Su Heyuan denied this speculation, “Qirui makes a sizable profit each year. I plan to go public within three years; how could I possibly sell it off?”
If Lu Jiaxin were interested, he would sell, but to others, it was out of the question. Qirui had reached a profit margin of seventy to eighty million in such a short time, and he had poured a great deal of effort into it. And since she had pointed out the direction for its development, specific matters were handed over to his subordinates.
Lu Jiaxin said, “That’s good to hear. If you don’t have the time, find a professional manager who’s passionate about the garment business to run it.”
Su Heyuan agreed, revealing he was already looking for a suitable candidate.
After discussing company matters, they talked about personal affairs. Su Heyuan suggested, “Jiaxin, when are you free? Xiao Su and I would like to invite you to dinner.”
Lu Jiaxin was somewhat surprised, “Is it settled then?”
Upon hearing his affirmative grunt, Lu Jiaxin laughed, “Last time you said you wanted to understand her more, and now you’ve changed your mind so soon. Can you tell me why?”
It wasn’t anything secretive. It was because Su Xingwen was feeling unwell, but he didn’t want to delay his son’s affairs and kept it to himself. Bai Jingshu discovered his issue during a visit to his villa and took Su Xingwen to the hospital the next day for an examination, where they diagnosed him with cholecystitis.
Su Heyuan spoke somewhat guiltily, “My dad’s been in pain for over a month, and I didn’t even notice, but Jingshu figured it out just from having dinner with me and even took him to the hospital.”
Lu Jiaxin felt that he was hardly fulfilling his son duties, but it seemed from this incident that a lady of the house was indeed needed. Miss Bai came from a prestigious family, was a graduate of Hong Kong University, and worked at the Environmental Protection Department. She was more than capable, both in household matters and ability, to match Su Heyuan. If not for Su Hongying’s involvement, he might not have had the chance to go on a blind date with the Second Miss Nie.
“I have classes on the 24th evening, so that won’t work. Any other time is fine.”
Su Heyuan said with a smile, “Once I see Jingshu tonight, I’ll ask if she’s free this weekend. I’ll let you know when it’s set.”
“Okay.”
Su Heyuan then asked about Nie Zhan, “Haven’t seen him around these days. I heard he went abroad on business. Has Wansheng’s business expanded overseas now?”
Lu Jiaxin replied with a smile, “Wansheng has always had investments overseas, just not a large proportion.”
“If the proportion isn’t large, why does he need to go abroad to deal with it?”
There wasn’t anything to hide. Lu Jiaxin said, “His mother accidentally injured herself. When Old Master Nie found out, he sent him to Australia to visit her. She’s almost recovered now, and he should be back in the next couple of days.”
“Injured herself? How did that happen?”
Lu Jiaxin indicated that Nie Zhan hadn’t elaborated, so she wasn’t sure. In fact, she knew but didn’t mind letting others know what Lu Hongjun had done. However, the Nie Family would probably mind, so it was better not to say.
Su Heyuan commented, puzzled, “I don’t know what Second Miss Nie is thinking, not coming back more often to see her elderly father, just caring about her own carefree happiness.”
Realizing his words might have been inappropriate, he quickly added, “Someone whose brain is only filled with thoughts of men is better off not coming back at all. She should just stay in Australia to avoid troubling you.”
Lu Jiaxin chuckled, “Whether she lives in Australia or returns to Hong Kong, it won’t affect me.”
As people say, talk about someone and they’ll show up; that very afternoon, Nie Zhan returned. He first saw Old Master Nie upon arriving in Hong Kong and then went to visit Lu Jiaxin.
As soon as she saw him, Lu Jiaxin couldn’t help frowning, “Why have you lost so much weight? Were you the one taking care of her this whole time?”
Nie Zhan didn’t say anything, simply stepping forward to hold her in his arms.
Lu Jiaxin let herself be held for quite a while without him letting go, gently patting his back, “Have you eaten? If not, I’ll make you a bowl of noodles.”
“Okay.”
Nie Zhan softly agreed.
Lu Jiaxin made him a bowl of braised beef noodles, which Nie Zhan quickly devoured.
Seeing his gaunt face, Lu Jiaxin asked with concern, “What exactly happened? Why did it take so long for you to come back?”
Now Nie Zhan felt a lot better, “She isn’t in any danger. She just needs a good rest, so I transferred her to a hospital in Switzerland for recovery.”
From Australia to Switzerland, that was quite the distance to be transferred.
Lu Jiaxin asked, “The injuries your mother sustained, did that man cause them?”
Nie Zhan nodded, “Yes, but his head was also cracked open, and he has many wounds as well. However, my mom wants a divorce, so I transferred her to Switzerland.”
Thankfully, it wasn’t like the domestic melodramas where despite being abused over and over, the love remains unchanged. Their situation was mutual fighting, not domestic abuse.
Seeing that Lu Jiaxin was silent, Nie Zhan explained, “The reason I didn’t transfer her back to Hong Kong is because she and my grandfather are like fire and water. My grandfather’s health is poor; he can’t afford to be agitated.”
